Benefitfocus is a cloud-based software developed to provide various benefit solutions to consumers, insurance carriers, brokers and employers. It streamlines benefits management, improves engagement and maximizes return on investments. It enables staff to instantly access healthcare and benefits data.

Benefitfocus is an easy way to see insurance proof and review essential coverage particulars like co-pays and deductibles when needed. It can be used via PC and mobile devices using web-based software and iOS/Android applications.

It shows benefit options users have selected via the Communication Portal. Further, it allows users to add or edit personal and dependent information. Users can also add Insurance card identification numbers, images of ID cards and other benefit documents. All of a user's necessary benefit documents are safely stored. By downloading the mobile app, users can keep all benefit documents handy.

Comprehensive and easy way to enroll and change HR benefits

I use Benefitfocus to enroll and change healthcare and other benefits for my work. It's user friendly and visually appealing. It really could be used by anyone with even basic computer knowledge.

Pros:

I like how it presents all the options for benefits in a clear way including side-by-side comparisons. This was the easiest it's ever been for me to enroll in healthcare and other insurance benefits.

Cons:

If you are dealing with an uncommon circumstance, the system does not always know what to do. However, it really does work well overall.

Pros:

Gives you more power of your benefits and a centralized area. Your employees can see their old benefits and the usage they had. Gives them more power to make an informed decision.

Cons:

I really can't think of any except the price is pretty steep. The features of the product is very useful but you do pay for everything. You have to configure some yourself and if you want them to do it you have to pay more.

Nothing. It is very glitchy and noone will help fix it.

Cons:

Very disappointed in the support and program capability from Benefitfocus. We have been a customer for 5+ years and trying to get support from them is horrible. You will have a different account manager every couple of months who knows nothing about the previous problems, and isn't willing to figure them out. This system will leave you very disappointed and when you need support to fix what doesn't work they don't answer for months - if ever. And don't ever think they will be available via phone, everything is communicated through cases. I would steer clear of them.NONE. Thats our problem with them; they don't solve anything and don't answer in months - if ever.
