Pros:

Accounts portal just works, you don't need expensive training, just a good general understanding of accounting practice. The complete opposite of a system (S***) that made my life a misery in teh past.

Cons:

I haven't really got into automatic reconciliation of statements or producing my invoices through AccountsPortal. Some simple walk through videos to introduce them to me would be useful.

Reasons for choosing AccountsPortal

I didn't really want to go with a cloud solution, but a trail of AccountsPortal proved so easy to use compared to my previous experience of Sage, signing up was a no-brainer.

Great, easily useable, simple accounting package

I've used this for three organisations for several years and have recommended it to others, very good value for money and straightforward to use.

Pros:

Easy to set up, easy to find way around, trouble free, covers everything needed for doing whole accounts for small businesses.

Cons:

Can't say there's anything I don't like about it for what it does, but for larger organisations it misses some functionality provided by more expensive packages (being able to upload pdf invoices and populate from pdf invoices, completely live bank feeds for example)

Cheaper! Much more functional than Sage.

Reasons for switching to AccountsPortal

Much quicker for inputting, reporting and sales invoicing. Much easier for year end accounts prep.

Ease of use, updates are great too. As I run two businesses I found the ability to add another business very useful.

Cons:

Quite often get an annoying error message saying error, when logging in but try again & you are in.

QB updated & lost us thousands in invoicing, we contacted them but they never apologised or rectified their mistake, we had to get our accountant to restore the invoices manually. which cost us a lot of money.

Pros:

The unique aspect that I found most interesting in AccountsPortal was journal and ledger drill down. I could be able to go to the particular report of selected transactions and reconcile contrary to doing it afresh if there are some complications and errors which you have to correct.

Cons:

AccountsPortal does not support the feature of making payment in batches for suppliers invoices. Every bill had to be processed separately, which proved very tedious when dealing with end of the month expenses through various vendors selected.

Pros:

The VAT return acualization and its submission to HMRC was very easy to do. I was very lucky to save a lot of time, when using AccountsPortal. I say that the running billing options were especially effective in handling repeat customers with virtually no input needed.

Cons:

The only thing that I had an issues with was that this software does not support auto integration with banks. This gave me the less impression compared to other platforms I used to upload bank statements in which I had to do it weekly.

Pros:

It's very easy to set it up online, they also offer a free trial without any commitments. I like that they also offer free support. You can create your own professional invoices and accept regular payments. One of my favorite features is the real-time reporting that you can take advantage of at all times.

Cons:

Nothing really, very satisfied with Accounts portal.

Best bookkeeping/accounting software we've ever used

We needed an online solution so multiple people could enter orders and use the software. Accounts Portal is simple enough so that an "Accounting Dummy" like me can use it, and complete enough so that our Accountant can do his job. Did I mention that in addition to it being the best for our purposes, it is also the least expensive. I wouldn't hesitate to pay twice as much for it.

Pros:

We spent 3 years searching for bookkeeping software that would suit our needs. Everything else came up short, and many of them were too expensive to justify for our needs. Then we found Accounts Portal in 2014 and haven't looked back. It fulfills all of our needs and more. Any of us can sign on and enter a new order or look up bank balances or anything else we need to do. There is something else even better than the software: The service. On the rare occasions I need help (maybe once a year) I get the answers and help that I need quickly, in ways that are easy for a non-accountant to understand and implement.

Cons:

Central United States is 6 hours away from the UK, so tomorrow comes earlier, so when we get an order in the evening I have to remember to set the date back one day.

Reasons for choosing AccountsPortal

AP has the features we need without paying more money. We appreciate when companies are honest with us and tell us what we can expect - and then deliver on their promises. AP has been honest with us, and has never asked for any more money beyond the modest monthly subscription.

Reasons for switching to AccountsPortal

We didn't like QuickBooks business practices at all, or the company that owns it.

I does an excellent job of keeping the books (or helping me to), Accounts Portal are excellent at responding if I do have a query and its easy , particularly an engineer, to use.

Pros:

Overall, it's easy to use, my accountant likes it, the system stores product in both sales and purcheses

Cons:

My accountant isn't able to read everything but not write to it. I don't want to allow him to access the sales and purchase so that it's kept just in my domain (I hope that makes sense)

Pros:

I've been using AccountsPortal for over 5 years now and I have been very happy with the features it offers. I especially like been able to manage all our accounting needs in one place and with it been online it means I am able to access it anywhere I can get internet which is very important for out company.

Cons:

I do wish there was support for multiple currencies bit aside from that I have no complaints about the software.

It was recommended to us by our company accountant so we just went ahead with it and we have not been disappointed.
