About Sage 300

Sage 300cloud (formerly Sage Accpac) is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system that serves small and medium-size businesses in professional services, financial services, public sector, and other markets such as distribution and wholesale.

The system supports multinational business finance management, with support for multiple currencies and locations. Users can manage multiple companies with features to close books and report results by company or consolidated company.

Sage 300cloud users can maintain an unlimited number of currencies and exchange rates, get daily updates, and automate the gains or losses from fluctuations. Inventory management features within the system allow users to ship orders on time from multiple locations and track inventory by location.

Sage 300cloud will also detect unrecorded transactions, errors, and differences, and correct them to reconcile books with bank statements.

Pros:

It is a cloud business management software combined numerous function. In other words it cans be called a Total business management software because it can handle the inventory management, financial management such as paying salary, management of inputs and outputs, bills management. Finally it can produce a report of the activity anytime and the different statistics.

Cons:

It should be set by a trained used tu take in to considering Anny important details of the business. Out of this it is a complete clouds base business management software

Indonesian User of Sage 300 Comment

I am very convenience to use and to market sage here in Indonesia. Sage gives the tool for people to prepare the reliable financial report not only for accountant but to also to people who do not have enough skill or knowledge of accountancy as well as do not understand what is it. It can be told that sage not only help business to prepare reliable financial report but also teach how accountancy work.

Pros:

1. User friendly 2. Highly accurate in term of overall data, almost zero existence of having unbalanced TB, if exist it is easy to trace 3. Web and desktop base 4. Multicurrency, consolidation and intercompany transaction in one step 5. Powerful Audit Trial 6. Very active doing enhancement and doing R n D to update the version following the development of technology and business globally. 7. Easy to do setting in all module options, that is make easy for user to star with Sage 300. It really helps for tutor or lecturer during workshop and all teaching activity lively in the lab.

Cons:

1. Indonesian language is not accommodated (All captions of features will be more interesting if can be translated into Bahasa (not only Chinese and some other language). In here are still a lot of SME are more convenience using their own language ) 2. Sage do not have Asset Register by their own still using Add on (third party) 3. Do not have Payroll Module (It will be much better if Sage provide it and provide the open setting for all basic parameters that possible to adjusted to suit into the local system. 4. Do not fully absorb international accounting standard, more specific to adjust or automatically updated the market value/fair value for some instrument/account that require to value into market price/fair value, most likely like multicurrency account, and all other journal automatically follow accordingly that is already in Sage 300. 5. Not powerful enough to block the visibly of certain features especially in menu screen view in the process of invoicing, PO, SO or other form, base on certain user or group of user 6. Hierarchical approval authorization on execution of certain transaction is not available, except is in PO requisition (however is still minimal and simple hierarchical approval), need to broaden into cash disbursement and other dynamically that require approval

Decent product, difficult to get familiar with

Not great but in the right setting I believe this program could be extremely helpful and useful. Integrations were difficult.

It was very difficult to get familiar with for what our company needed. Overall it was not really what we needed but we made it work for what we were doing

Pros:

Industry-wide use makes Sage 300 skills transferable and valued. Modular design allows you to start with core accounting and add other module i.e. A/R, A/P, Inventory/Pyaroll, Project etc. as needed. Reliable and stable for accounting tasks once properly setups are configurated. Accuracy of system. Having very few and little bugs encounters. Good security and user-permission controls. Possibility of segment classification/segregation on chart of accounts. Allow multi-company and multi-currency support.

Cons:

All-in-one system for general ledger, payables, receivables, inventory, and project costing, which integrates daily accounting tasks requirements make it bit complex and complicated processing. User interface is inconvenient and not as easy as other provider provide i.e. QB etc. Learning curve is usually longer; the interface and workflows feel complex at least initially. Customization of reports is complex and not user friendly. Budgeting system is basic. Performance become slow with large datasets or many concurrent users. Add-ons are required for advanced features, increasing cost and complexity. Official support and documentation are often limited and not user friendly. Trainings are fee based whereas other competitor are giving free learning resources.

Pros:

Accounting and bookkeeping are very easy to use and track. Customer Support is very helpful and quick to respond to issues. Invoices can be managed and tracked, and errors can be quickly fixed.

Cons:

Some reports with special conditions do not provide the desired results particularly if trying to use specific dates with multiple factors.

It's a solid software solution that fits 80% of any businesses needs. Easy to use and to navigate. Powerful business logic with an expansive 3rd party integrated library to expand needs and cover the 20% of customization needs.

Pros:

Solid business logic built on a strong legacy foundation. Works and functions well as an out of the box product with many opportunities to customize to fit business needs.

Cons:

Interface is traditional Windows. Lacks a modern look and feel. Though web screens are available, they feel like an after-thought. Also, lack of Developer-owned hosting of the solution. Customization tools are 3rd party with expensive SDK option that's not as friendly as 3rd party ones.

Pros:

It's a dream for finance employees, they're constantly working on improving the user interface and available integrations...rock solid program!

Cons:

That more people don't use it! It's really adaptable and covers a large geographic territory. It's not unusual to have new employees from different parts of the world who have used it and love it.

Sage - A future-less legacy

I like how easy Sage 300 intelligence reports are to handle. I like the support time and quality from Sage. There are some issues which are still being treated by the sage developers and we are still waiting on their response. Seems Sage 300 doesn't have much life left(if they don't innovate more).

Sage 300 is easy to install and regular product updates are provided. Also Sage 300 intelligence reports are easy to handle for a non-technical user.

Cons:

It is not flexible enough to be integrated with third party applications and systems. Also there are some issues in Sage which are yet to be resolved by their team.

My Sage 300 Review

Overall my experience using Sage 300 was great! Especially as it was the first larger accounting software I learned to use after Quickbooks.

Pros:

The security and access levels that Sage 300 offers is great for mid-large sized companies. If there ever is an issue their Customer Support team has always been able to help almost instantly.

Cons:

Could use a little revamp for Financial and other Reporting functions as that process still seems kind of clunky.
