About Square Payments

Square Payments is a cloud-based payment processing tool for businesses within the retail, food and beverage, and health and fitness industries. Key features include fraud prevention, dispute management, touch-free transactions, automated invoicing, and cash flow monitoring.

Square Payments’ built-in analytics uses machine learning to track fraudulent activities and monitor transactions in real-time. It can send automatic alerts on suspicious activities. Automatic receipts speed up the checkout processes and ensure a digital record of all purchases is kept. Additionally, this tool comes with an activity dashboard, which consolidates all customer data and provides timely updates on sales and inventory.

Square Payments is available on a per-transaction basis and support is provided via documentation, forums, emails, phone, FAQs, and video tutorials. The application involves Terminal API and Reader SDK to streamline payment processing and offers integrations with third-party point-of-sale software and service providers including Mailchimp, Ritual, WooCommerce, and Intuit QuickBooks.

Great, but…fare increase

It’s good- just becoming harder with their rate increases. Everyone has a paid membership to get more benefits. No just want to do business and not get eaten alive with cc fees

Pros:

It’s easy to use, and I don’t have to think about it at all. It’s pretty seamless and user friendly.

Cons:

Obviously no one cares for cc rate increase hikes, and I don’t like how they have a “elite” club or whatever it is to join and if you do, you get a lesser rate.

Reasons for switching to Square Payments

Harbortouch charged me way too much and the fees were excessive. They lied to me and told me I was going to be credited and then didn’t. And changed the amount they owed me.

Great Product!

Myself and several other friends and business friends enjoy using the Square software in our business. It makes collecting payment from customers incredibly easy and is more legit and secure than Venmo or PayPal. Allowing credit card payments opens up more potential customers from any type of business.

Myself and several other busnieness owners I know all love Square! Its incredibly simple yet efficent at receiving payments. I enjoy the secure features that it has such as the needed code connected to your cell phone number in order to get into the account. I havent had any issues in the past few years of using it and am incredibly pleased.

Cons:

I have no issues, concerns or complaints about Square! It worked great the past several years of using it!

Fast, flexible, low cost payment processing

Great product to process cards on, and gifts cards. Lower fees and fuss free payments what more can you want or need.

Very easy to use and manage and payments arrive swiftly. Never had any issues in processing any cards

Cons:

I wish the api was easier to interface into and that more developers produced plug ins as the range seems limited.

Massive Incompetence

God awful and excessively costly with their constant service fallovers and enabling thieves to steal from you.

Nothing, they have no accountability, no decency, and no competency whatsoever. Fools and clowns.

Cons:

Fraudulent chargeback by a mentally challenged thief that posted photos of his received good publicly. Provided that to Square to appeal the illegal chargeback, and they failed! It couldn't have been easier to win, yet they force you to let them respond on your behalf and screw it up majorly, then refuse to identify the thief so you can fix it in civil court. Disgusting incompetence with no accountability. Don't end up stuck with them like me because of hardware investments, they are beyond awful and will lose your money time and time again.

The ease of use for taking donations. It provided payment processing that was convenient, and the transaction fee was reasonable.

I did not utilize it as often as I would have liked, mainly because it was out of mind. I did not receive enough marketing information and ongoing communications

From using square payments as it’s easy to use as there’s No need for expensive POS systems. You just Download the app, attach a card reader.

Reliable quick way to accept payments

We used Square Payments for a golf tournament and it worked exceptionally well. We didn’t run into any issues during the whole day. I would recommend this for any type of small business.

Cons:

Delays in funding can sometimes occur, which is slightly annoying. Also, you need to make sure you have reliable internet access.
