Ideagen Quality Control 2026: Benefits, Features & Pricing

The software allows for an easy time bubbling and collecting data. It makes all the difference for the way you represent your drawings.

It seems to have trouble reading older drawings. I also feel that it is so simple that it can not ever do more

Once getting used to, it is fairly easy to use.

Has a few quirks to work out. These minor things usually gets worked out through support or an upgrade.

Provides a repository for ballooning and storing part prints that helps to keep our companies conversations surrounding features uniform across departments.

Very clunky to navigate with noticeable load times after nearly every click. Not easy to pick up and figure out naturally--recommend getting help from an experienced co-worker (or maybe looking for how-to's online).

The interface is smooth and the operation is clean, i can do everything i need do with it and it easily cuts days if not weeks out of my processes saving our company a good amount of money.

the cmm xpert isnt as easy as id hoped it would be. i need to compile sometimes 100s of data sets from the cmm but as of my capabilities now i can only do one part at a time.

I like the ability to create balloned drawings and export them directly to AS9102 forms and custom inspection documents.

I have not had any negative issues with using the software.

The design and subsequent layout is very user friendly, I personally I like that the different modules all have their own search boxes so that your Clipboard and "Mental Clipboard" don't have to keep numbers in them, they can be dumped in each module and referred back to in the future. I also find the search function across all modules to be very helpful considering the amount of records that my company has created.

I find the Audit module to be difficult to follow in regards to how the months are displayed visually, only the 12 months of the year are visible when the module opens. It has been my experience across various companies and corresponding industries that annaul Audits for example, are often performed after their scheduled date and would therefore not be visible, as an improvement I would reccomend expanding this to include the 3 months both proceeding & following the scheduled Audit month. I don't believe this would drastically effect the overall layout of the module window as currently there is a "dead space" between the ending of even our longest worded Audit Title until the 12 calendar months are shown. If it would not be too development and/or CPU intensive I would recommend an algorithim be implemented in to the search function of the Calibration module specifically that includes in the search results potential spelling errors within the Number, as again in my experience, many spelling mistakes are made on calibration labels/mis-interpretations of their spelling & numbering. For example the Number 053 may be written on a calibration sticker but be mis-interpreted as 058, 038, 088 etc when inputting on to Q-Pulse meaning it will not show up in the results when someone searches for what they have read on the sticker.

It make life easier, the balloning is way faster that ever and with all the software capabilities helps in our quality review for cost engineering.

Customer Service in Mexico is not the greastest.

The best thing about the Ideagen Quality Control is the Bubble drawing feature. And also extracting the words from the picture is also pretty useful and saves time when you do not need to type all that information from a drawing.

If the picture is not clear, the OCR extraction feature does not work great. The words needs to be very clear for that feature to work properly, or else, we have to waste time to correct all the grammatical errors. Also the numbering sometimes does not follow sequence, if we forget bubble something that we missed. The order of the bubble is hard to change.

Very design change friendly. Older revisions of technical drawings can be changed out with newer ones very quickly without tampering with the drawing. Minimal adjustment of balloon position is necessary in some case and this feature saves us thousands of dollars per year.

OCR sometimes does not work and you have to delete the measurement value and type it in manually this also applies to tolerances. This was experienced on .pdf files that were scanned in. Files that were exported from CAD directly did not exhibit this issue to the same extent. we do not do our own CAD work so we use InspectionXpert exclusively with customer supplied .pdf files.

Ease of use, ability to export to excel, drawing compare feature is awesome! Lots of flexibility and preferences can customize to your liking.

OCR is not good. I know they are working to improve it but it's so poor I wouldn't have even included it. I think a big part of this is due to customers having different fonts they use and I believe our font we use on most of our drawings was a big culprit. There is the ability to train your font to the OCR system and I believe they should of offered this as an option to customers, we would of paid for it. We use a NX font variation and was not able to get it into the correct format for training.
