Concur is a cloud-based expense and travel management software solution that enables executives to manage travel expenses. It allows finance executives to monitor expenses and cash flows related to travel expenditures.

Concur’s Travel and Expenses feature assists with travel processes, from booking to approval to payment. In addition, the software automates data capture from receipt images and submits expense reports for approvals.

Concur’s Invoice automates accounts payable processes by utilizing templates and predefined reports. The system can also customize workflows and automate vendor payments.

Concur’s Intelligence feature enables employees to create customized dashboards, providing a summary of multiple reports that enable finance managers to track travel expenses.

Concur also shares automated alerts with the finance team and provides reports and dashboards. Support is offered via phone. Users can even refer to online FAQs for basic inquiries.

Again, once you get over the hump of learning which expense category to pick and how to enter a travel itinerary, it's smooth sailing.

Pros

We use Concur for all expense reports at work, and, once you get the hang of it, it makes for a quick expense report process. You're able to set up delegates to enter reports on your behalf, but approval still comes to you. Able to set up multiple layers of approval. For instance, our department directors review forms, and then our HR team reviews forms for policy compliance. Also has a mobile app for convenience!

Cons

Steep learning curve, especially when learning to set up travel itineraries. Also, the expense categories are not always straightforward. That said, these challenges are not insurmountable.

Concur is a great software for travel and expense. We set each user up and provide them the guides on how to submit travel and expense. You can modify it depending on your company's policies. It's simple and easy to use for the users.

Cons

Reporting in Concur is difficult to use and I find that I have to submit tickets to create unique reports for our company. It does have general reports, but if your company is looking for more detail, it does take some time for Concur to build.

Cons

Concur has been known to crash or have glitches. This mostly happens to me when booking travel. Overall though I've had a positive experience with the product.

Concur seems to have it all for larger orgs looking to wrap travel and expense compliance into one package.

Pros

Concur has everything for me to book corporate travel, build expense reports and more. It's kind of like Expedia and Expensify wrapped into one. It also makes it really easy to see if the travel I'm booking meets our company travel guidelines.

Cons

It has everything in one, so it is a little complex, and uses lots of small text and little links to navigate, which is quite different from the more modern apps I'm used to using.

Used this application for expense tracking. Helped out a lot at end of year for accounting purposes.

Pros

Simple, intuitive program. Lets you upload receipts and other files, which is nice. Keeps track of travel docs and other expenses to help manage each individual's business expenses on one screen. Works on phone app so uploading stuff on the go is great and convenient.

Cons

The phone app doesn't have as much capabilities as the application on your computer. You're generally limited to reading data as opposed to writing on the phone app but you probably won't be trying to do anything intricate via the phone app anyways.

As a GovCon system's consultant, this is the expense/travel capturing solution I recommend to clients, that can afford it.

Pros

This is the top-shelf of expense/travel management software. It's easy for users. Administration isn't terribly difficult. Integration is possible depending on the accounting solution. It has a lot of reporting and analysis tools. It can save a lot of time for F&A staff if the software is setup correctly.

Cons

It's a bit on the expensive side. Customer service isn't always the most helpful, depending on who you get. The sales team can be a bit pushy and make promises their development team hasn't released yet. Not real cons to say about the actual system itself.

The implementation staff was very good but work through the process in a way that does not always seem to address concerns in real time. There ends up being a lot of back a forth, questions, etc., but the answers are always complete and applicable.

Cons

It is not quite as user friendly as I was expecting. It interface is pretty good but some of the best functionality is in a companion app rather than the direct smartphone app. The admin side is clunky and not intuitive at all to get through the processes it manages.

The software is great for managing purchases and arranging travel for yourself or guests. It’s very easy to use and intuitive. Cancelling and changing trips is also pretty easy and their customer service has always been great.

Cons

Sometimes it’ll take a couple of tries to load all of the flight options. I think it’s just a delay in the system. Also, I wish there was a way to send others their itinerary without the prices of travel posting.

This product is user friendly and makes expense tracking so easy. I love the mobile app - makes keeping track of all my business expenses manageable and being able to snap a pic of my receipt with my phone ensures I never lose a receipt! Tracking the approval process is simple and I always know where its at and when to expect reimbursements.

