Flexible and Powerful Platform for Complex Project Management

Pros:

What I like most about cplace is its flexibility and configurability. It allows teams to adapt the platform to their own processes, structures, and reporting needs instead of being limited by a fixed setup. It also supports strong collaboration and transparency across departments, which is particularly valuable in complex project environments.

Cons:

One useful improvement for cplace would be the ability to create and manage multiple baselines, which would greatly enhance project tracking and reporting accuracy. Additionally, the initial setup starts in German, which can be challenging for international users. It would be very helpful if the platform could automatically adapt the language based on the company or user profile.

Reasons for switching to cplace

We switched from Planview to cplace to gain more flexibility and customization options in managing complex, cross-departmental projects. cplace offered a more adaptable structure, better integration with other tools like Jira and SAP, and improved transparency for collaboration across engineering and process teams.

Extraordinary Project- & Processmanagement Software for all customers specifics

After almost 11 years of use, I can highly recommend the cplace software. We used it for different use cases and applications. From collaborative scheduling with thousands of users, over strategic portfolio management to individual workflows & process management in the administration of type approvals and the homologation.

Pros:

I appreciate the high flexibility of cplace, which makes it possible to make any application customizations. I enjoy the numerous configuration options that make it possible to create my own workflows for individual processes, even without an IT background. The simple data modeling and the customizability of the layout and appearance are particularly valuable to me. In addition, cplace enables consistent workflows and offers a central database, which ensures transparency and traceability. The workflow manager, no-code data modeling and easy-to-implement low-code implementations are particularly helpful.

Cons:

The Excel-like table functions could be expanded, for example fixing rows or columns. In addition, the overall menu navigation is something that could be improved in my opinion.

Nice possibilities but unfortunately not in our version

Maybe it’s just our version of Cplace but the UX is unfortunately miserable. I get a kind of depression when I see at the Cplace day what is actually possible with cplace

Possibility to have a single point of truth when it comes to project management. I like the possibilies Cplace offers especially the new opportunities with AI.

Cons:

Our Cplace version is really customized and unfortunately it doesn’t relate to the standard. In our version the UX and UI is not well developed. Also the task management is not quite well developed unfortunately

C-place: A Visible Step Forward in Unified Project Management

We had a PPM system in place previously, but the transition to C-place was made to drive improvement — and that improvement is clearly visible. Now, we can seamlessly connect financials, schedules, and other key features to our projects, enabling the entire organization to work within a unified tool.

The ability to integrate with other software platforms. And the concept of mandating all project stakeholders to collaborate within a unified platform.

Cons:

The tools is not prepared as a storage place, but for the evidence and to use it in an audit is necessary to have documents as evidence. Happy to see the possibility to connect to SharePoint in the next update.

The comfort of building custom solutions, and adaptibility. Managing and maintaing masterdata is very easy and flexible The new AI capabilities.

Cons:

Template management: we have quite a complex process and frequent changes in template and migration from old version to new version have becaome quite challenging.

cPlace - PPM Tool experience

Overall, the cPlace is a well-suited tool to a large variety of use cases in the PPM arena and next to it. I really enjoyed the work with the tool, the partners (Dataciders QuinScape, and Tiba Technologie Beratung) as well as with the Collaboration Factory. For me it is one of the best tools on the marked currently available.

cPlace flexibility and adaptability. The system itself is working stable and allows robust operation. All components for establishing a fit to use case PPM solution are available. The adaptability and the openness for easy exchange data allows a perfect integration into the existing legacy landscape. The UI is good, although some parts in the tables need familiarization. The UIx is good, although some parts in the tables need a familarization.

Cons:

Working with no-code is practical, but some parts of automation are missing (e.g. creating multiple fields). CI/CD should be completely there and established in the build process.

Technology was no longer supported and further developed, bad user acceptance.
