Dotloop is a cloud-based real estate transaction management software designed for brokers, teams, agents and service providers. Primary features include transaction management, workflow tools, audit trails, digital signatures, document management, task templates and reporting.

Dotloop allows users to manage transactions, edit, share and e-sign real estate documents. It also offers compliance, storage, form editing and digital signatures features. Users can view their business performance using the reporting tools.

It provides compliance management and real-time notification features for changes in deal status. dotloop offers integration with Boomtown, Inside Real Estate, LionDesk, RealGeeks, Zurple, SweepBright, SnapNHD, Google Drive, Preclose and others.

Support is offered via email and over the phone. Other help options include webinars, onsite seminars and tutorials.

Streamline transactions

Overall, my experience with dotloop has been positive because it streamlines real estate transactions, even though there is a small learning curve at first.

I like dotloop because it makes real estate transactions simple and organized by keeping all documents and signatures in one place. It saves time, reduces errors, and makes it easy to collaborate with clients and other agents from anywhere.

Cons:

What I like least about dotloop is that it can feel slow or laggy at times, especially when loading large transaction files.

Making Transaction Management Manageable

As mentioned above, Dotloop allowed our small team to transition away from paper-based processing to a fully digital solution. Our team was able to closer over 100 transactions per year with a single adminsitrative transaction coordinator thanks to its templates and task tracking systems.

Pros:

Dotloop has a clean, intuitive interface (especially after their most recent design update). It helped our small team clear over a big hurdle of allowing our ops team to efficiently manage transactions while simultaneously allowing our agents to check on progress with as little friction as possible. Dotloop made it possible for our team to finally forego paper files and transact fully in the cloud.

Cons:

Despite multiple attempts, our team never really trusted the more complex features of Dotloop (individual user permissioning in particular). Whether user or system error, we had several instances where non-team users were seeing notes, documents, or contact information they should not have seen. As a result, we used Dotloop for internal processing only, which means we had to look elsewhere for client-end solutions.

Reasons for choosing dotloop

Dotloop came highly recommended by other brokers in our firm. In addition, Dotloop seemed (at the time) to be the most standalone product—the other options required us to change our workflow to fit their system, as opposed to their system conforming to our way of doing business. Dotloop was much more flexible in this regard.

Reasons for switching to dotloop

Top Producer is an old piece of software, and the age showed around the time we switched to Dotloop in 2017. We attempted to use Top Producer's transaction management solution, but it just wasn't up to par with what Dotloop was offering (either in feature set or usability).

Still the king...for now

I think Dotloop is still the leader in this space but it will have some challenging times ahead with their price structure.

Pros:

The ease of use compared to the other digital signing programs is by far the best thing about using Dotloop. I've had to try a couple of different options and Dotloop has been the easiest to navigate and make adjustments if needed.

Cons:

The price tag on here is the biggest concern. It will be interesting what they have to do with their pricing model as other options appear and AI makes it easier to create competitors and/or make other programs better.

My Prefered E-Sign Program

I appreciate that they have the app so that I can both work remotely and be notified on my phone when sigantures occur. It has expedited the pace at which I can work. I find the program to be complimentary to others in terms of keboard shortcuts which has also allowed me to be efficiant and not waste time placing indevidual boxes where i may need them.

Pros:

I like the ease with which it operates. I find it to be the most fluid of the e-sign platforms I've used. I appreciate the way it autofills both text and signatures, and how it time stamps signatures so that I don't have to add a date at every signature placement.

Cons:

There are on occasion a few bugs that I've learned to work around. Namely thaton occasion if I share a document with Editing permissions it can lock others out of the document, even once the editor is done.

Easy to work with

All in all its very good. Dotloop is a way to store all information from a transaction and can be reviewed anytime. Client signatures are very easy to obtain. Also, the tracking history is very beneficial .

Cons:

Currently I DO NOT like having to enter my email address EVERYTIME I log in! That is super annoying! All Realtors that I have talked to feel the same.

Lovin Dotloop

I have been using Dotloop for as long as I can remember, since day one, my overall experience with Dotloop has been excellent. I use Dotloop every day for business and know the program is very reliable. I have never experienced a glitch or outage. I do not recall ever needing customer support or having a tech issue however I'm confident they would be great if I did.

Pros:

The Dotloop platform is easy to navigate, and I can search for any document required in my state. The Document Library includes all required forms; no looking online and downloading to add to my files. Keeping all my files secure and organized for years is no issue at all.

Cons:

I don't have any negative feedback. I can't even complain about the price. Having full functionality of the entire program for basically a dollar a day is a bargain.

Dotloop review

Generally good except for the two above comments. It would be Ho.loop to disassociate with Showing Time . Everyone I know is complaining about it.

The ease of creating & maintaining documents

Cons:

The two things that I find awful about that loop our won the integration of Showing Time , which makes it extremely difficult to get into many times and the other issue is the display and the way it behaves when you are on an iPad. This is 2024 and it should work well with Apple products But doesn’t seem to. I do not have a PC or laptop. I only use an iPad and an iPhone, and they should make it easier to use with those products.

All-in-one tool to manage real estate deals. Multiple options for delivery of contracts and eSigning options for clients (in-person, via email). dotloop's Support Team is great as well!

Cons:

Some of the functionality can be a bit clunky, and some great settings require manual selection each time (ie., attaching PDF versions to emails)

All of my documents are in one place, & are easily accessible. Also, I can add documents from my photos!

Cons:

I’m not able to reorder the documents on my iPad.
