MediTouch EHR Software

MediTouch EHR® is a complete electronic health record (EHR) that was designed to be both web-based and offer a touchscreen user interface. As a result, the product is highly differentiated and easy-to-use. The core EHR offers functionality for charting, problem lists, medication management, electronic prescribing, allergy checks, order management, lab tests and document management, among other capabilities. The system can also be configured to meet a provider’s personal charting preferences and custom forms can be implemented to work with MediTouch’s touchscreen technology. MediTouch EHR can be deployed standalone or in conjunction with HealthFusion’s practice management system. The complete system is certified by an ONC-ATCB to meet the meaningful use criteria for ARRA stimulus funds.

When HealthFusion set about designing its own EHR, the company decided to focus on designing a system that was revolutionary in its simplicity. Because the system is entirely web-based and hosted by HealthFusion, customers do not need to install or maintain any software on-premise. Users simply log in and access the system through a web browser on any Windows or Apple computer. Fans of Apple iPads will be especially attracted to the system as it was designed with this popular new device in mind. MediTouch software for iPad, also the fastest iPad EHR, is completely web-based.

HealthFusion prices the MediTouch EHR® on a pay-per-provider, monthly subscription. The monthly subscription fees include all customer support and training services. All support is provided domestically by full-time HealthFusion employees.

After an unsuccessful implementation with a different software vendor, my doctor was introduced to MediTouch through his specialty society. To be quite honest, I was not excited at all about learning another system, but demoed the product and was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and touch screen features that were offered. We are currently in the implementation phase and will begin using the system in two weeks. We have experienced excellent customer service through the entire process, and are looking forward to our "live" date!

I own Ideal Billing Service, LLC and provide medical billing services to different types of medical providers. MediTouch is my first experience with an EHR system but it has been very user-friendly, easy-to-learn and my clients are very pleased with it. The implementation of the software was simple and quick. The training provided and training material available make learning this system very easy.

MediTouch EHR has very innovative technology and is a well-built system and allows users to very simply navigate through the software. I was impressed at how the patient documentation was quick and efficient. I would recommend the MediTouch EHR software to anyone looking for a system you will be confident and satisfied with.

I work for a recently opened pediatrics office. The pediatrician I work for shopped around for an EHR software system before choosing HealthFusion. I have had a great experience with learning to use MediTouch. It is very easy to navigate, and I learn something new every day.

Roy, our customer service representative, has been a great resource when I've had questions or trouble figuring something out on my own. We have recommended this software to other health offices. Thank you for the great experience.

We used to use Amazing Charts as our EHR system. The difference between that system and HealthFusion is night and day! The ease of use, simplicity, and speed are amazing. It is very useful to have a web-based system. We used to have to worry about maintaining servers and performing regular back-ups, and other unnecessary chores that are now all taken care of in the cloud. We know that our data is safe and secure, as well as HIPAA compliant.

It's also great to be able to log in any time and anywhere with an Internet connection. Whether you're logging on from a desktop, laptop, iPad, or even your iPhone, it just works.

The implementation process went smoothly, and someone was always available to help us if we had any questions or concerns. HealthFusion offers tutorials and webinars to help you learn how to use MediTouch, although we didn't even find these tools necessary. The software was just that easy to figure out. However, It's good to know that the training materials are there if you need them.

Customer service for this product is what keeps them going, I believe. They always have someone available on the phone, and now they even offer an online chat option if you have a quick question.

We just have one suggestion for improvement. We would like more warning ahead for when updates and changes will be made, and how these will affect the way we currently do things.

The Meditouch EHR system has certainly streamlined dictation and is well accepted in the hospital and surgery settings. Although we are not paperless, we are progressing towards this direction.

As no true EHR exists for a general surgeon, I have been able to tweak this program very easily and adapt this to any surgical practice. I hope this customization can be shared with other surgeons who are considering EHR.

Customer support and service to the customer are top priorities at MediTouch (HealthFusion), and I have never been disappointed by their response. They will work with you to resolve issues and expedite your return to normal function within your practice.

In consideration of any EHR Format, the ease of use is defined by the assistance that it may bring to the clinic setting. The limiting factor seems to be the rate of data delivery. While this may not be a problem in the larger populated cities, rural areas may need to look at a faster upload/download to improve this, which may come at an added expense.

As the owner of Professional Medical Billing Solutions, I provide medical billing services primarily for Family Practice and Internal Medicine practices. I have been using HealthFusion for over 2 years. The practice management software is the most comprehensive billing software I have used to date. You can track a claim from start to finish. My one physician says, "This is like tracking your package with UPS." I love ERA's!

The practices that have made the transition to MediTouch EHR said they would never go back to paper charts! They love the ease of customization and utilizing Grand Central. The nursing staff can't imagine not having e-Prescribing.

Customer support is second to none! Their goal is to resolve your issue, and I am never treated rudely.

