Fundly CRM, powered by NonProfitEasy, is built around several integrated core modules that manage interactions, donors, memberships, volunteers, events, communication, and programs. The volunteer management module is broken out to include skills, interests, participation, and training. The event dashboard allows users to view registration trends, create recurring events, integrate box office ticketing, and customize tickets and receipts. Fundly CRM also comes with email marketing functionality backed with data collection and reporting capabilities that will create custom reports and mailing lists. Since all of the modules are linked together, there is no need for any double-entry in the system.

Fundly CRM is suited for smaller nonprofits looking for a complete end-to-end solution.

We currently use a lite version of Nonprofit Easy, since we are a very small organization with around 150 donors. This was highly affordable compared to other options and suits our basic needs for being able to organize and track donor relationships. The donation statistics and reports are great.

It is not efficient or intuitive to use, and it frequently lags or logs me out altogether. This may be different for customized or full versions.

Recommendations

I can only speak for the lite version, but these are the issues I've had:

It often logs me out or lags, and the processes to upload or alter data are not smooth or efficient. It does not offer a template for uploading CSV files, so that was a learning process that resulted in a lot of extra, useless contacts created with secondary addresses as names, etc. Many of the data categories that you can include when adding an individual contact are not options on an import, so if you need to import many contacts with a significant amount of data, you either have to abandon those extra data categories (like secondary email addresses, groups, etc.) or enter the information one contact at a time.

With volunteer and donor management, I was expecting there would be a more functional CRM piece. Most of my volunteer management involves recruitment and managing documents, training, and a pipeline. If you want to track volunteer hours, what events they attended, and send them emails, this could be a good solution. However, there is no way to manage relationships beyond accessing each individual and making notes or tasks, but this does not connect to the calendar or show up in any organized or central location.

The mail client does work, but again, I was frequently having it log me out or freeze in the middle of creating a new template, regardless of which browser or operating system I was using. They recently added MailChimp list export options, and I switched to using MailChimp completely for mass communications with both donors and volunteers.

Price and ease of use. They were very easy to work with. So far, so good.

Haven't run across anything yet that can't be overcome. Some components don't really apply to our organization, but it's not that big of a deal to have them appear.

Recommendations

If you haven't had experience with donor software before, find someone that has so you are asking the right questions for your needs.

I like how the contacts can be organized by family connections, organization connections, and contact types.

I made a newsletter from a Word document I've already created. When I tried to copy and paste it into the Newsletter section, the text and pictures were very skewed. I had to spend an extra hour trying to get it to look right again to send out to my contacts through my contact types lists.

Recommendations

I would love to pull my contact lists into an Avery template for address labels automatically.

NonProfitEasy is very user-friendly, and the tech support conference calls are great.

I don't always have email addresses for people and can't enter them as a contact unless I do.

Recommendations

Be sure to play around with it a lot first. Enter fake names and events to get a feel of what can be done before putting in real information.

I love being able to sync up people to their jobs without having to create two separate profiles (like in our old system). I also like how you can create relationships between two people but still have separate profiles for them.

The auction module runs very slowly. I am told this is being fixed in the June rollout, and I hope this is the case. The slowness made our auction event very frustrating.

Recommendations

Do a demo. The staff will walk you through exactly what the system is capable of, and the prospective buyer can decide if it's what they are looking for.

It's aces from anywhere, and the data is comprehensive.

It still needs some help with the e-news features. Newsletters are still a challenge with formatting, but they're not insurmountable.

Recommendations

Ask for a longer demo with real time data from your own organization.

The tech support has been very good. They are quick to reply for the most part. They will advise if the tool cannot do what is being asked and will give the how-to or advise if it is on the wish list.

Tutorials are so good. Searching for what you are looking for is difficult unless you use "NonProfitEasy language".

Recommendations

Good online tool for small-to-midsize users. It takes months to learn the tool because it is not very intuitive. There is an additional cost to migrate data, and it is only as good as the data sent to NPE by the user. The newsletter feature is still lacking in capabilities and difficult to use.

It has a very creative organization style. I enjoy the relationship connections in the contacts and the street address confirmation.

It took me a while to realize that the contact information I was typing in the contacts was not saving as I continued on to make a new contact.

Recommendations

I would really enjoy it if the information saved every time you left the page or automatically saved after time increments (every minute or so). I've had to retype a lot of information in the contacts due to this limitation, which has slowed down my progress considerably. Also, it would be great if I could create contact lists based on the contact types. For example, if I could click on a Contact Type Icon designated for board members and it would be a link to the list of all the board members, that would be awesome.

The software is functional, attractive, and affordable compared to similar brands on the market. It also seems all-encompassing; there is very little that you have to add to the basic package to get started immediately. Customer service has been great!

Recommendations

Really try out the sample database and make sure it works for you. Consider all the add-ons available for the low price. Very happy about the possibilities with NPE!
