MediTouch EHR® is a complete electronic health record (EHR) that was designed to be both web-based and offer a touchscreen user interface. As a result, the product is highly differentiated and easy-to-use. The core EHR offers functionality for charting, problem lists, medication management, electronic prescribing, allergy checks, order management, lab tests and document management, among other capabilities. The system can also be configured to meet a provider’s personal charting preferences and custom forms can be implemented to work with MediTouch’s touchscreen technology. MediTouch EHR can be deployed standalone or in conjunction with HealthFusion’s practice management system. The complete system is certified by an ONC-ATCB to meet the meaningful use criteria for ARRA stimulus funds.

When HealthFusion set about designing its own EHR, the company decided to focus on designing a system that was revolutionary in its simplicity. Because the system is entirely web-based and hosted by HealthFusion, customers do not need to install or maintain any software on-premise. Users simply log in and access the system through a web browser on any Windows or Apple computer. Because it is so intuitive, many users are able to get up and going with minimal training. Although I wouldn't recommend minimal training, it is possible.

This software has won many awards and is among the very few that are Stage 2 certified. In addition, this product will have your practice ICD-10 ready.

This platform is SOAP note driven and utilizes "touch-phrase" technology. While you can type and/or dictate (and even take photos which can also be annotated), you will rarely need to. Upon implementation, the platform is customized to your workflow and not you to the platform. This is significant as it will actually speed up your throughput by allowing you to tap on the screen more rapidly than you could ever type or dictate a note. It really is quite remarkable.

I've been customizing electronic health records for nearly 10 years, and I can honestly say that the MediTouch EHR is the most user-friendly software I've used. The touchphrases make it so easy to comply with all charting and coding requirements. All of the doctors that I work with easily complied with Meaningful Use and received their bonuses.

There isn't much that I don't like. But if I had to come up with something, I would say that occasionally it's a problem when the system is very slow. I also wish that Customer Service opened at 8 am Eastern time. Occasionally, one of the offices will encounter a problem first thing in the morning, and I won't have the resources to assist them if it's something I need help with.

Recommendations

I would recommend comparing this software to others available on the market for accessibility, ease of use, and affordability. The accompanying HealthFusion practice management systems works seamlessly with the EHR which promotes a healthy work flow and improved cycle revenues.

Amazingly Easy and Robust System

This system is very intuitive and very easy to navigate. Common sense is all you need to successfully chart in the system.

We have met all requirements of Stage 2 MU, and we have a 5.0 HETIS and HMO rating since we switched from iSalus Office EMR to MediTouch.

Do your homework! There are a lot of EHR vendors out there that are closing their doors or that lie to their clients and promise the world but deliver nothing. I can honestly say that MediTouch has not done that to us or my clients.

HealthFusion Brings Comfort to Many Medical Practices

This product is incredibly easy to use, as it is straightforward and even includes a training website to refer back to in case you are stumped on a specific issue.

This product has met a numerous amount of providers' practice needs, as they can't say enough great things about this electronic medical record system.

The quality of this product is excellent, especially as they are already Meaningful Use 2014 compliant. Not every electronic medical record system is as compliant as HealthFusion is with various federal regulations.

The customer support is extremely friendly and always easy to understand. They are always willing to walk you through any issue you may experience with the system.

As a HealthFusion trainer, I have had a numerous amount of positive feedback from various providers from different specialties. They really like the customizable templates that this EHR offers, which saves them time with documentation of their electronic encounters. With this system being Meaningful Use Compliant 2014, it eases the mind of the providers and clinical staff of being compliant with all federal regulations that have been implemented over the past few years. The system really prepares you and allows you to become more familiar with the ICD-10 codes that will be in effect come October of this year. Another great feature about this system is that it is extremely user friendly, as I have had providers who have never used an electronic medical record system before in their life and are up and running on HealthFusion without any difficulty. I can't say enough great things about this system.

I am a plastic surgeon and have been more than disappointed with the various menus for SOAP notes. They don't allow any kind of efficient record keeping. Perhaps some day, they will fill this gaping hole of usefulness for certain specialties. Their library of images is unacceptably deficient in its limited scope and poorly rendered figures.

