Easy to use agile retrospective tool

I've greatly enjoyed using TeamRetro and find it a helpful way to facilitate retrospectives quickly. As I'm juggling four teams right now, it helps me to facilitate all of their needs right now. I like to mix my retros up, so I have to be creative at times to run a retrospective that is a little different from the TeamRetro format.

Pros:

TeamRetro allows for fast and easy managing of retrospective activities. I like how easy it is to create an activity, message a link out to all participants, and track actions identified during the retrospective. The summary page it creates at the end of the retro is very helpful to remind participants what happened and the new actions for the team.

Cons:

TeamRetro does prescribe a particular activity set that starts with ideas, then grouping, then voting, and then discussion. If you have a different retro concept in mind, it will force you to get creative. I've had to create multiple retrospectives and link each one to the team if I want to do something that deviates from TeamRetro's norm.

Reasons for choosing TeamRetro

I found TeamRetro more user friendly at the time of purchase over Retrium. I actually still use Metro Retro, but it is currently a free product. I may reconsider my stance once the paid version of Metro Retro is released.

Making our retros better, funnier, and easier than ever

Facilitating retrospectives and team health are two key and recurrent events on our company, and since we switched to TeamRetro all our users are really happy doing it, and they just focus on the process always feeling supported by the tool.

Pros:

The UX is just great, and makes it really natural and intuitive, with all the steps involved on the retro are fantastic and fully supported with timers, voting, grouping, presentation mode, summary, actions, etc.In this way, any user could facilite a retro without training, and the features, and flexibility allows each team to perform them in its own way.

Cons:

Although it is super easy to export the results of a retro to files like excel and PDF, or directly to publish it into Confluence, there is a room of improvement to customize them in a way that allow us to collect the information as we need it.

Reasons for switching to TeamRetro

Trello is great for task management with the kanban board, but a lot of the retro stuff should be done ad-hoc on top of it, which is not ideal and require extra effort to the facilitator, and some times is quite counterintuitive.

Good tool for retros

Good value for money, would not trade it for another tool. A bit annoyed with the slow/buggy performance of grouping.

It's a good tool to use for retro's and futurespectives - gathers notes, actions & ways of working agreements nicely. Quite easy to use.

Cons:

Lacks some on the UI side, it is not fully intuitive how to start/end timer, music and/or mark that you are finished in some steps of the user journey. I like some of the AI grouping, but it also feels like it drags down the performance/experience while grouping as the tool often feels slow and buggy while grouping.

Awesome Retro Facilitator

There is no other product on the market that delivers this number of features at this level of quality at this price. It is extremely valuable for a remote teams, but we also found value using it for in person retros for its organization, anonymous capabilities, and reporting.

Efficient, Handy and User-friendly tool

As a Scrum Master, I’ve found your tool invaluable for facilitating team discussions. The variety of retrospective templates, to-do dashboard, project health charts, and timeboxing with background music make it a great resource. The cross-department insights dashboard is also excellent for tracking department health. Anyone who (from executive team to department managers) enjoys coaching their team (either/both for performance or/and development coaching )using data-driven methods will appreciate the reports and insights RetroTeam provides.

Cons:

I wish for a more flexible option to switch between team-based and participant-based payment plans. As a small organization with fewer than 100 employees, we want to organize multiple teams, but we don't typically have more than 25 participants per team.

Online retrospective without the hassle

Facilitating a meaningful agile retrospective is challenging as it is, even more, when your teammates are working remotely. TeamRetro allows me to run an engaging meeting for everyone whether they are remote or co-located, focusing on the actions and conversations instead of technical difficulties.

Pros:

It's easy to use and very intuitive for everyone, no matter their previous experience. It just encourages collaboration between people with every feature - from the customizable timer, grouping, voting, and comments. Built-in templates allow me to easily introduce new people to the challenge of facilitation and new retrospective techniques.

Cons:

I'd love to see some new options to share and download a summary of finished retrospective, like a jpeg with an overview of the whole brainstorming board. Currently, I can only download it as a pdf, which sometimes can split board overview into several pages.

Easy to use and Engage Teams in Retrospectives

A very positive experience that I have now come to rely on Team Retro to be able to monitor and keep engagement on multiple Engineering Teams.

Easy to use and keep a pulse on multiple teams. Allows to create actionable follow-up items that are implementable as well as creating a safe space to allow all team members to engage and participate. The variety of options and health checks has had positive feedback from the teams to ensure retrospectives to not always follow the same monotony. The teams enjoy doing the Health Checks every few months sna dthe results have led to positive changes and improvements from management teams

Cons:

Although a little expensive, the ease of use and manageability of the different action points for the teams balances out this point for me
