Pros

Very user friendly, easy to learn, easy to navigate, very easy workflow, Ease of allocation of duties, great payroll system

Cons

Once a company reaches a point where more in depth reporting or job costing is necessary you will find QuickBooks confining and lacking features. You will then move on to a more robust system like Foundation.

Overall, I like the program, but I know a thing or two about accounting and finance. I would suggest that before you use the program. Do all of the tutorials and read all of the tabs to gain a better understanding of what the program offers and set up your information in totality before you start using the program. Don't try to set it up in bits and pieces.

Pros

I like the efficiency of the program. I have worked with a lot of small business whom often try and buy expensive programs that offer many things they do not use. QBE is a great program for a small business to grow into and it still has many of the features of larger software platforms. Since I work with a lot of businesses, this has been one of the programs I ask them to start with.

Cons

Most of it is self-explanatory, but it does help to have an accounting and finance background to truly get the benefit from the program. It's difficult to undo a mistake because many different areas get changed as transactions are executed. If you do not understand what just happened, matters can quickly go down hill. The help feature can do better in explaining how-to's.

I AM looking for other options

Pros

Easy to use, user friendly, a better version than QuickBooks Pro, able to handle several businesses and/or divisions

Cons

too easy to perform things that aren't GAAP approved, locks up occasionally, difficult at times to get customer service without holding and holding and holding and then being transferred, and the BIGGEST issue I have is there is NO template for payroll timesheets that can be imported or exported

I would recommend this software

Pros

Ease of access from multiple locations. Solid platform and good reporting. It is very intuitive to navigate.

Cons

It might be too easy to make adjustments in amounts without an audit trail. A user can make changes to amounts in items that have already been posted

I have tried several other software packages in the past for accounting. This by far is the best.

Pros

The product is extremely friendly. Upgrades are user defined, we still have users running both 2016 and 2017 without issues.

Cons

Some of the support articles are not up to date. We had an issue with the firewalls, but after trial and error we were able to figure it out.

Value for Money

Overall, the features and ease of use is worth the value as long as you don't have more than 5 or 6 users.

Pros

Learning to use the product is quick and easy. Setup is much easier than most accounting software. You can customize views for most any windows.

Cons

Getting a report to show what you want can some times be difficult, especially for a certain date range with a running total. Adding additional users will cost you once you go past the initial limit.

Necessary important product. Unfortunately, I think they know that, so innovation and the user's experience is far less of a priority than it should be.

Pros

Like how clean the product is. Like that it generates the reports our company needs, and is accessible in any situation.

Cons

The user's experience isn't fantastic. Also, we've contacted customer service several times without much help.

Hosting Switch Handled Terribly By Intuit

Find another product. Don't hitch your horse to this wagon. This company doesn't care about your needs. Only saving money on hosting.

Pros

Quickbooks has been the cornerstone of our business for 15 years. The enterprise version is robust enough to cover our needs as a medium sized business. Our accountant likes it too. Until now, I've never considered using anyone else.

Cons

I loved this product when I made the move to the cloud a year ago. There were a LOT of issues getting it to work. However the support provided was high quality and very responsive. Two months ago they changed cloud hosting companies without any notice. We just went into work and our books were offline. Our books went offline for 2 weeks. Only ONE of us could login. (There are 5 of us so one person had to do quotes and admin for everyone) They no longer allowed you to call for support and made you post support ticket, after support ticket, after support ticket that went unanswered. They were on a 3 hour different time zone so if we had an issue at 2pm, we didn't hear back for 1-3 days. We couldn't bill our customers for three weeks. We couldn't quote our customers for three weeks (think crappy looking excel sheets that require re-entry into quickbooks instead of high quality, professional quotes). There was absolutely no way to get a human being on the phone to help us. Eventually we called the sales line and nobody gave a crap. No compensation offered. NO free month. NO apology. Shortly after the hosting move we were evacuated by British Columbia wildfires from our office for three weeks. Nobody in our office could work on quickbooks from outside our office. So at the time we needed our software to perform the most, the product failed. What is the point of having cloud software if the support is so poor that you can't get help?

Great buy!

Pros

After a guided setup to create a company file, you are able to easily navigate using the dashboard or home screen. Icons are labeled intuitively like "pay bills" or "deposit". It doesn't get any easier.

Cons

With ease comes behind the scenes accounting transactions that can be your best friend or your worst enemy - know what happens on both the "front & back" end before recording transactions and you'll be just fine!

Compared to the price that you'd have to pay for a customized system, this out-of-the-box program will obviate the need for intensive IT support.

Cons

The user really should understand accounting to be able to grasp what is happening with the "automatic" features.

I enjoy QuickBooks and recommend anyone looking for a customer data software to check out QuickBooks.

Pros

I like how easy QuickBooks is to use. It is user-friendly, offers different functions depending on what your needs are, and the customer service aspect is outstanding. I have had to call quite a few times (I'm not the most tech-savvy) and they are really friendly and helpful, which is appreciated.

Cons

I think it could be a tad bit more customizable when it comes to the client fields. Our business needs for our clients' information is not the norm, so being able to change or add unique fields would be really helpful.

Value for Money

Overall, I think QuickBooks is a great platform for the non-accountant to use for bookkeeping. I think there are definitely areas in which they can improve, though.

Pros

Quickbooks has great functionality. It really can do just about anything you need it to. You can run very specific reports down to exactly what you want to see. It is multi-faceted and relatively easy to navigate.

Cons

I find that the software is a bit laggy. This could be an issue with my computer but I doubt that. I have been having a very difficult time trying to link my merchant account with my Quickbooks account. I was on the phone with support for 3 hours in one day to try and figure out the issue. Additionally, I find that it can be difficult to navigate. Some things that may seem logical are often times not in QB.

Pros

This software allowed our startup to stay organized and build a vast accounting system, using only two employees. I don't know what other software would allow the same level of oversight for a reasonable cost.

Cons

Not truly a con, but we did require an additional outside consultant to help our system be robust enough to withstand some of the strange requests from our sales department.

Great for a small company!

Pros

It is easy to navigate through the software. It's easy to understand the process flow; you can bring your Acknowledgement/Sales Order to the Purchase Order, then your Vendor Bill to a Customer Invoice.

Cons

Not a great software for managing inventory. The reports are not accurate, as it would show the same item with different on hand quantities as of the same date...
