Toast Payroll & Team Management is a cloud-based human resource management (HRM) solution that helps businesses across various industry verticals to manage various activities of the human resources process and employee lifecycle, from hiring to benefits administration and performance review.

StratEx’s applicant tracking module allows recruiters to post job positions on job boards, screen candidates automatically using the survey feature, and manage the interview process. During the hiring process, StratEx ensures that all laws and policies are met, ensuring that organizations are in line with all federal hiring regulations.

Within the performance review module, StratEx helps users to track multiple types of reviews, including 360-degree reviews and allows employers to set goals based on the employee’s current performance. The solution also helps businesses track time and labor management, including scheduling and sends text alerts to the employees when scheduling issues and other thresholds occur.

Pros:

I absolutely love that in this one app I can do everything that I need to do for human resources. From employee onboarding, to payroll to employee scheduling. It has saved me a lot of money .

Cons:

Sometimes I think less is more. It's great that toast payroll and team Management covers all these responsibilities, but sometimes I think it's just too much. And maybe be easier to have someone else do payroll. Also if there's a glitch or some kind of technical difficulty, then the whole system is down and then I do not have a backup one.

Exactly what a small business needs

From the time I inquired about it until today, every person I have interacted with has been knowledgeable and very helpful - very accommodating and they always communicate using understandable verbiage for the novice payroll person.

It is very comprehensive but not overwhelming like Quickbooks. The tech support is amazing.

Cons:

1. We start getting reminder and "late" notices beginning Thursday but we do not run payroll until Monday.There is not really anything I don't like.

Quickbooks was very expensive and the cost seemed to go up every year. It was much more comprehensive than a small business needs.

Has all the tools, but not user friendly.

Currently using toast and toast payroll to complete daily tasks, time, and money management for myself personally and for my teams payroll through TOAST POS.

Has all of your tax forms, I’d, info, pay stubs, and hours all accessible if you are able to find it.

Cons:

Extremely glitchy and hard to find different bits of info. It’s all there, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to access it all. Not a navigation friendly site.

It’s integrated with our TOAST POS and made the most sense at the time. However TOAST’s frees for credit card processing have become absurd and I’m not sure we want to continue with them, but switching systems is a HUGE pain.

Pros:

Toast Payroll is integrated with Toast POS, so running payroll is seamless. The historical data of previous pay cycles and multiple reports helps with future budgeting and planning. Any issues or questions that arise, a simple phone connects you with the nicest operators ever and fixes the problem.

Cons:

Lots of features to learn and/or utilize, but that's not necessarily a bad thing :)

Terrible Payroll System

They didn't enter employee correctly and especially the taxes. Ohio and West Virginia There is a reciprocity agreement between the state where your business is located and the state where this employee lives. To qualify for the reciprocity agreement, your employee must give you a Certificate of Nonresidence. They did not enter this correctly - which I clearly asked them to do and now they want to fine me for not having a WV tax id number - which i clearly dont need! This what I got in an email this morning I have reached out to our Tax Manager and he stands firm in that we do need a West Virginia State Withholding number. You, as an employer, do not pay taxes to West Virginia, but the Employee's who live there will - due to the reciprocity agreement. We withhold these from the Employee and remit them to the proper agencies. Here is a link that does go into more detail that our Tax Department was able to pass along.

NONE OF THEM - very difficult to use and doesn't sync like they say it does. Changing was the biggest mistake of my 7 years of business.

Cons:

yes - get your stuff together and enter stuff correctly! Instead blaming the customer and try to make them do something they don't need to do - when you all failed to do your job.

Terrible decision didn't do my homework and read reviews! I would have never changed if I did my homework. I went backwards instead of forwards by changing.

Because your system is terrible! Sling doesn't ingratiate correctly either! Was suppose to have Sling pro - it has never integrated correctly So many wasted hours since the middle of Aug dealing with this system.

Amateur payroll software system for restaurants

Experience has been sub par at best. They sound like they know what they are doing. Resolved your issue only to have thr same reporting error happen 2 weeks later.

We do not like the software because we can't use it properly for tip management

Cons:

Tip management is horrendous. It does not help my general manager know how much to pay staff at the end of the night when doing a shift review. Tip Manager was the reason we left ADP and should have stayed

Look elsewhere

I don't think there is one part of their system that functions well. The tip manager is horrible to use, the time away from work function doesn't sync up to payroll and it'll deduct employees twice, most changes made on Payroll do not sync to POS and we constantly had issues with the benefit dashboard.

I liked the false feeling that I had in the beginning thinking that if we followed the instructions provided to us that there wouldn't be any mistakes.

Cons:

We had a lot of W2s generated by Toast with incorrect earnings and tax information. They're also really slow to get back to you whenever there is an internal issue with the system.

It logs all of my pay info in one area to see each pay period...breaks down everything just like on a printed pay stub

Cons:

Our service hasn't been great from their side....we wait longer than expected on items to happen or to even hear back from team members on certain things.
