Chronicle Online is a cloud-based time and attendance management solution designed for large and midsize businesses. Key features include employee self-service attendance, individual and team scheduling, data recovery and reporting tools. The solution is suitable for industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, aviation, construction and distribution.

Chronicle online allows users to create reports to track employee working hours, lunch breaks, overtime, lateness and payroll information. The calendar feature helps individuals and teams to manage schedules through booking shifts, as well as recording events such as sickness, holidays and planned absences. This enables users to track and manage paid and unpaid leave and generate payroll accordingly.

The solution also helps users to create a centralized database to maintain employee records such as contact information, holiday leave, sickness and absence entitlements. Users can export reports in PDF formats.

Excellent system for small to medium companies, feature-rich and easy to use

Much better information flow about employees and a big reduction in the time required to prepare payroll

Pros:

The modern interface is easy to navigate for our non-technical users but the shift rules engine is much better than other systems we've tried. We find the software works around us rather than us having to work around it!

Cons:

We would like to add some access control doors to the system, but I understand that this is on the roadmap so we're looking forward to seeing that arrive

Chronicle T&A review after 6 months of use

Overall we are happy with the system so far. It helped us to minimize the errors and the amount of time which we used for processing the paper timesheets. The clocking device is easy to use and all the employees are happy with the change.

Pros:

Compared to other similar systems on the market, Chronicle appeared to be very intuitive and easy to use, and I was not wrong. The setup process was smooth and quicker than anticipated. The support was always available when we needed it. We had a super helpful project manager [sensitive content hidden] who helped us in setting up the system and with training. Reports are very well designed. The navigation screen is easy to use and accessing the attendance and employees information is done with a couple of clicks. The system has a lot of tools and options to use as your business grows. It is well designed for small as well as for large businesses.

Cons:

Overall the system works flawlessly, but some minor things/aspects can be improved. For example the "attendance view" has the print option which is not functional. Would be useful to be able to print a monthly view instead of generating a report and analyse the data. Another aspect to improve is the cost centres (geofencing). Currently the system does not restrict/deny app clocking-in outside the range of a defined costing centre. It is only raising an exception. You can setup the system only to deny clocking in specific areas. Instead would be useful to be able to create green zones were employees can clock in/out and exclude everything else.

Pros:

The customer support when we setting uo was brilliant - we are 24 hour opeartional so shift patterns were quite complex. Great to use across all business functions and the reports are invaluable.

Cons:

We used this as a free trial and are testing other software to see what is best for us but there are no cons to write about that we have encountered.

Easy Set up

Very good their Sales Director, was a nice guy to deal with and very patient. It seems like they're very accommodating to feature requests as well.

Pros:

For an SME like us, this T&A software is great. Plenty of handy features off the shelf and easy to set up. It was an interesting project to work on and the free trial enabled us to buy with confidence. Our HR team are happy and it's made the tracking and logging of staff time and attendance much easier.

Cons:

We're based in Australia so time difference caused a few onboarding challenges, nothing systems related though.
