About Microsoft Lists

Microsoft Lists is a productivity software that helps businesses create lists to organize events, assets and issues. The platform enables managers to track and manage information across shareable lists on a unified interface.

Administrators can view recent and favorite lists and collaborate with colleagues on different items through comments and reminders. Microsoft Lists offers conditional formatting functionality, which allows teams to highlight important details and configure form elements. Additionally, supervisors can view lists in different formats including grid, gallery and calendar on a centralized dashboard.

Microsoft Lists lets stakeholders filter issues based on names, severity, status, and more, visualize data across event itineraries, and manage assets. Pricing is based on monthly and annual subscriptions and support is extended via phone, email, chat, FAQs, knowledge base and an online contact form.

Microsoft Lists is a great app for creating lists

    5

I use it to keep track of a number of items. I keep a list of gift ideas for my wife on there too. Any time she mentions she likes or wants something I jot it down.

We use Microsoft Lists to track client training records. Using Power Apps, we've been able to set reminders of upcoming expiry dates sent directly to the client.
    Cons:
Set up and use of Power Apps was difficult but once we got it nailed down, is pretty simple to repeat and maintain.

Reasons for switching to Microsoft Lists

Excel was not as visually appealing and didn't do everything we wanted it to do.

    Pros:
Lists has got to be the most underrated app available in the 365 suite. Few colleagues I speak to even know it exists - but it can do so much! If you are tracking data or managing processes with Excel, Lists is a great solution to make your data more stable and functional. There are so many integration and automation options to increase functionality. Having IT expertise helps take it to the next level (Power BI dashboards, etc.) but even just the basics are worth checking out.
    Cons:
The interface is a bit clunky and there is definitely a learning curve, but it's worth it. Take the time to learn about all the features and how to leverage it, and then build capacity within your organization to leverage what it can do.

My favorite thing about Lists is how easy it is to start. You can set up a new list from an existing spreadsheet with a single click. Other nice features include integration with an address book and the ability to easily access other documents from within the List.
    Cons:
It's pretty easy to do basic things, but to do advanced features some level of coding is necessary. And the online resources aren't very helpful for learning those things.
