About edX

edX is an education and eLearning software designed to help businesses create pathways and access self-paced courses to train employees. Managers can provide shareable certificates to staff members on the completion of training programs.

The platform enables administrators to gain insights into learners’ progress and other actionable data on a centralized dashboard. Additionally, edX provides MicroMasters Programs, allowing teams to study graduate-level courses related to specific career fields.

edX offers an application programming interface (API), which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications including SAP SuccessFactors, EdCast, Cornerstone and Degreed. I love it! It is like going to university but from the comfort of my home. I get access to amazing professors, great concepts, and written materials and tests. Plus a nice certification waiting at the end.

Cons:

The limited time to browse the course. The course is archived but you don't have access to it if you did not pay for the certification.

Definitely worth it for me

I completed a MicroMasters from MIT and found it extremely valuable. Now, I have access to the MIT Alumni Network, which provides me with podcasts, journals, and ebooks on cutting-edge topics

My overall experience with edX is good but it is a little bit expensive.

Pros:

I like that the courses on edX are offered by accredited institutions like big companies like IBM or global universities like Harvard, not just anybody can publish a course on edX. Also, I love that edX contains specializations that consist of sub-courses that take me from the beginner level to the advanced level without needing to switch to another course.

Cons:

I don't love the interface of edX as it is not friendly and doesn't encourage studying. The cost of the certificate is very expensive if I want to obtain it. Also, I face some issues with the subtitles as some of the content doesn't have any subtitles even in English.

edX offers courses from many world class universities, an easy enrollment and a friendly guiding through the course. By an affordable price we can get a certificate. Videos and texts, recommended readings and test make easy the learning process and encourage students to achive the course objectives.

Cons:

There are not cons, I hope edX continues growing and adding courses to the catalog. I certanly recommend edX to peers and colleges.

Pros:

I like the video feature of the edX. The video is mapped with the text and we can simply select the text and the video is mapped accordingly. If the course time has ended then we can get an archived file with all videos and required information. It is so easy to track my progress.

Cons:

There are limited courses. I was looking for the Automation using Cypress tool but the course is not available so user is bind to learn what edX contains. I like almost everything of edX and I recommend this to others too.

Pros:

Edx has a very intuitive design that lets you navigate through many courses and programs with the same structure so you don't get lost, besides multimedia and tex content is nicely integrated

Cons:

It would be nice to have an option to mark certain content as favorite and make some notes regarding training materials that may be shared to 3rd party apps
