About Descartes Fleet Management

Descartes Route Planning, Optimization & Dispatch is a cloud-based fleet management solution that enables medium and large enterprises in the logistics industry to manage delivery routes, orders confirmations, client interactions and other business processes. Key features include fleet operation management, route scheduling, compliance tracking and dispatch administration.

Descartes Route Planning, Optimization & Dispatch enables businesses to track on-field drivers’ data in real-time such as delivery packages, mileage, inventory, exception handling, productivity and more. It helps dispatchers’ access and update estimated time of arrival and provide drivers real-time visibility of order movements, cancellations and delays across multi-stop locations using visual mapping tools. Additionally, it comes with a business intelligence module, which allows users to gain insights into operations, reports and queries, facilitating growth and return on investments.

It supports mobile access which enables users to track inventory information from remote locations. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via phone, email and documentation.

Transforming Route Planning at Stop Start Transport

Overall, my experience with Route Planning, Optimization & Dispatch was really positive. Once everything was set up, the system made day-to-day planning so much smoother. It was easy to use, super helpful with last-minute changes, and the customer notifications were a big plus. The setup took a bit of time, but the support from the Descartes team was solid and made a real difference. It definitely helped us run things more efficiently.

Pros:

What I liked most about Descartes was how easy it was to use — really straightforward and didn’t take ages to get the hang of. The way it handled last-minute changes was a big win too; being able to tweak routes on the fly without messing everything up saved loads of hassle. And the ETA updates and customer notifications were spot on. They cut down a lot of the “where’s my delivery?” calls.

Cons:

What I liked least was probably the setup. It took a fair bit of time to get everything up and running the way we wanted. That said, the Descartes team were really supportive throughout and helped a lot, which definitely made the process smoother.

its a great product, gives you a clear understanding of what needs to be done and how to do it. works well when integrating with existing systems, the team work really well with you