I practice wound care and hypobaric medicine. Our practice has been using Meditouch EHR for about 7 months. I have 2 other physicians using it plus a nurse practitioner. We have really enjoyed the flexibility of the program. Particularly we have enjoyed our ability to make changes on the fly and to be able to save and record those changes.

Implementation went really well...we went through a webinar presentation on what to do and how to do it and they demonstrated it to us all. We all brought it up on our own individual devices and worked on it for an hour and then we came back together with a webinar again and answered questions that we had as a result of our practical exercises. Even today if someone has a question, we can get it answered very, very quickly.

It is a full service electronic health record and the advantage of MediTouch is once I walk out of the room, I'm done with patient charting. It is all over. I'm doing it on an iPad, it is right there in front of the patient; the patient doesn't feel like I'm not paying attention to them because I'm sitting there talking to them face to face. I'm just hitting a few drop down menus here and there and I never loose eye contact with that patient.

So it's absolutely dynamite it terms of saving time and documenting a superb medical record interaction. Even during my interaction with patients, I can finish up their prescriptions and send them electronically right there on the spot. The SOAP note feature is phenomenal. Over on the left hand side of the screen, I have got S.O.A.P so I can easily switch from Subjective to Objective to Assessment and Plan very very quickly and easily. Again my patient doesn't even notice that I'm doing all of that.

I am the office manager of a small, single physician, pediatric office. When we were getting ready to open our office in the summer of 2011, we decided to have a demo of the HealthFusion product. It seemed to be a perfect match. We purchased the PM and EHR products and begin training on the system immediately. By the time we saw our first patient in August, we were ready to go. The PM system made those first weeks of opening a new practice easy. Since we have used the product from day one, we did not have the transition to worry about. The ease of use of the product has allowed us to reduce the hours of support staff, saving the practice money. The billing side of the PM is very user friendly and allows the billing dept to quickly process claims and handle rejections and appeals.

Being a pediatric office, we have discovered that we needed some "special" things out of the program. We have contacted customer support and always received wonderful customer service. They take our suggestions and ideas seriously and implement them when they can. A good example was the way the weight was displayed on the encounter. The program would round the weight down to the nearest whole number. As an adult, the extra 14 oz does not have an impact on the meds prescribed. On an infant, 5 pounds is much different than 5 pounds 14oz and does have a huge impact on the course of treatment. When Customer service was contacted about this, they immediately made the change in the software and we were able to see accurate weight the next day.

I am an Internal medicine physician. I chose Healthfusion because of the ease of use and functionality. I still like to see options to do free HPI dictations to cover multiple complaints at one time, and I like to see a separate section for procedure documentation. So far, the experience with MediTouch EHR software has been very positive.

I'm the Office Manager for a solo practitioner who practices Integrative Medicine. We looked for an EHR and Practice Management system that would be easy to use and provide all of the features we needed to become Meaningful Users at an affordable price. The costs were minimal since we didn't have to purchase additional computers or need an IT person to set it up.

We've been using HealthFusion software for a little over a year now. Prior to that we were using paper for charts and scheduling. The Practice Management program is pretty straightforward and can be mastered easily. The EHR side, for our purposes, needed to be customized due to the nature of the practice. The Doctor also uses voice recognition software with it, which works well. After gathering information through the program during the first three months of 2010, we qualified as Meaningful Users and received our money.

As with any EHR systems there are going to be glitches, i.e. 5010, new requirements, etc. The most important point is how the matters get resolved. This company responds to the issues and is helpful to solve the problems that may arise.

I have a solo ear, nose, and throat medical practice in suburban Detroit. I have used MediTouch EHR for a year. I had been using paper charts and hand writing my notes. I must admit that it was quite a change to go to an electronic record format, but the switch to HealthFusion was as easy as it could be. It took a few days for everyone to get use to the new system, but now it is fully operational. Customer support is very helpful, but you do need to put in some effort to make it work; however the work has really paid off. I now e-prescribe and no longer need to hand write any notes. I feel I can now see more patients and document more accurately.

MediTouch EHR is not the worst EHR program I have ever used, but it is far from the best. There are typos and misspelled words throughout the program. It does not search for names or pharmacies with similar spellings. For example if you search for "Walmart" pharmacy, no results will be found. You need to hyphenate the word "Wal-mart" to get any results. The same thing happens when searching for patients. The program does not flow as well as others I have used, however improvements have been made since we first began using it over a year ago.

It often freezes up or slows down to the point where it takes 15 minutes to finish a note. There are not any scripted "typical" procedures i.e. suturing, burn care, etc. Other EHR programs come with these built in to the program to make charting more efficient. Overall, the program is okay. We have gotten used to the quirks and problems over the past year, so it isn't too big of an issue anymore. However, if we had to start over I would not choose it again.

