About Stock and Purchasing for Microsoft Dynamics 365
Stock and Purchasing Manager for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an inventory control system designed for manufacturers and distributors. The software integrates with Order Manager to manage the entire build process from procurement to fulfillment.
Manufacturers can define a bill of materials for each product, breaking it down into its component parts and subassemblies. As orders come in, the system uses the bill of materials to determine which parts need to be picked for production. It initiates build orders based on current stock levels, notifying users which items to pick and their location in the warehouse.
The software tracks every stock movement in and out of the factory, maintaining a complete transaction history. Stock can be stored in multiple locations and warehouses, with users able to manually record stock movements between them.
Purchasing is controlled through target stock levels, lead times, and historical sales data. Purchase orders can be generated automatically or manually. Deliveries are managed against purchase orders, handling issues like short shipments and returns of damaged goods.
