ExpenseWire is a cloud-based expense management solution that that helps businesses of all sizes across various industry verticals to manage and organize their expense process in a single, centralized platform.

ExpenseWire offers features like mobile expense management, rules-based compliance and approval workflows. The mobile interface provides on-the-go access to submit, review and approve expenses. The user interface provides administrators policy management capabilities that can vary by expense type and can allow for pre-approval of some expenses. Policy violations are highlighted for managers to address before filing the report for reimbursement. ExpenseWire can identify and group a user’s common transactions that help administrators in the expense submission process.

ExpenseWire's General Ledger code tracking works with company’s existing accounting system and helps in automating the reimbursement process.

Pros:

Not much - can import credit card transactions, can understand where expenses are in the approval chain

Cons:

No mobile application to snap pictures of receipts (let alone OCR them like expensify does) Web UI just got a facelift to the 21st century and it's still awful. When entering expense, you can only see 4-6 expenses at a time. When you have 40+ expenses a month, it becomes very easy to lose individual expenses in the endless scrolling.

Pros:

The fact that you link your bank account and get paid for personal expenses much faster than a traditional system is very helpful. It is also nice that you can attach receipts in a pretty straightforward way as well.

Cons:

The interface is very difficult to navigate. The only way I have gotten things to work properly is from a computer. Trying to do anything on your smartphone with this platform is very poor. Also, it isn't very clear on how to submit the expense report once everything is ready for approval. Receipts are in one part, then the line items are on another part, then you have to attach receipts in a clunky way. I was very disappointed with how difficult the interface was to navigate. Again it is much easier on a computer than it is on a mobile device but still very difficult.

Really easy to pick up and go. From first look, it is easy to figure out the systems and submit claims

Cons:

Having a guide for first time users would have been helpful. Its fairly easy to navigate but for those without experience looking into systems like this, they may get confused.

Find Better Options Elsewhere

Not a fan of this software. When I first started with my current company, this is the expense platform se use. However, our organization has since migrated to another expense reimbursement platform that's much superior. Now this is only a legacy software platform that we are keeping for record-keeping purposes only.

The cost is very cheap compared to other similar products in the market, but that is about it.

Cons:

No integration with our accounting platform, difficult to use, limited reporting functions, no reconciliation/reporting capability with our corporate cards.

Cons:

The end results of what is trying to be accomplished is good. The problem is getting to the end result.

Cons:

This software is without question NOT user friendly. The review from a customer through the G2 system back on May 1, 2018 also said it is anything but user friendly. Expensewire has done nothing to improve on this software since then.

ExpenseWire

From a user's perspective, this system is incredibly cumbersome and slow to use. The interface and operating system is not intuitive at all for the average user. Expense reports are slow to upload and the system often erroneously reports that an expense report has not been uploaded when it has. While I can not comment on value of expensewire from an internal accounting perspective, it has caused a great deal of frustration and loss of productivity for my team and others I have spoke to within our organization.
