We have used Surgical Cloud with Mahler Health almost since its inception and our experience has been positive as it has been customized to our role and industry in the allied health care arena. The customization flexibility makes it unique when compared to other products.

Finally a great EHR that does everything we need!

Since they are also a clearinghouse, we literally have everything in one place and it is all electronic. Being able to do E&B checks and not having to enter any data has been so helpful for us!

Pros:

We absolutely love the ease of use, but more importantly, the scheduling capabilities for both staff and patients in incredible. As the administrator I can see all of my providers and appointments scheduled, and my providers only see what they want to see on their schedules. Best of all, my staff can log in right from their phones and communicate with me directly through the system. Also, they are a one-stop-shop and we can do everything in one place without having to add other software and complicate things.

Cons:

There's not a lot that we don't like about Mahler. If I had to complain, I would say that I wish we had found them much sooner instead of going through the pain and struggles of other EHRs that say they can do "everything," but they really can't. Mahler has done some customizations for us that they completed in only a couple of days.

We were a little hesitant at first because they weren't as well-known as the others, but once we learned they focus their energy on customer referrals and not sales/marketing, the decision was easy. We're a family business and they seem to share in similar values as us.

The ones we tried told us they would have us online quickly and it took them months. It was very frustrating trying to run our business and having to wait on certain features that took forever and in many cases were never completed.

Truthfully, much like any program shift, it takes a little bit to get used to. Kind of like riding a bike though, soon you’re coasting faster than you’ve ever worked before, claims are reimbursed in a timely manner and directly deposit into your account. Once our company switched to this program, we were able to consolidate 7-8 DIFFERENT programs down to this one, which instantly saved thousands per month in other program costs - which allowed for us to automate one whole person’s job. Essentially, once one you finish setup of this program, you’ll have two buttons you click: 1) Treat patients 2) Make money

Cons:

Implementation for our company was, I’m sure like many others, slightly challenging - but I would attribute that to our teacher. We requested another individual be our proctor and a special accommodation was made and we were given the Lead Developer to finish our Implementation. Exceeded any expectations we could have had as new customers.

1) Lack of capability 2) lack of customization 3) Poor customer service: whenever we had an issue, we were ALWAYS directed to check an online forum instead of getting a dedicated person to address our concern. 4) Antiquated look of the web program (Terrible User Interface) 5) Antiquated feel of the web program (HORRIBLE User Experience) 6) No texting capability 7) No email capability 8) No ledger 9) Unlike Mahler, who has their own Billing company, DS3 is partnered with 4Pillars and Pristine Billing company. Sleep Cycle was waiting longer than six months for reimbursement checks which is not sustainable. 10) There hadn’t been an update made to the DS3 website for longer than 5 years when we were using it. 11) No reporting capabilities (Billing) 12) No merchant services integration, so all transactions needed to be manually entered 13) No faxing integration 14) No CRM tracking

Surgical Scheduling Super Help

I mostly use this for a group of surgical assistants. It allows Surgical schedulers to input the case information and for us to see everything easily enough to let everyone know where to be.

Cons:

I don't use all the of the features. I would like a way to send out a mass email to all schedulers instead of looking each up individually. A way to track and get rid of old schedulers that no longer use the system
