Self Hosted, professionnal pentest report made easy

I tried multiple cybersecurity report tools, both open source and commercial ones. Reporter was the one that did it for us! Most of the self hosted tools were a little rough on the edge or lacking a key feature. Reporter has almost everything we need to provide the best services to our customers. The key features for us was : - the heavy customisable template engine - the collaboration feature with both customers and team members - the regular updates and new features - workflows and integrations - made by pentesters - the self hosted stand ! Reporter is now an essential part of our process and customer experience.

Pros:

Reporter is a very good tool that competes with some other non-European, not self-hosted, pricier options. It includes lots of features required for good pentest and reporting workflows.

Cons:

Some point might need more customisation options, like interface or notification systems. Pentest notes would also be nice to enhance collaboration.

Dark mode Request

I work as a pentester, so I use Reporter daily. What I like about it is the ease of use for adding findings to the report and also not having to worry about layout and text placement, etc.

Pros:

- Smooth and very clean UI - Structured view of findings. - Very readable reports. - Very good support.

Cons:

The white and bright theme. Because I have sensitive eyes, I really would like to see a dark mode theme option within reporter.

Reasons for switching to Reporter

Too expensive for what it offers. Additionally, the generated report still needed extra adjustments even after adding all findings to the report.

Reporter experience

Our experience is very positive. In our opinion Reporter is one of the best Pentest report tools on the market. We are very satisfied with the use of the tool, the ease it offers and the time it saves.

Pros:

Some things we really like: - Support and onboarding process - Self-hosted setup - The ease the create templates and pentest reports - Customization - Versioning and tracking changes - Findings database - Task sets Before Reporter we used Microsoft Word to create pentest reports. It is a relieve to not have to worrying about styling or layout stuff. Reporter does this all with a click on a button.

Cons:

Not much. But if I need to say something it should be the behavior of tables within a report.

Awesome product

We gain a lot of time with this tool because we can invest more time in penetration testing. Additionally, the review process and traceability are excellent.

The ability to easily adapt almost anything.

Cons:

The Import of some tools need more adapation so you can get more details in your Report. But at the end of the Day this is a Minor issue
