    Great software for Dental practices

    I teach at the dental school. It is much quicker than Axium, has more features than Softdent. Easier interface than any of the Dentrix softwares. Definitely better than Eaglesoft. We have been using the software since it broke off from MacDental about 20 years ago. My staff has looked at other software vendors but always have come back to say that MacPractice is what they want to keep using.

    It is one of the most intuitive EDRs out there. Easy to train staff and our temp hygienists. Reports are great. Billing is easy. It is very quick compared to the cloud based EDRs.
    Cons:
    Their eprescribing module is not the best. We use a separate eprescribing moudule. We used to be transferred directly to a software tech if we had an issue. Now we need to leave a message and get a call back. They usually respond within an hour, but not like the "old days."

    This product is good. There are times when it freezes but other than that it is easy to use and functional.
    Cons:
    As mentioned previously it can freeze at times giving you the spinning wheel of death as we call it.

    Great price point. Accessible interface. Built for Mac. Their support and billing team are awesome!
    Cons:
    Not cloud-based and not moving that way. Very limited integrations. Lots of software problems and color wheels and slowdowns as our database size increased

    I really love how easy it is. Finding patient information is well organized and well placed. The software that my company switched over to is much more difficult to navigate.
    Cons:
    We had a lot of server issues, some on our end and some MacPractice's side. We also had a lot of issues with information deleting after it was saved. One of the issues would put the default address country as Morocco and then would delete any updated information we would try to include.

    It is very easy to use and to navigate through. The tech support was always prompt and helpful as well.
    Cons:
    The program would crash quite frequently while using it. It would give technical errors a lot through the use of the program.

    stay away. Mac Practice is awful!!!

    This program was obviously written by someone who has never seen what an optometrist has to do. I have to retype in someones prescription 3 times! CL trials do not carry over and the Rx written in one year doesn't carry over to the worn Rx for the next. Everything has to be typed over and over and over and over. Plus it crashes all of the time. And each computer manages to crash in a different place

    The EMR is horrible and makes everything way harder than it needs to be. Billing and coding is very difficult and requires way more steps than it should.

    MacPractice is a great, and easy to use software. It keep things neat and organized, and makes keeping track very easy!
    Cons:
    Macpractice doesnt have anything related to the cloud(store info). It doesnt integrate well with other programs or apps. Which is a bummer.

    I love how you can create a template for EVERYTHING. They make looking at the schedule very simple and easy.
    Cons:
    The MacPractice server would constantly be running slow and bog down our work. Many times the patient charts wouldn't save and you would have to input the data again.

    Cons:
    Program crashes very frequently. Unable to access MacPractice unless you were nearby the server or connecting to it.
