Baseplan for the Dry Hire business

A system that works well with minimal configuration out of the box. Can be a challenging learning curve, and internal business change management needs to be considered when addressing implementation. The product is supported by an exceptional team who are a pleasure to work with and their guidance should be taken when developing the product for roll-out to the business.

Pros:

Baseplan is a fully integrated ERP system that is capable of managing our Rental business without any requirement to change source code to meet our reporting requirements. Configuration is simple and can provide the business with industry specific support; while still maintaining the bespoke reporting required by the business.

Cons:

Our system configuration utilises a Remote Desktop Service setup across multiple locations and users can experience slowness in system response times. Some of the screen layouts/cursor progressions can be a little confusing.

Reasons for choosing Baseplan

Baseplan's main focus was equipment rental and Service management; which matched our business requirements, without the need for add-ons or integrations or bespoke development. It was able to be implemented in a very short time-frame.

Reasons for switching to Baseplan

The support team / third party provider defaulted on their agreed provision of services.

Baseplan Review

Over the 15 years we were with Baseplan Valiant went through a number of ups and downs with them. The company ended up working outside of the system and primarily using it for tax invoices only.

Pros:

The positive to Baseplan is that the software encompassed all aspects of the sale cycle and also allowed Valiant to run its accounting through the system as well.

Cons:

The software was not moving fast enough for Valiant, things would change / update with new releases and things that were once a feature disappear or change, customer service was not really a thing, the system required a lot of server space and it was very clunky.
