Good Nesting Software

My overall experience is Pronest works well, and technical support is the best in the business. I feel Pronest gives us the best cut possible on our machine and less cutting issues while running the machine. To get the most out of a Hypertherm plasma, I think Pronest is the way to go.

Pros:

Easy to use. Enables advanced features of our HPR plasma system (True Hole, Fine Feature, SureCut). Customer performance, as with all Hypertherm products, is the best out there. Tech Support even helped me make custom report templates for our labels.

Cons:

Modules for software features that are standard on some other software are an add-on which comes a hefty price and increases the yearly maintenance fee. These features include advanced plasma (for their own plasma systems), autonesting, skeleton cut-up, common line cutting, etc.

Reasons for switching to ProNest

CAMduct did not support the advanced plasma features of the HPR series plasma, primarily True Hole. ProNest also had all the correct tested cutting speeds from Hypertherm entered into the software.

Cutting Edge Software

ProNest allows us to save time,material and labour costs.It allows you to put your product out at a more competitive price. You don't know what your capabilities are until you've tried the software.

Pros:

The multiple functions that it can perform to make jobs less than a task is unbelievable. There are more features than probably required for any user,but they are there. I use it with a Design2fab program and the two mesh seamlessly .

Cons:

I don't believe there are features that need much , if any improvement. It's usually just a matter of tweeking whats there to get the desired result. Updates usually roll out improvements and refine any issues.

Pro Nest in education

Very technical for part of the software--may be my learning curve, but the pro nest software can do whatever I need once we get the drawing done. Overall very satisfied.

Wide range of abilities and real world applications.

Cons:

Can be complicated at times, A lot of steps to get to the end point of your cut job, Some ghost cuts or differences from the cad drawing to the cutter, However, this seems to be rare.

Great software, so much better than the software that actually came with my CNC machine

Saving a lot of $$$ that used to be wasted on excess material lost.

Nesting feature and easy to edit lead ins and outs.

Cons:

Not sure if I like the CAD software that comes with it. Could be that I'm just not familiar with it and are more familiar with my current CAD software. Cool thing is that I can use either.

Reasons for switching to ProNest

StarCad is horrible software with no demo videos or tech support. Anytime I've had an issue with ProNest it was user error but tech support was easy to get on the phone and patiently worked me through it.
