About Bananatag

Bananatag is an email marketing platform that allows building and sending responsive emails and surveys directly through Outlook and Gmail. The platform directly integrates with email clients and tracks emails that are sent to distribution lists.

Bananatag has built-in templates for both Gmail and Outlook that helps to send more emails faster. It also allows tracking email open rates and clicking data to get real-time insights. Email analytics and reports can be generated with email open and click-through rates and based on location and device.

Bananatag’s other features include email scheduling, attachment tracking, social reactions, pulse surveys and more.

OMG I LOVE BANANATAG!

I can't imagine doing either of my businesses without Bananatag. You can even set it up to deliver an email on a different day and time. Fabulous!

Pros

Finally, I can tell if my emails that I have sent have been opened! It's frustrating to send off an email and never no if the person bothered to read it. I have two businesses and it's the best thing ever ! It keeps you from feeling frustrated YAY!

Cons

I have two email accounts so I always have to write the email from one business and remember to change my email address if I want it to come from my other business. Otherwise I believe I would have to pay for two accounts.

Excellent, easy-to-use product

Love the product and do not have issues with it requiring me to reach out to anyone. It is easy to teach internally to get others onboarded, despite Bananatag having made the offer to help me with that, it has not been necessary. Having this product as opposed to having no internal communications tool before, has made my job easier, more enjoyable, and more productive & insightful. Reporting has helped identify areas of need for greater communications as well as areas where communication efforts are working well. As someone new to my position, the thought leadership and Comms-Unity Slack group Bananatag has produced have been really awesome as well.

Pros

This product was an easy sell internally to go from no analytics to having analytics, as well as the Outlook integration and the email designer which alleviated potential manual work from our creative team thus avoiding bottlenecks resulting from dependence on other internal departments. Love the look & feel, the product is intuitive and I do not need to reach out for support or help to use it at all (ideal state)

Cons

Would be nice to have more robust ways to use, compare & interpret analytics built in - which I believe may be on the roadmap based on recent conversations

Reasons for Choosing Bananatag

Look & feel - Bananatag felt like a high-quality finished product, where the competitor considered still seemed to have a way to go on their user experience (though it did the job just fine & with analytics down to the individual reader level at a lower price point). Enjoyability when using the product is important as it makes my overall job more enjoyable, helping me to do my best work.

Great tool; some glitches

My company instituted its first-ever internal corporate communications strategy, and we wanted to understand how and when to send emails to our 350+ people, who are spread over 11 offices. Bananatag has helped us understand what kinds of emails are more likely to be opened when reminders might need to be sent, and design/use an email newsletter to roundup information. Wouldn't have been able to do any of those things without Bananatag!

Pros

The tracking is easy to do, easy to see and analyze, and the designer in Outlook is also easy simple to use. You can set it up for multiple team access and usage as well. The customer support is PHENOMENAL

Cons

As the company rolls out updates, sometimes they cause glitches or you have to re-create a process or a template you've been using. It also does not have a function for a "corporate" email address, i.e. one not tied to a person, so we had to find a way to work around that for my company's corporate comms email. This has meant having to find back-end ways of doing things within the software, such as being able to open and review a draft created by another user (when the user was myself). One small exception to the awesome customer support: I am located on the East Coast and they are in Vancouver, BC, so if I need something early in my workday, no one is available for a couple of hours.

One of the most useful Chrome extensions

Pros

I've been using Bananatag to track work and personal emails for a couple of years now and am really happy with it. I get notifications whenever my emails are opened and links are clicked. Bananatag also allows me to snooze emails to read later and schedule emails to send later or on a recurring basis.

Cons

There is a limit to how many emails you can track per day depending on your subscription plan. However, I think the limits are pretty reasonable (5 for free accounts and 200 for premium) and force you to consider which emails are important enough to need tracking.

Great way to create templates and monitor emails

It's an amazing software that has great analytics to track user's experience and to review what type of emails work for users and what type of emails do not. Saves you endless time on creating personalized emails for users.

Pros

Great analytics and contact templates for personalized users. You can simply create templates to personalize your emails and use them for specific customers with just a few clicks of a button.

Cons

The software has always room for more improvements and the better it gets the more information you can get from your users.

I use this software to track my email marketing to prospects and clients

Pros

This gives me unbelievable insight to how efficient my companies email marketing is. With it we can see not only who opens our emails but how they interact with it.

Cons

Nothing in particular. It's an amazing service for anyone who uses email marketing or even for personal tracking.

Really Great too for sending emails, follow up and cold prospecting

I started using bananatag for cold email to know when the client reads and email clicks a link within the email. The template functionality works great as well. I love the send later feature as well

Pros

Ease of Use and templates Price is very reasonable as well.

Cons

Sometimes the editor throws some html formatting errors. But that may be a chrome extension issue on my side.
