MediTouch EHR Electronic Health Record Software
| 11 Reviews (4.5/5) |
MediTouch EHR™ is a complete electronic health record (EHR) that was designed to be both web-based and offer a touchscreen user interface. As a result, the product is highly differentiated and easy-to-use. The core EHR offers functionality for charting, problem lists, medication management, electronic prescribing, allergy checks, order management, lab tests and document management, among other capabilities. The system can also be configured to meet a provider’s personal charting preferences and custom forms can be implemented to work with MediTouch’s touchscreen technology. MediTouch EHR can be deployed standalone or in conjunction with HealthFusion’s practice management system. The complete system is certified by an ONC-ATCB to meet the meaningful use criteria for ARRA stimulus funds.
When HealthFusion set about designing its own EHR, the company decided to focus on designing a system that was revolutionary in its simplicity. Because the system is entirely web-based and hosted by HealthFusion, customers do not need to install or maintain any software on-premise. Users simply log in and access the system through a web browser on any Windows or Apple computer. Fans of Apple iPads will be especially attracted to the system as it was designed with this popular new device in mind.
HealthFusion prices the MediTouch EHR on a pay-per-provider, monthly subscription. The monthly subscription fees include all customer support and training services. All support is provided domestically by full-time HealthFusion employees.

MediTouch EHR has very innovative technology and is a well-built system and allows users to very simply navigate through the software. I was impressed at how the patient documentation was quick and efficient. I would recommend the MediTouch EHR software to anyone looking for a system you will be confident and satisfied with.
Roy, our customer service representative, has been a great resource when I've had questions or trouble figuring something out on my own. We have recommended this software to other health offices. Thank you for the great experience.
It's also great to be able to log in any time and anywhere with an Internet connection. Whether you're logging on from a desktop, laptop, iPad, or even your iPhone, it just works.
The implementation process went smoothly, and someone was always available to help us if we had any questions or concerns. HealthFusion offers tutorials and webinars to help you learn how to use MediTouch, although we didn't even find these tools necessary. The software was just that easy to figure out. However, It's good to know that the training materials are there if you need them.
Customer service for this product is what keeps them going, I believe. They always have someone available on the phone, and now they even offer an online chat option if you have a quick question.
We just have one suggestion for improvement. We would like more warning ahead for when updates and changes will be made, and how these will affect the way we currently do things.
As no true EHR exists for a general surgeon, I have been able to tweak this program very easily and adapt this to any surgical practice. I hope this customization can be shared with other surgeons who are considering EHR.
Customer support and service to the customer are top priorities at MediTouch (HealthFusion), and I have never been disappointed by their response. They will work with you to resolve issues and expedite your return to normal function within your practice.
In consideration of any EHR Format, the ease of use is defined by the assistance that it may bring to the clinic setting. The limiting factor seems to be the rate of data delivery. While this may not be a problem in the larger populated cities, rural areas may need to look at a faster upload/download to improve this, which may come at an added expense.
The practices that have made the transition to MediTouch EHR said they would never go back to paper charts! They love the ease of customization and utilizing Grand Central. The nursing staff can't imagine not having e-Prescribing.
Customer support is second to none! Their goal is to resolve your issue, and I am never treated rudely.
Implementation went really well...we went through a webinar presentation on what to do and how to do it and they demonstrated it to us all. We all brought it up on our own individual devices and worked on it for an hour and then we came back together with a webinar again and answered questions that we had as a result of our practical exercises. Even today if someone has a question, we can get it answered very, very quickly.
It is a full service electronic health record and the advantage of MediTouch is once I walk out of the room, I'm done with patient charting. It is all over. I'm doing it on an iPad, it is right there in front of the patient; the patient doesn't feel like I'm not paying attention to them because I'm sitting there talking to them face to face. I'm just hitting a few drop down menus here and there and I never loose eye contact with that patient.
So it's absolutely dynamite it terms of saving time and documenting a superb medical record interaction. Even during my interaction with patients, I can finish up their prescriptions and send them electronically right there on the spot. The SOAP note feature is phenomenal. Over on the left hand side of the screen, I have got S.O.A.P so I can easily switch from Subjective to Objective to Assessment and Plan very very quickly and easily. Again my patient doesn't even notice that I'm doing all of that.
Being a pediatric office, we have discovered that we needed some "special" things out of the program. We have contacted customer support and always received wonderful customer service. They take our suggestions and ideas seriously and implement them when they can. A good example was the way the weight was displayed on the encounter. The program would round the weight down to the nearest whole number. As an adult, the extra 14 oz does not have an impact on the meds prescribed. On an infant, 5 pounds is much different than 5 pounds 14oz and does have a huge impact on the course of treatment. When Customer service was contacted about this, they immediately made the change in the software and we were able to see accurate weight the next day.
We've been using HealthFusion software for a little over a year now. Prior to that we were using paper for charts and scheduling. The Practice Management program is pretty straightforward and can be mastered easily. The EHR side, for our purposes, needed to be customized due to the nature of the practice. The Doctor also uses voice recognition software with it, which works well. After gathering information through the program during the first three months of 2010, we qualified as Meaningful Users and received our money.
As with any EHR systems there are going to be glitches, i.e. 5010, new requirements, etc. The most important point is how the matters get resolved. This company responds to the issues and is helpful to solve the problems that may arise.
