About B2W Schedule

B2W Schedule software for heavy civil construction scheduling and dispatching is a centralized, online solution for managing employees, crews, equipment, materials, and trucking across job locations and over time. Employees throughout an organization can view, enter, and manage assignments and needs in real-time. Role-specific visibility and access allow communication and collaboration across workflows to assist contractors in reducing inefficiencies and downtime.

The B2W scheduling software provides desktop and mobile functionality. Users can customize how they view the schedule and manage assignments with drag-and-drop simplicity. A map view verifies asset location, and the system can push notifications about assignments and changes by email or text message.

B2W Schedule is part of the B2W Software ONE Platform and can be unified with B2W applications for field tracking and equipment maintenance for real-time sharing of data related to resource needs, assignments, and equipment status.

    A user friendly tool for planning and scheduling

    Construction and crew based scheduling is the most beneficial part of this tool. The scheduling can be updated on hourly or daily basis. Exporting scheduling assignments is also very convenient and helpful as it makes the jobs of the crew members very easy.

    The implementation of this software in our research work has helped our research team a lot and brought a lot of broken work flows to the surface.B2W has not only made the scheduling and planning easer for us, it has also allowed us to track and capture costs in a more efficient and detailed manner.
    Cons:
    The reports are not easily customizable. This is the only flaw, otherwise this is an excellent and a user friendly software.

    B2W is more user friendly and it covers all the flaws which were in MS Project.

    The ability to associate Crews with Production Targets. The ability to create custom views within the system. The system is "live" at all times so that all changes are immediately displayed. The ability to track materials at locations/jobs.
    Cons:
    The speed of the system is an issue when adding to the schedule as each action requires the system to refresh. The inability to "move" multiple crew assignments or production targets simultaneously. Should be able to "select" multiple and move all at once. Need to add the ability to use Schedule for aggregate, asphalt and concrete manufacturing facilities including mix designs and inventories.

    It's great to be able to track employees, equipment, build out crews and assign work assignments and equipment moves.
    Cons:
    It's a bit of work on the setup and must make sure things get moved in the system so it is accurate with where you're equipment may physically be. Also setup of our jobsites is difficult since our jobsite moves daily in road construction versus vertical building where the jobsite address is always the same.

    B2W Schedule impact on our Construction Season

    Before using B2W Schedule we were using a combination of MS Project and MS Excel. The entire process was manual and very time consuming. We are a seasonal construction business and every day counts, so by having the flexibility of B2W Schedule to see day by day, or weeks at a time, all of our scheduled jobs- it has a huge impact in how much work we can get done during the sunny days we have. And if rains- the push/pull functionality has been a tremendous time saver!

    Integration with Viewpoint Vista is the most valuable part of this platform. Taking the manual steps of creating a schedule in Excel or MS Project has been an enormous time saver. Also, integrations with Track have been very helpful to our road construction crews. They can see in real time what is happening with their scheduled jobs.
    Cons:
    What do I like least...that it doesn't build the schedule for us automatically using AI? Just kidding- this is our second season using Schedule and it just keeps getting better. The B2W team listens to our concerns and requests and almost always has a solution in development.

    We were already invested in B2W Estimate, Track, and Inform- and it just made sense for us to add another layer of the B2W platform into the mix. Since we already have the connection with our ERP system Viewpoint Vista- it was an easy decision to try Schedule.

    A great transition from paper schedules to B2W Schedule.

    Overall the transition was a great experience. We are much more efficient with our planning and forecasting, and enjoy the integration with B2W Estimate and Tracks.

    The crew based scheduling is likely the most useful part of the program. We are easily able to build and change crews on the fly, on a daily basis. Exporting scheduling assignments directly to B2W Tracks is also handy as it makes the Foreman's job to fill out their paperless timesheet very easy.
    Cons:
    The only two downsides to this program are that there isnt an easy way to distinguish between day and nights (different colours on the schedule would be key), and the reports are not very customizable. We run both day and night shifts daily, and they often roll the next days dayshift on the same report as tonight's night shift.

    The one item that always hold true for me. B2W does not fix your problems, it is a tool to do so. The implementation and working with our division has brought a lot of broken work flows to the surface.

    B2W has brought us into the 21st century. As we were using multiple forms of data capture in the field. It has allows us to be more transparent as an Equipment division. It has also allowed us to capture and track costs in a more efficient detailed manner.
    Cons:
    We went through our implementation in the midst of a global pandemic. Which proved to be trying on our end. Although this allowed us to be more engaged as managers in the ownership of the product. The pandemic has caused us to slow the roll out of the product.
