Tella 2026: Benefits, Features & Pricing

I love Tella! I replaced Loom with it and now I use it for both internal videos with my team and for content I publish on LinkedIn (and sometimes YouTube). It's very fast to edit videos and add nice transitions and effects. Also a big plus is being able to quickly adapt to different ratios (portrait, square, panoramic).

There are some features I would love to see, like blur effects or maybe improving their auto-trimming functionality, not a big deal, but those would be nice.

Things I like about Tella: - Great for both screen recordings and social media videos - The zoom feature is nice — which is great when you're planning to send or publish your screen recordings and you're explaining something - The ability to add and customize subtitles - The many layouts you can choose from — and the fact that you can use multiple layouts in the same video by assigning different layouts to different segments - The ability to record yourself giving a slide deck presentation - Being able to create playlists (though this can also be a con if you prefer folders ... but playlists allow you to add a single video to more than one category). - Being able to set the default playback speed before sharing your video

Things I dislike about Tella: There are still several bugs I find very annoying like: - More than 50% of the time, Tella records the wrong screen for your very first video right after you open the application. This has happened SO many times that I always first record a "test test test" video to let Tella get this out of its system before I proceed to record my actual video. It only ever happens to the very first one you record, for some reason. It doesn't matter what I do — I quadruple check that the right screen is selected, and I even see the green screen border, and yet Tella still records the wrong screen! - The "restart" recording feature doesn't always work. When you're done recording and are ready to edit your video you'll notice that some segments are corrupt and you have to record those segments all over again. Really sucks and makes the whole thing needlessly time-consuming. - Sometimes when you "re-record" over an existing segment, that new segment gets corrupted as well and then you have to do it over and over again. - I've experienced other random bugs, like the corners of the speaker window being hard instead of rounded — for just one single segment ... so weird. Nothing I could possibly do during the editing process allowed me to display it as rounded corners even though that is the default look with the Tella layouts. I should have probably mentioned this to the Tella team but I haven't gotten around to it. Another thing I don't like about Tella is that I can't create private links. I should be able to add email addresses of clients so only the people I've shared the video with can access the video. Or password-protect it or something. But those options do not yet exist as far as I can see.
