    Pros:
Engaging Networks tools enable HRC's team to customize our web pages, advocacy pages and email campaigns to look and behave exactly as we want. This has boosted conversion rates on all of our donation pages. Our very first year-end campaign after switching to the new platform produced a three-fold increase in the number of monthly givers acquired.
    Cons:
Data and reporting is always an opportunity with any platform. Engaging Networks has been great with helping us connect tools to help increase our advocacy and reporting.

    Vendor Response

Thank you for the review Drew! While we do have reporting and data visualizations in the platform, our open flexible API opens doors to connect with much more robust business intelligence tools for deep dive analysis.

Great eCRM to meet large nonprofit's online marketing needs

    4

Overall, I like Engaging Networks. It mostly suits our needs as an eCRM for a large nonprofit, so that we can send emails, create robust donation forms and other form types, create marketing automations, and segment and manage our supporter data and sync properly with our offline CRM. They have a great team that are very helpful and always innovating, though I don't think they have capacity to keep up with client enhancement/improvement requests.

    Pros:
They are innovative, and always coming out with new features and trying to improve their product. They have a great staff which are helpful and put effort into listening to client feedback and support always responds quickly. They have a great page builder that allows for a lot of flexibility for building your forms. They offer marketing automations, a great email builder and reliable email sending, and hopefully coming soon there will be a much improved peer to peer tool. Setting up APIs and syncs with other systems is generally pretty fluid. They offer Accessible Intelligence, which is an AI system for sending emails to reach specific goals - we have not used this yet though.
    Cons:
There are lots of little things that add up to be annoying. For example, you cannot create conditional content within autoresponders, so you have to make separate autoresponders for each variation. Or, you cannot do refunds with Venmo. Or, you cannot segment based on giving frequency (annual vs monthly)- though this is hopefully going to be improved with a new segments feature. When they launch a new feature, it is usually thought through only 90% of the way, so there are often bugs or hangups that make the new thing not useable, or only useable with significant workarounds. Reporting is a little difficult, and can take a lot of training to understand how to pull particular reports. The top-level stats reporting isn't very good.

Luminate Online was not improving its product and falling behind digital advances.

    Pros:
So many modern eCRMS are mired in a compromise of ease-of-use and sophistication. How do you make a powerful fundraising and advocacy platform that is easy to use? That has been the ongoing challenge Engaging Networks has focussed on in the development of their tools. Here, there is very little compromise, and that is because of the constant investment in new platform features and optimizations that they make multiple times a year. There is no other platform that we've supported that has been able to keep pace with the needs of their clients and the dynamic nature of the NP sector.
    Cons:
The marketing automation tools are generally very good and fulfill most use cases, but other platforms have more robust logic and pathing tools. I understand that this, along with email marketing is on the roadmap for improvement soon. An improvement on testing marketing automations before production would also be useful.

The quality customer service is the main selling point for us from Engaging Networks. They are incredibly responsive and personable – they know us all by name just as we do them. They have monthly check-ins with us to ensure the software is working and that we are utilizing all the tools offered. They offer quick and helpful support via email or phone and have really handy guides and webinars online for training and onboarding. They roll out new updates and technology every quarter, and they provide all the support you would need to be able to keep up with the pace. I can’t recommend them enough in this regard!

Their user-friendly features in building pages and emails is top notch. They are ahead of the curve in terms of marketing automation, which makes creating sophisticated user journeys possible. They make personalization and complex segmentation easy to achieve.
    Cons:
Not much that they don't offer, can't really complain! We use a developer to create all the code for our action alert and email templates, so I'm not sure how ready to use EN's email and page templates are out of the box.

    - The new page builder module and the CMS elements of it - CARE integration and customisability of the output - First class support from customer service - Added additional field types in the form component i.e. Date, etc - Interconnection between different types of campaigns i.e. the way advocacy campaigns forwarded to fundraising campaigns with data - Comprehensive export feature with lots of filters - Ease of including supporter information onto pages - Facility to upload our own contact data set
    Cons:
    - The new page builder is buggy at times on different browsers i.e. message block throws error on chrome most of the time - The way EN styles are injected i.e. would be ideal for us if EN styles aren't injected after our styles, at the moment EN styles overrides ours in templates - The ability to clear test data before going live, for some reason this was removed from page builder built campaigns - The was messages are implemented, at the moment the output is Iframe content (when HTML format is used) which is hard to style etc - There isn't a way to see all the components saved in library, leads to lot of duplicate blocks - The inability to add labels/headings within a form block, for example, to separate sections within a form or to label question numbers - Can't add default copy to text area (placeholder text)