I have an urgent care center and just started, so I needed a system that was easy to implement with great customer support. I used a local server based system prior and the HealthFusion cloud based system is by far more cost effective. It frees up my time, being one less thing to think about and manage. The online training is awesome and it’s allowed flexible training for my staff and me. I would make the same choice if I had to purchase an EHR system again!!

I am an Internal Medicine physician in Rhode Island and have been using an EHR for several years. My previous EHR was unable to provide me with the flexibility, ease-of-use, and Meaningful Use status I needed. After reviewing several EHRs I found HealthFusion's MediTouch EHR to be the best alternative. Trust me, starting essentially from scratch was a big decision. My partner, who did not use the last EHR, states he loves it.

MediTouch has been in full use in my practice since July 2011 and I have already attested to meaningful use. I am about to submit for level III NCQA Medical Home. The nurse care managers find the software very user-friendly. Also, customer service surpasses my last EHR's by miles. While I don't believe any electronic medical record will be as fast as our old fashion pen to paper, I think this it's the closest you can get.

HealthFusion is easy to use and easy to navigate. Your Customer Service link however has begun to become very disappointing. The live chat function has been down for sometime. Either it is not accessible, or the wait time for an agent is way too long. (I am talking 30 minutes or more) I have sent numerous e-mails with questions and have to date never received a response. I am hoping that this will change soon.

I love the E-Prescribing feature! It greatly increases the patient's access to getting their prescriptions filled and I love that it tracks everything. There seems to be very little lag time between screens, which is outstanding when you are dealing with patients or doctors on the phone and switching back and forth between screens. Overall I am very happy with the MediTouch EHR.

Overall the HealthFusion program is easy to use. I love having all of my patient’s information at my fingertips. The lag time of switching over from one section to another is almost non-existent, which allows me to give great service to our patients.

However, the customer service area could use some work. When I was able to ask for online help with the online chat service that was great. Over the past few weeks there never seems to be anyone available or I get left on hold for an excess of 20 minutes and my e-mailed questions never get answered.

I have been in practice for just over 10 years and just started a private practice at the end of 2011. I decided to use MediTouch EMR by HealthFusion. I first noticed that it was Medicare certified and also recommended by my national medical society. It includes e-prescribing, scheduling, billing, charting and a web-based platform, amongst other things. I really liked that it was Mac/iPad and PC compatible. Being web-based makes the IT infrastructure simple and, in my opinion, more stable. PC use fails when using Internet Explorer, but Mozilla Firefox works very well.

The download for Firefox is quick and easy. The e-prescribing with pharmacy search is excellent and easy to use as compared to other e-Rx programs I have used. As is with any EMR, the learning curve is steep and the EMR has to be customized to the practice workflow and doctors practice style. For example, in order to use the scheduler, patient appointment types and blocks of time have to be created. Care plans in the notes can be created and saved so notes are easier to complete for other future office visits. After three months, I am comfortable documenting my notes and entering patient medical history and data. I have not yet fully set up electronic billing but I am planning on it.

The customer support is excellent. The only drawback is that MediTouch support is based in California, and I work in Michigan. I have to wait till noon to make a call usually. Interface with the hospital lab is planned. Document scanning and uploading can be tedious. Retrieving this data from the patient chart is quite cumbersome at times. As is with many EMR's, there is so much functionality possible that it can get overwhelming at times. Currently I use it for some scheduling, office visit and lab documentation, and e-prescribing. Due to the low IT start up costs and great customer support, I feel this was a good fit for me so far.

Using MediTouch EHR has been a pleasant surprise, speaking as a physician who has been in practice almost 30 years and was not in favor of required changes to EHR at all. The system is amazingly easy to understand and utilize especially for such a reasonable price. Making the changes with an affordable and user-friendly product has made this transition much more acceptable. Having patient pharmacy records available as well as histories at a glance does save time from flipping through our paper charts. Staff members have picked up on needed areas of the product more easily than they expected. The information is easy to access and easy to enter. There is much less of a chance of posting to an incorrect patient chart in the cases of similar names, spellings, family members etc. I highly recommend this product to other physicians for quality and economy.

I am podiatrist in San Antonio Texas. I have been in practice for 9 years and I am a part of American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American Academy of Practice Management and Podiatric Physicians and the American Academy and Board of Primary Podiatric Physicians and Orthopedics.

We currently have had the MediTouch EHR since it came into practice and we have used the MediTouch PM since October 2008. Both platforms are excellent. I have found that the billing has been significantly enhanced. I have found that the time in practice that it takes for me to complete my notes is significantly shortened. We chose MediTouch EHR and PM because it was approved for the bonus system. It has been very successful in time management and I was able to receive the stimulus payment.

The ability to use the iPad and the touch system makes it very easy to use, my medical assistants are easily able to write most of the note and I'm able to come in quickly and add my portion and as I walk out the door, not only is the note completed but it is also already sent to billing.
