Our Analysis of STACK's Pricing Plans

We've dived deep into STACK's pricing plans to help you determine which option best suits your needs and budget. We've also outlined the key advantages and limitations of each plan. STACK offers three main pricing tiers: Takeoff & Estimate, Build & Operate, and Full STACK Platform. Each plan caters to different user types and requirements, and understanding the nuances of each is essential for making the right choice for your personal or pro...

fessional use case. **Takeoff & Estimate plan** STACK's Takeoff & Estimate plan is designed for businesses focused on preconstruction tasks. It includes robust takeoff and estimating features; plan, spec, and document management; advanced quantification; and reporting and analytics. The pricing for this plan starts at $599 per user per year. **Pros:** - **Field and office alignment**: Facilitates seamless communication and coordination between teams. - **Customizable workflows**: Allows businesses to tailor workflows to their specific needs (not included in entry-level plan). - **Mobile access**: Enables team members to access plans and documents from any device. **Cons:** - **Limited estimating tools**: Does not include the comprehensive estimating features of the Takeoff & Estimate Plan. - **Potential complexity**: Customizable workflows may require significant setup and management. **Full STACK Platform** The Full STACK Platform leverages the complete suite of STACK solutions, including integrated estimating, field and project management, and advanced roles and permissions. For businesses focused on preconstruction: The Takeoff & Estimate plan offers essential takeoff and estimating tools. Per-estimator pricing falls as you add more seats. For businesses seeking to connect their back office to the field: The Build & Operate plan combines document management and markup with project and workflow management, making it a better choice for businesses looking to streamline their workflows. For larger organizations requiring a comprehensive solution: The customizable Full STACK Platform combines the two previous plans. It is ideal for businesses with higher project volumes and more complex needs. Ultimately, the choice of plan depends on your business's size, growth trajectory, and needs. By carefully considering these factors and aligning them with STACK's pricing options, construction businesses can select a plan that optimizes their operations and positions them for success.

Pros:
I recently had a wonderful experience with the support team. I was confused about a calculation on a takeoff. I chatted in and after a few messages back and forth I was offered to hop on a quick Zoom call. I was able to share my screen and within a minute or two we had everything figured out. It was seamless and so easy!
Cons:
There is still not a mobile device app for the takeoff/estimate program. The website version on a mobile device is read only and is not a great experience at this time.

The cost - it's a pricey solution for sure. Ultimately, we didn't go with Stack, but it was probably leading our research in terms of what it had to offer.

Reasons for choosing STACK

We didn't - we actually went with another solution based on price.

Pros:
Cloud basing makes protecting data easy and safe. Updates and improvements seem to be automatic so there is no need to install anything.
Cons:
Importing material prices is VERY cumbersome. You have to manually import prices which is time consuming. Every item has to be manually entered and often the user has to convert vendor pricing to user pricing, again very time consuming.

Reasons for switching to STACK

I changed jobs. I would never switch to this product if given the opportunity.

Pricing and poor ethics

1

Our team had an overall positive experience while using the product; however, when the renewal came around this year (nearly $7,000) they auto drafted for the entire year. I reached out because we have transitioned to a new CRM and will not be using their platform, I requested a refund but they refused. We’ve even reached out to the manager who hasn’t responded. I think it’s really crappy to take that amount of money from a small business knowing they’re not going to use the system. I understand there is a contract verbiage to notify 30 days in advance (which I failed to do) but to charge us fully for the entire year is unreasonable in my opinion. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend them.
