Cumulus Retail is a Cloud, SaaS based retail management solution that enables small to mid-size retailers to manage their entire business in one system. Cumulus combines point of sale, E-Commerce, back office, and digital marketing providing real-time visibility throughout an organization.

Cumulus’s eCommerce integrates into the POS and back office system which allows for cross-channel pricing, promotions, gift cards, inventory and fulfillment both in-store and online. With drag-and-drop editing tools, new web pages can be created with a few clicks.

With an 'Always On’ POS option, retailers can ring sales and access all POS - even when the internet goes down. Along with tools that help retailers manage their campaigns, Cumulus offers digital marketing that allows retailers to personalize email campaigns through the use of automated workflows.

    Celerant is great!

    Celerant has been a great company to work with. They have tools that allow you to truly scale your business and team members such as [sensitive content hidden] who make sure they take the time to understand your business, goals, and how they can align with you to help you grow. I can honestly say, the creation of the Account Executive position was a game-changer in my relationship with Celerant. I'm going another direction for now, but not because I have anything at all bad to say about their company, I simply have another business that is taking off that requires more and more of my attention. When I come back to the firearms industry in full swing and am ready to scale, it will ABSOLUTELY be with Celerant!

    The ability to link ALL of my distributors to my web page and the ease of making changes. I like to keep a fresh look so the website does not get stagnant.

    Setup process was lengthy but I was being critical because I had a specific look in mind for my website.

    The training staff, Quinn in particular, have gone above and beyond when it comes to getting us ready for the transition into a new system. He has gone over things more than once when they werent clear, as well as spending extra time to make sure things during the transition, everything was set up promptly and correctly.
    Cons:
    I feel like the back office could be set up a little better and clearer when it comes to the different applications.

    BEWARE Celerant POS - Cumulus

    Poor, very poor - negative stars BEWARE of Celerant Point of Sale! We've been using Celerant POS for about 2 years.

    pos can handle more than 1 location That is basically the only pro about the Celerant - Cumulus POS software
    Cons:
    The software is old technology. It takes 10 minutes for the software to boot up. You must use astericks to search for items. The software freezes up frequently. They lock you into a multi-year contract. It takes many hours of training before you are able to start using the program. It is cumbersome to add inventory to the database. We were using Quickbooks POS for about 20 years prior. QB POS wasn't perfect, but much better and easier to use than Celerant - Cumulus software. There hasn't been any updates or improvements during the 2 years we've used the POS software. We are stuck in our expensive contract - they won't let us out!

    POS functionality and ease of use once one get familiar with all its options. Searching and drilling down for specific items, brands, etc is very helpful. Reporting is extensive if you get the report design package. Staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful down the line: sales, implementation, and customer service.
    Cons:
    Just getting familiar with program. I don't have any cons.

    I did not want to work from a small tablet at checkout. I could use all of my peripherals. I used Retail Ice for many years.

    They ended service. No more updates or support.

    Be Extra Cautious, What was covered in the sales pitch couldn’t actual be done

    The overall best part was signing the termination of the contract three years after we started. After it was determined that the software would not do what they said it would do and they agreed in writing it couldn’t do what it was sold to do they would not terminate the contract and refund thousands of dollars spent on a system. So we paid for 36 months on a system that never processed an actual transaction. We also revoked ACH authorization for payment in writing and they still continued to ACH. We also tried to reach out to members of the leadership team and all of our communications including communications that were mailed physically were never responded to or acknowledged.

    This software in theory is great but it does not actually get going
    Cons:
    The features that were pitched to us in all of the sales presentation turned out to be things that could not be delivered and implementation. Almost 9 months of back-and-forth with the implementation teams never could get system running.

    We chose cumulus due to the fact some of the things that we needed within lightspeed would’ve been third-party connectors where with Cumulus they were built into the software

    Smoke and mirrors sales with ghost town support

    Every time you contact customer support its always something cant be done. The entire product is a series of work arounds. Nothing is fluid or easy. The search functionality is beyond broken. I was led to believe that all my old sales data and information from my old system would be ported over no problem, later find out nope cant port sales data. After importing serialized products we realized that many of them were imported with there own individual part number. when I have 5 of an item with 5 serial numbers I now have 5 separate items with 5 separate part numbers. During implementation i was told i could not have my old POS and the new POS installed at the same time. Took weeks to get them to do it and thank god we did. the search function is so horrendous that I have to search for the product in my old system then use the part number or UPC to find it in the new system. the POS sales screen does work surprisingly well as long as you can scan a barcode. after hours product support is of no real help. don't get me wrong the people are always very nice but I don't care about nice. I want results. We were sold on the ability to order directly from Celerant with many of our wholesalers. What we weren't told was that the ordering is only based off of whomever has the most in stock not the best price. This can and will break a business in todays marketplace. this is another instance of we don't care we wont change it.

    The training personnel at Celerant are outstanding! My implementation trainer ([sensitive content hidden]) is the most patient and diligent professional I've ever met. Since I never worked in retail and now I'm running a retail store of my own, I've benefited overwhelmingly from [sensitive content hidden]s Cumulus systems' expertise and her knowledge of retail in general. I admire her responsiveness and patience throughout the whole process of going live and still being there for me after the go-live date. I highly attribute to her my successful launch! And a huge plus for the software's ability to integrate with my suppliers. Absolutely essential feature for small businesses where one person wears many "hats". And love the Knowledge Base(?) feature in the back-office - a life saver!
    Cons:
    The software itself could use a bit of 21st century facelift - the Backoffice navigation tree and its branches are not as user-friendly as one may desire. It takes a lot of clicks from getting a product into the system to printing a price tag (too many clicks in my opinion). Also Cumulus doesn't allow for a self-setup of labels/tags (choosing fields to print, margin sizes, paper/label sizing) - a bit unhappy about that. Another one is pre-set Dashboard, there isn't much available in terms of customizing the view. In these days of "widgets" and building personalized dashboards, seems like it shouldn't be an issue.
