Best Employee Engagement Experience of my 30 yrs of corporate experience

Our company has set it up to prompt for responses on Friday afternoon. But you can give Kudos at any time. Sometimes its a competition to see who gives the most Kudos. Again easy to use.

I liked the ease of use(Kudos button is everywhere) and the prompts to remind you to Kudos. Always a little fun every Friday when we run it. Like the recap on Mondays as well.

Cons:

Nothing really. Easy to use and intuative.

Reasons for switching to Matter

Cost and Slack integration, I believe. But I think Matter has been a great improvement over 15Five.

Matter changed my mind about team shout out platforms

I've been at many companies with variously failed systems to "shout out" team members. No one is going to log into a separate system to look at a feed, and while a written shout out is nice... if there's no value attached other than "nice," no one cares. Matter is different. There is real value attached but at a flexible and low cost to the company. Their Feedback Fridays in Slack have motivated an awesome culture of thanking people publicly for their help, and as a manager, it gives me a quick way to thank a team member for going above and beyond. I've always hated this TYPE of system, but I love Matter.

Easy integration & customization within Slack, so easy to add to multiple channels to provide shoutouts across different teams, fosters a fantastic sense of community and gives a quick and easy way to appreciate team members going the extra mile.

Cons:

The only con I have to offer here is the formatting of Kudos messages - we have a lot of fantastically creative people on the team who would love the ability to build little cards themselves rather than using stock fonts and basic colour backgrounds

Remote first? Matter matters

I wasn't sure at first since I hadn't used a system like this before. But now that I've used it for over a year I think it's really valuable. Getting folks to think slightly larger than themselves through peer recognition and surveys helps a remote-first team stay connected.

For a remote-first company, Matter encourages engagement and peer recognition among team members. It also supports the management team taking the pulse of how people are feeling and what they are thinking about.

Cons:

It can be a little pushy to get responses. This might be a configuration option though.
