Concur is a cloud-based expense and travel management software solution that enables executives to manage travel expenses. It allows finance executives to monitor expenses and cash flows related to travel expenditures.

Concur’s Travel and Expenses feature assists with travel processes, from booking to approval to payment. In addition, the software automates data capture from receipt images and submits expense reports for approvals.

Concur’s Invoice automates accounts payable processes by utilizing templates and predefined reports. The system can also customize workflows and automate vendor payments.

Concur’s Intelligence feature enables employees to create customized dashboards, providing a summary of multiple reports that enable finance managers to track travel expenses.

Concur also shares automated alerts with the finance team and provides reports and dashboards. Support is offered via phone. Users can even refer to online FAQs for basic inquiries.

Cons

Overall a great piece of software. Highly recommend.

Pros

The software is great for managing purchases and arranging travel for yourself or guests. It’s very easy to use and intuitive. Cancelling and changing trips is also pretty easy and their customer service has always been great.

Cons

Sometimes it’ll take a couple of tries to load all of the flight options. I think it’s just a delay in the system. Also, I wish there was a way to send others their itinerary without the prices of travel posting.

What I really like about Concur is that you can have two approvers, easy to implement, very customizable, and it's easy to connect most ERPs.

Cons

Improvement needs to be made on allowing for easier editing of expenses at one time without clicking into different windows, the UX could be refreshed and the system downtime needs to be improved

I love the fact that everything is tracked and available. It gets rid of the old communication errors that happened when a receipt or request was misplaced. I think the biggest impact it has had on us is the ease and functionality of managing travel expenses. It eliminates a lot of the headache we used to have with traveling reps.

Cons

Every software comes with glitches and hangups now and then, but the customer support and communication of staff has helped smooth out anything major from coming up.

Filing an expense report have never been this easier, its a next, next, finish kind of thing. On the filers end, one will be able to upload the picture of the receipt thus making it faster for the approver to verify the details. No need for paper filing anymore.
Crediting and reimbursements are faster too.

Cons

No option to print the expense report in the mobile app. Need to login via the web application to print.

I love how seamlessly Concur links to my corporate AMEX card. It does most of the work for me and when it comes time to do my expense reports, there isn't much else I need to do. I also think the customer service is fabulous and the tool itself almost always performs well.

Cons

Not much, but sometimes there are bugs or it slows down. Also, I find that it definitely works the best on Chrome, it seems to lag on IE (but everything does).

Great implementation experience. Nice workflow that you can customize and set up for your company needs. Nice interface and UI for users. It is great that there is an app to use when on the go. Love the fact there are integration capabilities that you can build out and customize to extract data to then ingest into other software.

Cons

User support is very hard to deal with in the fact that you have to submit 'cases' via the website and do not always get the correct person that understands your wants and needs....I find this extremely unbearable support after coming out of implementation where you had a dedicated rep that could communicate effectively with you and understands your custom set up of the system. The client service rep after implementation does little to no help with requests. The administration of the system is cumbersome and very complex. The admin has a lot to learn and a lot of different areas of the system to manage. The mobile application doesn't allow for all necessary functionality for users for approvals. System outages have gotten better but occur way too frequently.

This tool is amazing for capturing credit card transactions. It easily imports each visa transaction into the system. Then employees link their receipts (which are easily captured through an app or an email into the system) to each transaction, code and submit. It allows employees to manage their own transactions, code their expenses to the appropriate category, and submit for their supervisor to review their transactions. It then automatically pays all reports that were submitted upon accounting's final review.

Cons

Some charges (such as late fees) are initially hidden by the system and they have to manually be activated to make it to an employees account. It is also a little more challenging to track timeliness of report processing without doing quite a bit of manual research. Otherwise it's a great system!

We have been using Concur now for a couple years and it has cut back the time and cost of doing accounts payable in half at least. We really like Concur and we plan to keep using this software in the future.

Pros

The product is very easy to learn and easy to teach to employees. It takes care of all of our accounts payable needs including invoices and expenses reports submitted by employees. We also have the Concur travel application and our sales team is very happy with this. Easy to book travel and find good deals.

Cons

I wish there were some more standard accounting reports included, but if you need a specific report Concur can usually customize one for you.

Pros

I like how it integrates things together so that it eliminates steps. Entering a receipt and attaching a photo of it is very easy. Also, expenses are all gathered in one spot and you can easily add them to an expense report at which point they disappear from expenses so that you don't double them up. Also, the app lets you know if you don't have all the required information for an expense. Coupled with the ExpenseIt app it's very easy to enter an expense just by taking a picture of your receipt. Expense reports are fairly easy to manage and submit. Most of the organizational and cost center information is already entered for you. Simple user interface on home page.

Cons

Takes a while to get used to the software and figure out how to enter items. Error correcting has sometimes proved to not be as easy as entering items. If your hotel has a different rate each night there is no way to itemize it that way. You end up having to average out the rate to make it work and if it ends up being an odd multiple you have to figure out a way to make up the difference. There haven't been enough categories for our department to categorize many of our expenses to.

I can log my expenses directly from my phone. I can also track mileage as I make my trips. I no longer have to spend hours doing manual expense reports. The app walks you through the process step by step and guides you to ensure every field necessary is populated. It eliminates the chances of having errors.

Cons

Although the app walks you through beach step, it's still somewhat difficult to understand some of the fields and what they mean. I'm still in the beginning stages of learning how to navigate through the app.

Both the mobile app and the website are easy to use and MUCH simplifies the process of submitting expense reports. Paper receipts are a thing of the past and I can code expenses and post photos of receipts on the go. Everything my accounting department needs from me is in one place and because everything is done online I don't have to track down physical signatures for expense approvals. Love it!

Cons

There is some functionality I wish I had as an end user (like adding a new project code) that I need to request from our accounting department administrator but I am unsure if this is an internal setting or a software limitation.

Pros

The best thing about Concur is it includes all expectations for expenses. You know exactly what you need to include for your expenses to be paid in a timely manner: comments, photos, dates. It is easy to upload in real time too, so you're not stuck digging around for old receipts that may have been lost or misplaced in travel.

Cons

I don't really have any major cons other than Concur not processing over weekend days. It's best to submit the reports on Mondays to have the fastest turnaround.

The tool is relatively user-friendly and they are often adding new features to reduce the time it takes to do an expense report.

Cons

The reporting suite (where Admins or Approvers would go to see reports) is in need of a major makeover. The tools are antiquated and clunky. It is not user friendly. Our managers have never been able to effectively use the reporting tools. It's way too many clicks to get to the reports, and all the canned reports never really capture 100% of what you want to see all in one report. This means you need a lot of custom reports, which you either at through the nose for, or have someone do in house.

It might have been a personalization that my company set, but Concur was connected to other expense/budget systems and although my manager was someone, they were not able to approve because they were not set up in Concur due to the fact that they were a new manager. There needs to be a feed or connection with HR systems that mark of individuals who have direct reports in some way.
