MediTouch EHR Software


 

HealthFusion offers MediTouch EHR and MediTouch PM, a suite of electronic health records and practice management tools that were designed to be web-based and offer a touchscreen user interface.

The EHR offers charting, problem lists, medication management, electronic prescribing, allergy checks, order management, lab tests and document management, among other capabilities. The system can be configured to meet a provider’s charting preferences; custom forms can be implemented to work with MediTouch’s touchscreen technology. 

The EHR can be deployed standalone or in conjunction with HealthFusion’s practice management system, which automatically checks patients’ insurance eligibility 72 hours before appointments, and will store payer contracts within the system so that billers can verify terms and requirements. An online ERA service allows users to automatically post and download EOBs.

Because the system is web-based and hosted by HealthFusion, customers do not need to install or maintain any software on-premise. The system can be accessed through a web browser, and is designed to work natively on iPads and iPad Minis.

MediTouch is priced on a pay-per-provider, monthly subscription. The subscription fees include domestic customer support and training services.

Went from using a system for 10 yrs, server based to a web-based system. I love the features. Easy to navigate and customizable. Portal integrated, shares info with other EHR's and compatible with my billing software.

If you are struggling with your EHR, don't hesitate to go with MediTouch. It does all the things the more expensive one do like "Office Practicum" or "Athena Health" just to name a few!

This software has become such a breath of fresh air. It has made everything so much more organized and easier to access. I can not imagine ever having to deal with another chart. Not after experiencing the power of electronic medical records. It has the flexibility to meet our exact needs.

Pros

It so easy to use, you can access it from anywhere, even on your smartphone. Best of all you can customize it to fit your particular needs.

Cons

I love everything about this software.

Advice to Others

For those of you who are not that computer savvy, do not worry they offer great support and will walk you through it step by step. I promise you will be a pro in no time.

This Software is the first one that I have ever used.Overall is Good. Appointment scheduling and Scheduling recurring appointments are easy. The Messaging keeps everyone on the same page. It's very user-friendly. The staff will find it easy to learn.

Not what we were hoping for

We have about eight months into this software and are still struggling with very basic issues such as claims not making it to the carrier and reports not functioning to our (or our clients') level of expectation. I cannot report on many fields in the system and despite being told in the beginning that their reporting tool was being enhanced and we could report on individual fields, and spend additional money to export data so we could create our own reports.
Clients are increasingly frustrated with inability to get eligibility checks on many of their common carriers and to get anything much beyond just confirmation of coverage (not outline of actual benefits, etc.) Collections module is clunky and we have not found it to be effective.
On the upside, claims entry is fairly simple, and auto posting is a breeze, as is data entry of patient information.

Pros

Autoposting is fantastic. We find it does it correctly close to 100% of the time. When the system cannot effectively autopost, it "flags" the RA so that you can address it individually. When we initially converted, we found that importing patient demographics was refreshingly simple and something we could do on our own without additional costs.
Patient demographics are easy to enter and maintain.

Cons

Reporting is completely ineffective. Canned reports don't balance against each other, and it's hard to quantify values. Not much assistance from Customer Service, although they do try to be helpful.
EDI process has been nothing short of challenging. From enrollment issues in the beginning to claims submission and follow-up issues, we are finding as we work AR several months later we're still having issues with some of our claims from early on which can't seem to arrive at the payer, despite acceptance confirmation from Healthfusion/ENS. It's costing us hours of time on the phone and lost productivity. We also cannot actually see the acceptance reports and are told we can't have access to those because they're in larger batches, which again creates additional phone calls and work on our part.

Advice to Others

Regardless of feeling like we did fairly responsible research on our part, we ran into a number of issues for which we were not prepared. Put potential vendors through challenging scenarios you have in your current system and have them explain how they would resolve them. Even then, watch carefully once you change to make sure you're getting what you were promised. If you're able, roll over one client at a time (if you have multiple) so you can ensure everything works as promised and works productively before you move your entire book of business.

Great system, easy to use, great billing software. Would definitely recommend this product to others. It's very compatible with Ipad, or other mobile devices.

Pros

Very user-friendly and can easily navigate around the site with no problems. Can create own templates for Superbills, etc.

Cons

Wish the billing system was a little more friendly in regards to resubmitting bills. It creates a new claim for one small change.

Meditouch by HealthFusion is a cloud-based fully integrated EMR/EHR system that is very user-friendly and easy to use. The transition from a previous EMR was painless and speedy. Both myself and my staff find it a pleasure to use. The system is great for both a small practice (like mine, where I do ALL of the billing, etc) as well as for a larger practice. It also has podiatry specific programming and exams. The support and customer service is terrific, the company is very service-oriented and I have had only very positive experiences with everyone I have dealt with at HealhtFusion

I would have a hard time to find an appropriate medical diagnose for common musculeoskeletal issue. It's little trouble to schedule a patient and use EHR at the same time because it will change different interface.

Pros

The layout is clear.

Cons

Some of the guidance questions do have many choices. Usually typing up the description is better. Also, the pain scale on each body part is different rating. I'll hope there is an universal rating scale like the level of pain on the scale of 10 etc.

I like the scheduling. I believe it can be improved in the tracking and patient retention department. The billing aspect is good. It definitely has too many buttons. It should be easy to build templates, but its not.

My boss was looking for a new system to help with our billing for several different specialties and we had a software presentation for Meditouch which he loved and is still in talks of having this system for our company. However he was in an auto accident so that slowed the process up. Although everyone we have talked to has been really helpful and able to answer any questions that we have.

Pros

I likes the fact that its easy to put information into the program and that the clearinghouse is all in once.

Cons

I don't like that it was mainly compatible with apple more than android since a lot of our doctors are not familiar with apple products.

Advice to Others

Make sure that it is something your office can use and understand easily many times older people will need more time to get use to the system

I have been a user of the Meditouch EHR system for over four years now. Although I have seen improvements happen slowly throughout the years, I still wish the EHR and Scheduling side worked better together. I also with you was able to see all the former encounters the patient has had, when scheduling a new appointment. This would allow for a more seamless workflow as well as cut down on the amount of errors that are made as to what the patient is coming in for. The scanning has improved tremendously, so that is a huge plus. Overall I am very comfortable using it because I have been a user for years now. I am hoping more improvements come over the next few months implementing suggestions our office has.

Pros

Scanning is great.

Cons

Scheduling doesn't allow us to view all the doctor's locations on one screen - each location comes up in a different column. It's confusing and tricky to view. EHR side and scheduling side work separately. Unable to view past encounters when making appointments, which would be very helpful to keep accuracy.

I had the pleasure of trying out MediTouch through a recent internship through a local doctor's office. They have had this system in use for about 2 years and I my experience the software is a good start. It has some great features and is not too confusing to use; however, it doesn't run smoothly and at times I found it lagging when trying to access records or to process/print certain reports. It is also a bit slow in responding to a request to pull out of one area to log into another. With any billing/coding being done the ERA service tends take a bit of time to load the EOB's and there overall is just a lot of little issues. I am hoping that in the near future MediTouch does some adjustments so clear those issues up. As I said, it is an overall great setup, just lacking in overall performance.

Pros

Ease of use, simple to learn.

Cons

Overall performance of the program and it's add on's are lacking.

Advice to Others

I would wait to purchase. Once MediTouch revamps the services/performance, then I would suggest giving this a go.
