About Diligent Community

Diligent Community is a cloud-based solution, which assists public education and local government organizations with agenda and meeting management. Key features include collaboration, document storage, status tracking, notifications, and engagement tracking.

The Diligent Community platform enables administrators to create meetings schedules, send calendar invites to participants, promote collaboration between participants and publish the meeting materials and minutes. It enables clerks, council members and city managers to create agenda for board meetings, attach relevant files or documents and provide remote access to members who are physically not present in meetings.

Diligent Community helps school administrators and superintendents share and edit meeting details with collaborators and address issues or red flags, digitizing governance across institutions. It comes with mobile applications for Android and iOS stores. Pricing is available on request and support is provided via phone and documentation.

Transparent and Efficient Board Management with Diligent Community

My overall experience with Diligent Community has been largely positive. The platform provides a centralized, secure space for managing board agendas, minutes, and public documents, which has significantly streamlined our governance processes. I particularly appreciate the user-friendly interface for building agendas and the ability to share materials with the public in real time, which supports transparency and compliance with Sunshine Laws. That said, there is a bit of a learning curve, especially for new or less tech-savvy users, and setting permissions can sometimes feel overly complex. A few technical glitches have occurred—usually during updates or when accessing video content—but they were typically resolved quickly. Despite these minor challenges, Diligent Community has improved collaboration among board members and staff, and made it easier to keep the community informed and engaged. It’s a strong tool for any organization looking to modernize its board operations.

Diligent allows my school district to comply with Sunshine Law requirements to post the agenda topics and helps to promote community engagement. I appreciate the fact that everything—agendas, meeting minutes, policies, calendar are stored in one secure, and searchable location.

Cons:

Diligent Community is a web-based board portal where board members and others with privileges can access meeting materials, agendas, and notes. However, I find that the public-facing search tool can be difficult to use and does not always deliver intuitive results. I find it difficult to search for older meeting materials and I believe that this is one of the product's biggest weaknesses.

Give Community a try, you won't be sorry!

Diligent Community has been a great experience. Moving from BoardDocs was an easy process, and customer service has always been super fast and helpful.

Community makes the entire Board meeting process simple and eco friendly! It has everything we need in one place and helps us deliver high quality Board meetings.

Cons:

There's nothing I don't like about Community. Every now and again there are minor technical issues, just like every other site, but it consistently works well for what we need.

Reasons for switching to Diligent Community

BoardDocs didn't have as many features as Community does and it was no longer going to be maintained, as the technology was very old and starting to have a lot of problems.

It is amazing that we can now handle our investor relations communications under a single secure portal. It has made the process of sharing sensitive information and monitoring of engagement very efficient. The audit trail of all document revisions also seems to me very reassuring to our compliance requirements.

Cons:

The user interface, although operational, is somehow outdated to more recent platforms. What I have also realized is that sometimes searching very specific and older documents is a lengthy process. More intuitive methods of classifying and labeling archived materials would be marvelous.

I love how user friendly the software is on its own. I enjoy how easy and quick it is to get help from IT.

Cons:

That I am unable to change the line spacing for the posted agendas and/or minutes. It seems to just make the documents appear a lot longer.
