It caters to businesses of all sizes (across multiple industry verticals) and is compatible with Windows 7 or later. Primary features include bandwidth monitoring, alerts, data publishing, customization support, and reporting. PRTG a useful and easy to deploy tool

We started using PRTG with the demo and we realized that it had many functionalities such as email notification and others such as being able to monitor the traffic of an interface or the SNMP of a device and we decided to purchase the licensed version and it has been a great choice.

Pros:

What I like most about PRTG is that it is very easy to deploy, in addition to being very intuitive, it does not require much knowledge to configure it. It also has an APP for Android that is very useful and from which you can monitor the services.

Cons:

What I like least is that it is a little expensive compared to the competition.

Reasons for switching to PRTG

We changed it because we wanted a more efficient tool, one that was faster in notifications and also more user-friendly.

PRTG is not only easy to deploy but also easy to maintain, providing real-time alerts to infrastructure and server issues

Cons:

There's no mobile app with Azure SSO. The product has no another defects.

PRTG helps to keep an eye on a real-time network in use for an event

Tracking local network devices at an event, and with notifications when something is offline have greatly helped to reduce the stress of keeping an eye on device uptime. a local overview of the network has been a great tool

Pros:

there's a lot to it, as such, it covers alot of ground. I'm sure there are templates and possibly scripting that I haven't explored or discovered, but what I have used for monitoring remote events has worked really well.

Cons:

there's a bit of learning curve, and as time permits, I hope to eventually get to dig into it. An intro at maybe a simpler level would be nice, with maybe an incentive track to learn more in-depth usage

Easy to implement, web based and nearly agent less monitoring

It was easy to install and manage, it's helpling a lot with monitoring and alerting and it's aeasy to use. Also to adapt or tweak thresholds is very easy.

It's very easy to implement and for a lot of the user cases it does not need an agent or software to be installed

Cons:

For well known Enterprise Products e.g. VMWare VCenter there are only limited intergration available.

Reasons for switching to PRTG

Icinga was to complicated to setup and to use.

Proactive Network Management Made Easy

The overview that PRTG provides about network health and performance is incredibly important in detecting and resolving a possible security threat at its quickest. This proactive approach reduces our downtime a great deal and increases our overall security posture.

PRTG really excels at providing detailed network visibility. Customizable dashboards and real-time alerting enable strong security. The way this integrates with other existing systems, with deep reporting, makes my proactive management of risk much easier.

Cons:

While PRTG is feature-rich, the initial setup may be a little time-consuming. It would be nice if there were more streamlined configuration options for quicker deployment.
