our trusted, full featured online giving platform

We are very happy customers of goDonate. It delivers a great donation journey making it easy to give, and gives us the flexibility we need and access to the data we require to build our ongoing communications and journeys.

Pros:

It allows us to do all the things we need from an online donations platform. goDonate were great in setting everything up and helped us to establish a new relationship with Braintree as the payment Gateway. It handles Gift-Aid very well. The API allows us to pull data into our CRM on a regular basis to manage transactions and donor relations.

Cons:

Not sure there's anything I would describe as not like. we were the first customers to use the goDonate plus, so there was a little learning on both sides, but we were pleased to say it worked right out of the box.

Reasons for switching to goDonate

Our existing platform was built on a technology that was going out of support and was a potential security threat.

Easy-to-use donation platform

Having working with goDonate in two charities over the last few years, I would recommend the team and platform to other digital and fundraising teams looking for an easy-to-use donation platform.

Cons:

Not fully customisable without support (e.g. editing certain text fields).

Hi Lis, Many thanks for your review. Glad you find the platform so easy to use. It was certainly designed with simplicity in mind for both the front-end supporter and back-end administrator! As the form is based on years’ of experience with working with large charities and continual A/B testing to ensure it is optimised for a successful donation journey, we do limit some of the editing ability to ensure its continued optimisation. However we are looking to expand the features to make more areas custoimisable in the future. Great platform, great results

Overall, it is much better than most platforms I have used, and I am impressed at the results we have seen since implementing it.

Pros:

It is incredibly easy to use, both for the donor and the back-end users at the charity. Creating campaigns is simple, which means it is easy to run tests or responsive fundraising campaigns in not having to wait on a CMS team to build pages. The reporting is comprehensive, and it is great to be able to run simple searches in the Support section. The UX on the donation pages is the big draw, and we have seen a big uplift in donation completions and donation value since we launched the goDonate.

Cons:

If you are used to having self-serve and in-depth reporting from Stripe, then using goDonate's Stripe Connected account takes some getting used to, and we found some initail teething problems in being able to reconciel what we receive from it with our own accounts. It would also be useful to be able to have more leeway for the user in building donation pages - for example, to be able to move content blocks, change colours and text in some cases (e.g. opt-in statement, motivation dropdowns, etc.) and set to land on a single donation (rather than monthly) as a user to test and optimise more in real-time.

We preferred the features that goDoante offered over alternative products.

Reasons for switching to goDonate

We found the donation forms on our former CMS to be clunky and we needed to developers to make any changes.
