List & Label is a professional report generator that enables software developers to add reporting functions to their application. It’s one of the most feature-rich report generators on the market.

It also extends applications with extensive and convenient print, export and preview functions. Developers retain control over data transfer and create the interface.

List & Label can be used to create lists, user-defined dashboards, invoices, labels and forms. List & Label is very flexible

Overall, my experience has been positive. Despite the fact that there is no out-of-the-box GUI IDE, there are code samples available which helped me develop my own, which I could tailor to my specific requirements. The support from Combit is fantastic, as it the help from the user forums.

Pros:

It's flexibility. The fact that it can connect to multiple data sources or none.

Cons:

There is no GUI report generator, no IDE. This has to be coded.

Reasons for choosing List & Label

Client-Server option. The others were web-based.

Reasons for switching to List & Label

The on-going support for Crystal Reports was in doubt at the time and my understanding is that SAP are not really investing in the product. In addition, I wanted a product that was client-server based, not web-based as the products I was integrating reporting into is client-server.

Der Bereich List & Label Server, die Erstellung von Reports ist hier für Endanwender nicht so intuitiv, ist aber strukturiert und ermöglichts ein schnelles erlernen.

List & Label bietet viele Möglichkeiten und hat einen großen Funktionsumfang. Der Support war immer sehr schnell und hilfreich bei Fragen und Problemen.

Cons:

Das tabellarischer erstellen von Berichten, Summenbildung im Gruppenkopf bei mehrstufigen Auswertungen könnte einfacher einfacher sein.

Noch keine Entscheidung getroffen, aktuell wird noch Crystal Report verwendet.

das beste aller Zeiten!

Da ich seit fünf Jahren Hunderte, vielleicht sogar Tausende von Formularen mit List & Label erstelle, bin ich sehr dankbar, ein so gut funktionierendes und benutzerfreundliches Programm nutzen zu können. Mithilfe einiger einfacher Formeln kann ich Dinge möglich machen, die sonst für unmöglich gehalten werden.

Pros:

Mir gefällt an List & Label am besten, dass es sehr flexibel und leistungsstark ist. Man kann damit schnell und einfach professionelle Reports, Rechnungen oder Etiketten erstellen, ohne viel Programmieraufwand. Besonders praktisch finde ich auch, dass es viele Exportformate unterstützt und sich gut in bestehende Anwendungen integrieren lässt.

Cons:

Was mir an List & Label am wenigsten gefällt, ist, dass die Einarbeitung anfangs etwas Zeit braucht. Es gibt sehr viele Funktionen, und bis man alle Möglichkeiten wirklich kennt, dauert es ein bisschen.

Die Einfachheit und Flexibilität die List & Label bietet ist für uns das Hauptkriterium. Es wird praktisch in jedem unserer Programme verwendet. Der Einstieg für neue Entwickler ist ebenfalls einfach. Dokumentation und Beispiele sind hervorragend. Die stetige Weiterentwicklung und die einfache Aktualisierung auf neue Versionen hilft uns immer auf dem aktuellen Stand zu bleiben. Im Forum oder per Mail wird immer direkt unkompliziert und kompetent geholfen. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mnit dem Produkt

Cons:

Bisher haben wir für uns keine relevanten Nachteile entdeckt. Wie unter „Vorteile“ zu lesen, passt das Produkt perfekt zu unserer Software.

Ein Partner für´s Leben

Wer stets die Updates implementiert, wird jedes zukünftige Problem lösen können. In schwierigen Programmieraufgaben wird man nicht alleine gelassen.

List & Label ist immer up to date, Hilfestellung geht bis hin zum gemeinsamen bearbeiten im Quellcode. Wichtige zukünftige Weiterentwicklungen werden sets von Update zu Update umgesetzt.

Cons:

Leider wurde die Weiterentwicklung für VB6 eingestellt. Dennoch gibt es für Notfälle kompetente Hilfestellung.

My favorite reporting tool

In my opinion the best reporting tool money can buy. German made. Great support. Had no hassle using it (VS/C#). One of my projects is a web app, ListLabel works flawless.

Ease of use, feature rich, no hassle integrating in VS with C#. I used crystal before - that's an awfull chunk of shit, compared with list & label.