I opened a single Physician private practice in Podiatry one year ago. I was comfortable using big EMR’s and was concerned about what I was going to use that would be affordable, and effective. MediTouch has made it easier to find patient charts in an instant. I can access patients from home, or when out of town, and still prescribe medication without dialing a phone. I can access lab results for patients on weekends. I can search insurance info and appointment history in a flash. MediTouch makes my previously multi-step actions quicker to complete. Despite working since almost the mid 1990s, I was one of those paper and pen holdouts until this last month, when we started using MediTouch. We decided on this software after reviewing several other EMR's. Some were not well suited for my particular needs; others had very mixed reviews, which prompted me to worry about their product support and the speed with which we would see solutions to possible future billing problems. Yet other packages were so expensive, that I just could not afford to use them. To add to the formula, I also desired to use iPads due to their extended battery life and relatively cheap price.

MediTouch seemed to strike a balance between what I want and what I can afford, and we've been very satisfied so far throughout the implementation process. Their customer support and training people are very good at what they do. MediTouch is very complex, but surprisingly simple at the point of care. I have the patients fill out the developmental screening Q's in the waiting room using one of the iPads, that way, the ROS and the PE are a quick few taps away from completion when they walk in to see me. The Preventative and Anticipatory Guidance recommendations are a few taps more. There is very little loss of eye contact during the visit, something I wanted to avoid with using an EHR. I wanted to have minimal interference in what was going on between me and my patient. MediTouch can deliver this.

I am writing this to tell you how happy I am that I chose HealthFusion MediTouch software for my Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. I had practiced for the last six years exclusively with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations. Unfortunately, my contract was not renewed because of State budget issues and I was forced to start back into private practice. I am now in my thirty second year of practice. I desired to go without staff in the final years of my private practice. The HealthFusion software has allowed me to keep a lean and efficient podiatry practice while concentrating on patient care.

The HealthFusion software does take a while to learn, as do any of the other systems on the market. After I learned how to operate the EHR software system, I am now able to document patient visits more thoroughly than in the past. As a result, the documentation supports better reimbursement. The system actually forces you to be more thorough in documenting and recording your findings. As my familiarity with the databases increases within the system, the ease of completing charts in a timely fashion has improved dramatically.

The Practice Management (PM) side is a tremendous tool for increasing cash flow. Not only are most all insurances billed electronically but are billed within hours of seeing patients. My turn around for Medicare is now between 18 and 21 days. I no longer have to take or fax my patient encounter bills to a billing company, and wait for them to bill it out. I do my own coding and bill twice daily. I do have a billing agency (Valley Medical Billing Service) whose job is to post payments and send bills to patients. However all of my interaction with this company is via the Internet or phone. I email all of my EOBS to the company and they post the payments. It is an asset to bill through the cloud. In the PM side, there are many tools for increasing the ease at documenting procedures, supplies and services rendered.

Once again, I highly recommend the MediTouch software system to medical providers, especially to those who want low overhead and a speedy reimbursement from Medicare and secondary insurances.

Our billing company uses four practice management systems and two EMR systems. We've been using HealthFusion for two of our current clients since March 2013, and I'm delighted with both the billing and EMR applications. The implementation team is top-notch, as is the customer support. The two applications work seamlessly together, which has made our billing tasks simple and efficient. It's easy to learn new tasks on the billing side because it's such a logical system. I adopted HeathFusion as I started a private practice in May 2012. I was attracted to it because of iPad compatibility and the ability to pull up medication lists. I had formerly used another EHR in my previous practice which I found to be abysmal. I have been amazed how easy the transition has been. Even my patients had noticed how I used to swear at the computer, and now I just smile when I use it. I do not use support nearly as often after the first few weeks, but I always find them helpful. I particularly like the integrated billing features. I amaze other MDs when I explain how the patient's insurance can be charged before they reach the car in the parking lot and how payments will occasionally magically appear 48 hours later. That doesn't always happen of course but when it does I am amazed. I am still looking forward to expanding our use of features such as linking with outpatient labs and opening up to patient inquires but HealthFusion appears fully adaptable to that. There is no reason to look anywhere else, especially for old geezers like me who enjoy the practicality of iPad use.

I've used many EHRs over the last decade, and MediTouch was the easiest to get started with quickly, without the need for lots of time consuming training. The ability to customize and use more advanced functionality is there, and does require some training - but this can often be done at your own convenience. Their customer service personnel are very friendly and responsive, and are willing to find the answer if they don't know it. Finally, they continue to add new features and upgrades and seem to be open to incorporating good ideas from their user base.
