Pros:

Onfolk has saved us time and money compared to our previous accountant-based payroll process. It's automated our payroll and also has the benefits of an HRIS, like holiday booking. The team finds it easy to use, and customer support is excellent.

Cons:

It doesn't yet have some of the features I would like but I have faith that they're building the most important ones.

Awesome time saver for startups

Onfolk has made our payroll and HR processes seamless. We started using it to streamline our payroll process after finding the previous process with our accountant too time-consuming. Onfolk has made payroll very efficient, and we then started using their HR features, which have made a positive impact on our onboarding process with their documents and task features.

Easy to use. Run's payroll seamlessly and integrated with other services Slack, Google Cal, HMRC, Xero to make it all effortless. Customer support is amazing.

Cons:

I can't hire people outside of the UK using it.

Easy to view payroll and manage time-off

Cons:

Works great if salaries are consistent and there are no leavers. Does not work very well for part-time workers and calculations for leaving bonuses are often wrong so have to be manually checked.

Perfect HR product

Onfolk is a great HR tool for startups, with a super-responsive team that has taken a lot of the hassle out of payroll for us.

effortlessly combines all aspects of HR admin, from tracking time off, different policies, document storage, personal details and a super slick payroll. The best part is the team is always on hand to help if you encounter any strange requirements and they are always improving.

Cons:

nothing really, any time a suggestion for improvement is made, within days or even less, the function appears as if by magic. The team are incredible.

Reasons for switching to Onfolk

Onfolk offered a significant improvement in functionality, and centralised many other aspects which were being stored across spreadsheets, in random folders and poorly maintained areas, into one, up to date and easy to use product that gave a single source of truth.

Easy to use and set up Onfolk allows us to automate various levels of payroll so the process of running payroll isn't time consuming and frees up time to focus on more important areas of the business.

Cons:

Slower making bulk changes to payroll (adding multiple lines of commission)

Better HR functionality which would mean additional software would not need to be subscribed to.

Great simple product - the SeedLegals of payroll & HR

Great, simple to use, great customer support when necessary, great to see new features added in when we report something which doesn't work / could be improved.

Favourite features: Integration with Slack, one button to submit payroll, easy to onboard a new joiner

Cons:

When a new joined is added, they automatically get enrolled in Maternity / Paternity leave which we added, would be good if this was off by default and manually have to be added on

We prefer the agility and thinking of a startup, we knew you'd be upgrading the product quickly and efficiently depending on user need. Brightpay is pretty old fashioned, we prefer using something modern

OnFolk has provided us with excellent service! They have been outstanding in their response time and problem solving, making our experience with them seamless

Cons:

We are a start up and have grown as OnFolk have grown, so the excellent suppport has more than made up for the slowly building feature set, which continues to impress me as it evolves. I think maybe publicising the timeline of features as they are revealed may well have helped along the way.

We believed we could work more closely with a start up that was of a like-mind i.e. trying to do something fresh and original in a congested space. Supporting other start ups is important to us, and OnFolk have come through on that trust.

We've been using Onfolk for the past 18 months, and it's the best payroll software we've used. They have a community of users where you can give feedback, and they act on it rapidly. The software integrates seamlessly with all our people operations, and the team is responsive and supportive. We highly recommend it.
