MediTouch EHR® is a complete electronic health record (EHR) that was designed to be both web-based and offer a touchscreen user interface. As a result, the product is highly differentiated and easy-to-use. The core EHR offers functionality for charting, problem lists, medication management, electronic prescribing, allergy checks, order management, lab tests and document management, among other capabilities. The system can also be configured to meet a provider’s personal charting preferences and custom forms can be implemented to work with MediTouch’s touchscreen technology. MediTouch EHR can be deployed standalone or in conjunction with HealthFusion’s practice management system. The complete system is certified by an ONC-ATCB to meet the meaningful use criteria for ARRA stimulus funds.

When HealthFusion set about designing its own EHR, the company decided to focus on designing a system that was revolutionary in its simplicity. Because the system is entirely web-based and hosted by HealthFusion, customers do not need to install or maintain any software on-premise. Users simply log in and access the system through a web browser on any Windows or Apple computer. Fans of Apple iPads will be especially attracted to the system as it was designed with this popular new device in mind. MediTouch software for iPad, also the fastest iPad EHR, is completely web-based.

HealthFusion prices the MediTouch EHR® on a pay-per-provider, monthly subscription. The monthly subscription fees include all customer support and training services. All support is provided domestically by full-time HealthFusion employees.

 

Recent News

In February 2012, HealthFusion’s MediTouch won the Surescripts White Coat of Quality award for its e-prescribing system, which means it is certified for all electronic messages for prescription benefits, medication history and prescription routing. Of the 300 ambulatory Meaningful Use certified EHRs, the MediTouch system is among the top 20 percent to receive this award. The criteria for this award in 2011 required the system to provide a signed commitment to quality and measure quality metrics as specified by industry guidelines.

In January 2012, HealthFusion, Inc. partnered with the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) to improve patient care using EHRs. This partnership helps qualified Podiatrists take advantage of Medicaid and Medicare EHR incentive stimulus funds and improves the quality and efficiency of patient care. MediDraw®—one of the more powerful features of MediTouch EHR®, HealthFusion's EHR Software—empowers Podiatrists to take photos of a patient’s feet and ankles using a smartphone or tablet, make notes and draw on the images with their fingertips, and upload them to the patient's chart stored safely in the Cloud.

In August 2011, HealthFusion announced the release of MediDraw, a new EHR feature that lets physicians draw or write directly on patient pictures within an EHR. The tool also gives users more browser mobility so they can easily upload pictures to the patient’s medical records. Physicians can use this feature on any type of computer, Apple devices or PCs, with a fingertip on a browser, a mouse or a trackpad.

The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) began an exclusive partnership with HealthFusion in July 2010 to promote the adoption of EHRs and introduce MediTouch to tens of thousands of physician members around the nation. The goal of the partnership is to help healthcare providers secure Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive stimulus funds and offer an all-in-one EHR that easily integrates with HealthFusion MediTouch Practice Management solutions.

The final decision for choosing MediTouch Electronic Health Record was the seamless connection into the HealthFusion clearinghouse. My previous PM/EHR required separate upload for claims and downloads for ERAs. The MediTouch method allows chasing denials much easier given that clearinghouse is built in.

MediTouch EHR has ease of use, and a great voice recognition with IPAD for dictation - better than the Dragon application I was using. We were not using a EMR prior to this. The training process was intensive with all the webinars, and online material, but easy to do online chats or calls to help us work through what was not understood. Of course, there were some online customer representatives who seemed to be more knowledgeable, but if someone didn't know the answers, most of time they got someone else to assist. Implementation took too long. We're almost a year into the service, so we are still having to transfer info into the chart; which when all is in, I believe the system, like any data transfer, will be less time consuming. It certainly has organized medications and refills. Faxing patient encounters within the system is nice as well, as there are quick turnarounds. It will be nice to have the system on smart phones.

We were using another EHR before we found MediTouch. After the phone interview and the ease of the system, we decided to change. The customer service is great and there is not a lot of down time like with a lot of EHRs. We have gone through three other EHRs before MediTouch and we really love the easy user friendly features.

I have used two major EMR's in the past. Both were good, but had huge learning curves and there were always things I needed or wanted the EMR to do that they just could not do! Since switching to Healthfusion Meditouch I have been very pleased. The support was good, making the learning curve excellent. The interface is great and so far it does everything I need it to do and in an user friendly way! I love it.

I switched to MediTouch after being with my old software for about 2 years, and a brief 3 month experience with Office Ally. The customer service was key to our switch and MediTouch is easy for everyone from the biller, to the front office manager, to myself. It is the EHR that we all agree on is the best for our practice.

I have recently switched to MediTouch from another EHR. From signing up to going live was less than 30 days. The support staff at HealthFusion has been nothing short of amazing and everyone has been incredibly helpful. Having a built-in clearinghouse is a great bonus, so you don't have to leave the HealthFusion ecosystem to do your billing. The EHR side of things is so far great and I am learning more each day, it is certainly a much more robust system than what I was using before. I no longer have to do backups, no longer have to worry about whether a local server is working or not, and when I need support I can get it nearly instantaneously via phone or a live chat. My staff takes full advantage of this service along with the daily webinars. As I become more comfortable and familiar with the system, I will be moving my part to my iPad and will be able to make full use of the touch screen capabilities. Additionally, I am very impressed with the built-in Podiatry templates.

I have started a new practice and researched a lot of EHR platforms. I chose Meditouch because of how seamlessly everything was integrated and how user-friendly it was.

I am still in the process of learning and implementing things, but so far it has been very easy to use. The customer support has been great and very responsive. I love how beautifully it works with the iPad and Claims submissions have been very easy.

We are a privately owned Podiatry clinic. We knew we wanted an EMR when we opened the practice and had heard good reviews from other users of Health Fusion. We had experience with other EMR’s at larger clinics. We bought it in August of 2012 and have been using it since. At first we were nervous about the implementation, since we had previously learned other EMR’s at other clinics, which was very stressful. However, learning how to use and customize Health Fusion took less than a week! We watched the seminars and played around with it, which helped the most. Customizing the options took a little time at the beginning but has made our lives 100% more simple as we use it in our practice. It’s nice that you can continue to customize the system as you’ve been using it and decide you want to change or add anything. It’s extremely easy to use, and if you have any questions the customer service team walks you through everything. The hold time is surprisingly short with customer service. Health Fusion definitely allows us to focus on patient care instead of technology. Plus it’s great that you can log in at home or on our iPad in order to start charting while you’re with the patient or finish charting after hours. We’ve been extremely happy with Health Fusion from a clinical aspect, to billing and scheduling. Love HealthFusion.

I am new to MediTouch but not new to EHRs. I was trained in residency on an EMR and implemented one that was a server based EHR right out of residency. I became frustrated with the upkeep and the cost of tech support, not to mention the limitations of not being able to use my EHR whenever and where ever I want. Not that I want to work from home, but when I can sit on the couch with my kids while they watch cartoons, and I sign charts or look over labs, it keeps me from having to be at the office all the time. I am excited about what MediTouch has to offer and looking forward to seeing where it can take me.

Before HealthFusion my office used paper charts. I wanted to find an efficient EMR system compatible with tablets. After reviewing several EMR systems, I chose HealthFusion. It is affordable, easy to access from any computer, and well organized. Also, it's full of convenient features such as care plans, procedure notes, patient document management, and inter-staff messaging. The customer support has answered calls promptly. I would recommend HealthFusion to my colleagues.
