About Pleo

Pleo is a cloud-based expense management solution designed to help businesses handle the sharing of corporate credit cards among employees, record receipts or reimbursements and track spend in real-time. Features include fraud detection, expense reconciliation, permission management and image capture.

Pleo lets accountants generate on-demand prepaid virtual cards for online purchases and plastic cards for offline shopping and set up custom spend limits. Managers can receive notifications for every transaction, capture receipts and automatically categorize purchases. Using the dashboard, supervisors can view all purchases and add custom tags for accounting procedures.

Pleo offers integration with various third-party accounting applications such as Xero, Sage, Billy, QuickBooks, Visma and more. It offers mobile applications for iOS and Android, letting users receive notifications on purchases, track expenditure and change or block PIN instantly. The solution is available on monthly subscriptions and support is provided via chat, email, phone and documentation.

Pros:

Pleo has enabled me to keep track of my expenses and has made it easier than ever to attach every single receipt right away. I don't have to worry about collecting my receipts anymore and I know that expenses at the end of the month are super smooth. I can only recommend Pleo—both as a software but also their service-minded people. Love everything about it

I honestly don't have anything bad to say about Pleo :)

Perfect tool

I like spending time on things that develop and grow our business rather than filling out expense forms. Pleo allows us to do that while we are absolutely sure that Pleo will do its part perfectly.

Pros:

The Pleo app works perfectly. It saves you a lot of time and it makes it super easy to control and follow company expenses. The integration to accounting platforms like e-conomic works very well and it saves time and money on your book keeping.

Cons:

The export functions could be more elaborate but that would just be icing on the cake.

Expense tool for small business

Was the first expense tool we used an for low level of expenses it can be useful and cheap, but we were promised features that were never available, there were many bugs and it took a long time for technical support to fix it. Also when they made changes to the process they didn’t inform us and we had to find out for ourself. For all these reasons we have switched to another tool

Pros:

It gives freedom to the entire sales team and all other employees who occasionally spends money on behalf of the company, by giving everyone a corporate creditcard. For the management it saves so much time on administrative paperwork and control, since you have full overview and control on spending in the PLEO solution.

Cons:

It would be nice with more open API´s to integrate with the rest of our business software.

Pros:

The real time auditing between the many in-house projects, is for us the biggest advantage. But also the fact, that our auditor only has to use 20 min!! to place a full year of bookkeeping with more then a 1000 receipts divided into approx 10 in-house projects, with each their account. Also the employees and the project managers find stability in their everyday work and it has improved their experience of ownership and responsibility in the organisation.

Cons:

Pleo is still under development, and it shows in terms of solutions can could improve the experience even more. We have contacted Pleo on 3 occasions, identifying needs for improvement. The first two are already under way, and the third, they are looking into at this point.

The best invention after the credit card

Pros:

As a frequent traveller a Pleo card is simply a must! I have cut down time spend on travel reimbursements with 90-100% as Pleo automatically transfers my expenses to my bookkeeping system with the right account information.

Cons:

I'm still waiting for the possibility to export cost per project as PDF (incl. receipts) for reimbursement purposes when I have external clients.

Absolutely amazing, stress free and fantastic support

Clarity from visibility of all transactions. Ability to know who spent what, and giving the staff physical cards has given the whole team a boost (as they feel like they have a part of Tokonatsu with them!) Very minor confusion at the start about PayPal card linking and usage fees, however this was sorted out so quickly and efficiently that we didn't notice any problems

Pros:

It was very simple to setup the system to get the whole committee setup with Pleo cards. We have full visibility on what is being bought and we are not chasing for receipts anymore. The way our event works, we have always found it hard to keep track of where they are, causing the treasurer stress every year. Now they have access to Pleo, they have been able to get all the details they need at a click of a button.

Easy to use, flexible, intuitive and saves us a considerable amount of time. Provides greater sense of control and visibility over transactions that we didn't have previously.

Cons:

It's slightly less suited to larger organisations, but the company listens to all of our suggestions and there are frequent product enhancements, so we expect this to change soon

It's made things so much easier for our team. I like the fact I can easily request new cards - both physical and virtual and set limits for each. The app popping up after a purchase has been made to ask for a receipt massively reduces the number of payments without corresponding invoices.

Cons:

charge to withdraw cash is steep to say the least but I appreciate they're trying to reduce reliance on cash. Speeding up the onset of a cashless society perhaps isn't something Pleo need to concentrate on - for now our team sometimes buys things from cash only places.
