About Omnitracs One

Omnitracs One is a cloud-based fleet management platform that helps organizations manage route planning and vehicle delivery. The solution enables commercial fleet owners to manage six aspects of fleet management: compliance, data and analytics, planning and delivery, productivity, safety and security and transportation management. Omnitracs is designed for midsize to large businesses across various industry verticals such as trucking, construction, delivery service and heavy equipment.

The vehicle route planning feature considers business limitations around vehicles, orders, workers and compliance to find the optimal route. Routes can also be pre-planned by managers to handle issues such as long-term traffic, resource crises and seasonal peak volumes. The solution enables drivers to scan and upload important documents from the vehicle which allows businesses to create or modify operational strategies in real time.

Omnitracs One is compliant with FMCSA, DOT, IFTA and ELD regulations which enables managers to avoid potential violations. Services are offered on a monthly subscription basis with support available via email and phone.

    Familiarity with software and integration with cost metrics. We have used some version of this product for many years so it's woven into our workflows.
    Cons:
    Lack of customer support in recent years and changing sets of contacts in sales/support frequently. Lots of disparity between arms of the company. Difficult to see what the roadmap looks like and what is coming or will be fixed.

    I love their performance monitoring and some other lovely features.
    Cons:
    Update failures cause workflow issues: If 2-3 updates fail, the workflow tends to get stuck, causing delays. Inaccurate date range selection: The system struggles to pull data for a precise date range when generating reports. It often extracts data outside the specified period, relying on extraction cycles rather than exact dates. For example, if March data is requested, the system may also pull February data because the last signal was received during that month. Need to improve technology: The platform's technology needs an upgrade to better handle specific requirements, such as precise data extraction, smoother updates, and overall system reliability.

    Overall we've had a positive experience with Omnitracs. I don't personally have a great frame of reference for comparison, but I can't imagine there's something significantly better for our needs out there as this checks all the boxes.

    Omnitracs was reliable and offered everything we needed from a technology stance. Tracking of vehicles was effective and was helpful in normal operations and emergency situations (we could tell emergency services nearly exactly where the truck was if the driver was unreachable). Audits and searches were generally easy to use and gave you the information you were seeking. The website has some helpful resources, and the singular time I reached out for assistance the process was smoother than expected and I was pleased with their help.
    Cons:
    The admin side of Omnitracs was clunky at times. There are still boxes/features that most folks aren't sure how to use or what they're for. It isn't as intuitive as some software, but that doesn't detract from the functionality.

    Hate it! Hard to read, no support, no description or users manual. What a waste of money

    How impossible it us to read such small fine print on daily logs, using a font color that's a shade lighter than the background si ypu have to get a fricking magnifying glass and a dimly lit room just ro read them

    The app logged me into a truck in the middle of the night, TWICE! ON MY DAY OFF, DURING MY 36 HOUR RESET! when I went back to work, it out the incidents in with the others. I couldn't go forward without accepting them! Now I'm stuck in a hotel waiting for a reset! I may quit this company and it would all be omnitracs fault!

    Poor customer service.

    Awful. customer service is the worst. wont return phone calls. Wont take back unit. They admit wrong and wont do anything about it.

    never worked correct. shuts off in chicago and starts back up in MA. 5 minute ping time is way to long.customer service sucked

    The easy way to edit logs for drivers that have made a mistake.
    Cons:
    Customer service is completely atrocious. One person would tell you one thing and another person another thing. The system is completely backwards. So difficult to use along with the online system. Will never go back to OmniTracs! Way too expensive for what you get.
