About RIB Candy

Candy helps businesses in the construction industry manage project pricing and planning, quantity take-off, and controlling at the site level. Key features include bid management, a building product database, quote management, scheduling, change orders, progress tracking, and budget management.

Engineers using Candy can forecast quantities, values, and resources based on information related to valuation and estimates in order to facilitate project planning. The cash flow module allows users to test variations by using data gathered from both estimates and project programs and build a financial model of the project. Additionally, the cost control capabilities of the system promote Earned Value Management (EVM) that helps teams control and measure the project's performance.

Feature-Rich Software That Needs a User Experience and Workflow Refresh

It is a powerful tool with solid functionality and excellent support, but modernizing the interface and simplifying post-tender workflows would significantly enhance its value

Pros:

RIB Candy covers everything from pre-tender to post-tender project control seamlessly. The tools and reports meet all our requirements. I use the Estimation module extensively, and it's proven to be good and efficient for our daily work. The customer service team is responsive and always ready to help.

Cons:

The interface feels outdated and overly complicated, which impacts usability. The Post-Tender Project Tools are tedious to navigate. Finding required documents is difficult, and the EVM workflow needs significant improvement to be more intuitive and user-friendly. It is difficult to track tasks.

Candy in my workspace...

I would definitely recommend Candy to any Construction business. You have to keep up with changing times to stay ahead of your competition and Candy is one of the best ways to do so. The courses that you can do with the program is also fantastic and you learn so much.

Pros:

What I like most about Candy is the ease of using the product. Once you are set up and start going it makes your work a lot easier. It safes time and money, and in business time is money. I love how I can do my programming, subcontracting and pricing all at once. Project Management is made more efficient with Candy.

Cons:

Initially getting all the "meat" for estimating of projects (Masters) can be a challenge. Pricing per license can get a little expensive if you do not make use of the program a lot.

CCS is the best Construction Software Tool in the World

I have been working with Candy since 2006 and have always had nothing but positive experiences with them, they have professional and informed staff who will always sort your problems out with a solution no matter the magnitude

Pros:

The CCS software has the best customer support. the software is the most reliable and accurate product available, its ease of use and the multitude of reporting functions for job analysis is second to none. The software updates are always seeking ways to improve the users experience and accuracy

Cons:

The licence costs are high, but in their defence this product is unmatched by the competition. The software for some reason does not function as efficiently (fast) when its being run over a WIFI conneciotn instead of a hard line (ethernet)

I attended training in the software and it became immediately apparrent how powerful a tool the Candy system was. we have been using CCS since 2006

“Great support and efficient tool, but room for stability improvement”

Overall, my experience with RIB Candy has been very positive. The tool is user-friendly, reliable, and offers excellent support. It helps save time, improve productivity, and provides everything needed in one platform.

Pros:

I liked their quick support and response. The application looks simple, but it does a lot of great things in a short time. All the add-ins are available inside the app itself, so there is no need to go further. Installation and product updates are also very simple

Cons:

Sometimes it crashes when opening multiple projects at the same time. also the user ionterface look alittle bit old and need more graphics to make it easty to use

Time saving Candy.

It revolutionized my work, allowing me to measure and capture the information on the same platform without files full of printed plans and measuring paper. Candy also halved the time it takes me to do the same work, simply because I do not have to copy handwritten work into some software program.

Pros:

I consider Candy to be great value for money. It enabled me to go paperless to a large extent. The integration with QTO is exceptional to me since it can handle both PDF and DWG files, making measurements easy and precise.

Cons:

The program lacks Windows shortcuts like Ctr+C etc. which makes it time consuming to perform basic task like copy and paste.

Candy was suggested to me by a friend and he demonstrated it to me, showing me the advantages of Candy over Excel.

This software is a must for every estimator who seeks accuracy, control, ability to analyse, cost control, quantity take off, and many many other essential features.

Cons:

I have not encountered serious issues, the support team in the UAE is excellent and professional enough to solve any issue.

Good really enjoy it. It helps you track all the different disciplines on the project in one place. It really helps on multi discipline projects to not lose track.

Pros:

Having most of all the different tabs in one easy tool. Where I can jump from the costing to the program to plant histograms all in one. The costing and program tracking must also be one of the best features.

Cons:

No undo button :) The integration with other software's is sometimes a problem since not all project consultants use candy programming.

The software is very powerful for handling complex bills of quantities and estimating. I also like how it integrates programming and project planning.

Cons:

The learning curve is steep. Users need proper training to unlock its full potential. Licencing costs are also relatively high.
