Workday delivers user and administrative tools across financials, HR, planning, talent, payroll, analytics, student, and more from a single system.

Workday’s Financial Management solutions include accounting and finance, revenue management, reporting and analytics, consolidating and closing, revenue management, accounting center, financial planning, expenses, procurement, and project accounting. Audit tools, inventory management, and grants management are also included. The Prism Analytics module allows users to upload data from other software solutions to create consolidated reports.

Pricing is based on monthly subscriptions and support is offered via email and through an online help desk.

Workday Payroll System

My overall experience with Workday has been pleasant and easy to understand. I like the reminders it sends if it's time to submit myu time card.

Pros:

Workdah is very user friendly when it comes to entering and submitting my hours. I also like that I have a HR section to see notification from HR. I like that it lets you manage my vacation leave and sick leave

Cons:

It requires me to change my password to often and I have a hard time remembering my password sometimes because I have so many. I don't like that you have to call I.T. to obtain my new password if I forget it

My overall experience with workday is a positive experience since I did become proficient in using it. I liked how user friendly it was.

One of the features I liked the most on workday is the design . It breaks all categories into a list and you can click through.

Cons:

The con is that it can become confusing until you get the hang of it. I found the way to request paid time to be confusing.

Workday is the worst!!!

I've had a terrible experience with Workday and do not like it. It takes too much time to do anything.

The only thing I like about Workday is the layout. It's customizable and easy to find what I'm looking for.

Cons:

There are lots of things I don't like about Workday like how it makes everything more complicated than it is.

Great Central Tool for Financial Management

We use it for processing invoices from import vendors and other international partners, and detect the data and automated the accounts receivable/payable process while providing detailed reports and identified exceptions.

It provides function that helps automate our accounts payable and account receivable flows for our international import shipments.

Cons:

It takes a lot of configuration and setup, and hard to onboard specific entities such as international customs and other logistics providers.

Peoplesoft was based on outdated tech at the time, and workday provides a great erp suite for he and financials.

Business Application that Works like it Should

We have streamlined most of our Finance processes using Workday Financials. It has an easy-to-use interface with a strong back-end for customizing business processes. Easy to onboard and integrate new company acquisitions. Great APIs for billing integration with 3rd party applications.

Great integration with Payroll and HCM modules. Complete suite of financial modules. User-friendly user interface.

Cons:

A better integration with Adaptive Planning would be helpful. Some Financial dashboards are not available out of the box.

Workday Financials POV, almost 10 years of experience

After using Workday for fin management, I don't want to work with anything else, truly. After working (for a short period) with a mix of programs, then getting to move into Workday with my company, I can't imagine going back. Everything is in one place, can be easily located and acts as one source of truth. There is a lot less room for risk and less labor being spent zigzagging between sources to ensure everything aligns.

Pros:

Lots of flexibility for custom rules/validations, lots of pre-built items available such as calculations and reports. Once you get the hang of your area and related cause/effect, becomes second nature on how to make related changes to align with your company's needs.

Cons:

Sometimes bugs come up that take longer to resolve than desired. They aren't often, but on the plus side, they do typically offer information on how to work around the bug while its resolution is in progress.

I have a very positive view of Workday Financial Management. I really like the software and the vast range of configuration options available, which makes it flexible enough to support complex and unique business needs. While it does come with a learning curve, especially for new users, that complexity reflects its power and scalability. Once you get familiar with it, the system feels intuitive and well designed. Pros:

The ability to configure any and all needs is at the top of my list. I have worked with other software, like Paycor and PrismHR and neither had anywhere near the capability that Workday holds.

Cons:

The pro is also a con - While the ability to configure all needs is wonderful, it does com with a bit of a learning curve. I also wish topics in community would be more easily found.

Workday Financial Management is a detailed ERP program that manage all of your accounting and finance needs in accordance with the International Accounting Standards. It streamlines process for better and timely business decision making.

Cons:

Since this is a detailed accounting ERP program, its hard sometimes when navigating and finding details while posting transactions. You need to click various tabs before getting into the correct string and often system got hanged
