Costimize FinOps Tool

The experience with costimze has been excellent, the team their is very knowledgeable and fantastic to work with. They work on features that matter to you and their product excels because of that.

Pros:

Costimize has features that makes finding opportunities for saving money in the cloud easier for the consumer. For example, our client had a huge BigQuery spend in GCP and we were unsure where to start on cutting down on the cost. We were able to implement costimize and use their largest queries feature to reduce the size of their queries and their cost went down by 50%. In addition, the dashboards within costimize are very sleek and communicate the information needed very well.

Cons:

Further building out their AWS and Azure presence will be very helpful for us.

Reasons for switching to Costimize

They had a weak presence within GCP and did not have functional features.

Pros:

I found Costimize helpful for our special case mostly on three areas: * The tool's ability to surface waste in our GCP setup, which allowed us to realize good savings * The budgeting feature as it aligned with our need to define budgets at multiple levels and still be able to keep track of them in a holistic way * The team's openness and reactiveness to feedback. They've implemented features and improvements based on our feedback, always paying attention to their customer's needs

Cons:

Mainly the fact that it's a tool built by engineers for engineers: I think the overall UX and design could be improved to provide a much smoother user experience.

Cons:

Initially, there is a learning curve, but the system is quite intuitive and the support team is very responsive in helping us get up to speed quickly.