Cons

The only item I noted as a con is that sometimes expenses will duplicate (when they aren't actual duplicates) because they are similar in nature and cost.

Connecting Concur to my business profile for Lyft and Uber makes it really easy to track business travel expenses through those services. I only have to remember to choose my business profile when I look for a ride.

Importing expenses from email is easy and efficient, but you have to know that ALL expenses recognized are imported and you could end up with non business related expenses in your report.

Integration with Tripit is seamless and makes tracking travel really easy.

Cons

I wish it was easier to manage imported expenses. Also, I've had bad luck with the system going down when I needed it most.

Being able to record my expenses as they happen.

Pros

Having an app so I can record my expenses as I go, speeds up my claims no end. I used to save up a month or so and it would take me ages to go through and add them all in, now I can record them as I go on the go. The app lets you take pictures of your receipts as well which is great.

Cons

The last time I used it there seemed to be an issue with booking business mileage as the option was missing - still with the desktop version was as it should be.

Cons

It is not very user-friendly or intuitive. There is a pretty long learning curve and often done via trial and error. Usually, something happens that triggers an error, so you have to dig into the details to understand why and fix the problem. The overall design could use updating too, especially when trying to book travel.

Being able to expense remotely and from the cloud is beneficial.

Horrible system and huge inconvenience, although it seems after many years Concur is finally starting to address user issues to improve their system.

Pros

My university requires us to use Concur to file all of our expenses for job-related travel. At first, it seemed like a nice system. I used to app to take pictures of receipts, which was handy. Also, it seems that they very recently upgraded their system to make it more usable.

Cons

Almost every time I submitted an expense report, it was returned with errors. I am a PhD candidate, and for the life of me I could not seem to get these reports correct. One big problem was that my departments gives us per diem for food expenses, but Concur would always create an error if our total expenses did not add up to the exact amount of approved funding. So I often had to worked with our department secretary to manipulate the expenses so that the system would accept my report. The business office at my university was no help either. In fact, they seemed to be purposely obtuse about Concur. In summary, using Concur was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences of my graduate career, which says a lot. There were multiple occasions where the business office made a mistake in an account number, blamed me for it, and then it ended up taking many months and lots of arguing before I finally got my reimbursement.

it saves me so much time and is easy to use

Pros

doing expenses when you are out from the office is really simple using this tool. you can add an expense, add a receipt from your camera by taking a picture or add one from your device
(phone or laptop).
as a manager the approval of expenses from staff is really very simple and means you dont have to wait until your admin day back at the office

probably the only two thing are 1. that the apple phone app and android phone app have different functionality . 2. if you approve someone else expenses you cant go back and review it after you have approved it in the the way you can review your own submitted expenses

I had an expense report sent back to me to be updated because they said it didn't have the necessary attached receipts, but the receipts were attached. I ended up having to start over because nothing we did would make it so the next level of people reviewing my submission could see them. It only happened the one time but it was a pain.

Ease of quickly being reimbursed after a work trip

Pros

I travel often for my organization and quick reimbursement is critical for me so that funds are available for my next trip. Concur provides a direct line to my AP department for quick payment as taking photos of your expenses and generating an expense report is done easily by a few clicks. This is a huge time saver for me and provides a solid history of your past trips and expenses.

Cons

The only con I have for Concur is you have to input dates twice. Once during the initial start of the day and next the expense date on your receipt. Though this is error on my part I believe this could make the experience a little better.

SAP concur is great, i use it all the time for business travel.

Pros

Being able to take pictures of my receipts and log them into an expense report from my phone is amazing. It is so useful and I don't know what I'd do without it on business trips.

Cons

The structure of creating a claim is kindof wonky. You can take a picture of a receipt and then later create an expense from that, or you can create an expense and add a receipt picture directly to it. Its also easy to forget or not know that the expense you create is not automatically submitted, and that you have to add it to a claim and then submit.

Pros

Easy to use, with ability to upload receipts as well. Automatic foreign exchange conversion also helpful for frequent international travelers.

Cons

It sometimes stalls, but it's a rare thing. No significant cons that I can think of, to be honest! Great service.
