I was looking with my colleague for and EMR three years ago and wanted a system that was web-based to allow access from any location and avoid the issues of in office server maintenance. We found at that time Prognocis to be the best system for us.

Since we are a psychiatric practice and there were no specific modules for our specialty in Prognocis, they created the specific templates for us and we use them today. As an added benefit, we have been utilizing the patient portal to help facilitate the collection and documentation of new patient information and follow ups.

Our experience with the Prognocis program has been easy to learn and in general the updates have continued to improve its quality. Its greatest assets continue to be its ease of use, ease of individualizing templates for specific clinical practice needs, and continuous updates to improve and expand its usefulness.

You cannot ask for a better experience with technical support. The issue is not if one needs technical support, but how is it handled. Since technical support is an essential element in any EMR use, the quality of service is a component for long term use. The response has been fast, problems solved in a short time and on rare occasions when it was more complex, sent to the development team for timely resolution. In addition, the availability of training for new and existing staff is very beneficial.

I am not suggesting its a perfect system. If you will use it there will be components that may frustrate you, and you will experience technical glitches, but you always feel there are highly qualified professionals available to provide support, encouragement and solve the problem. I feel I am part of an ever evolving and improving system.

In early 2010, we opened our practice with an EMR/PM system that we believed would work for well dermatology. After several months effort, we found that the system didn't work as advertised. We researched about a dozen new systems, and selected BizMatic's ProcnoCIS system because it was found to be intuitive, feature rich, and provided an interface that made it possible to migrate patient data into PrognoCIS.

In addition to that, the PrognoCIS project manager assigned to help us get started made adoption a pleasure. We began using the system in August of 2010 and haven't looked back. We were one of the first practices in Central Florida to receive our CMS Meaningful Use incentive in 2011.

The functionality of PrognoCIS far exceeds the capabilities of any other EMR. The customer service is superior with PrognoCIS. If my client has a problem, the staff of PrognoCIS is quick to call our client to get the problem resolved.

During our implementation, we were assigned our own personal implementation specialist named Om Thakur. He has been with us every step of the way. And he continues to answer questions even after the initial implementation was finished. He is patient and is quick to do a Go To Meeting with us to show us how to accomplish a task.

I am very pleased with the support that we have received. I would recommed PrognoCIS to anyone looking for new software.

We have been using PrognoCIS since our center opened on March 1, 2011. The contracting process was very easy, implementation went smoothly, and our ongoing IT support has been incredible. IT needs specific to our center have been addressed in a timely manner and with good outcomes. It's always nice when a friendly voice answers the phone to assist with any questions we have.

PrognoCIS was extremely prepared for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, which made obtaining our incentive payment much easier than expected. We are very glad we chose to use both the EMR and Billing Module of this system. It only takes moments to file insurance claims electronically. The available billing reports are great for keeping on top of aging claims. The best feature of ProgoCIS is that we can access the system from our laptops anywhere in the world. The convenience of being able to send a secure fax/email or even order a prescription from home or on the road is great.

We are a busy Podiatry Practice and we went live with Prognocis EMR in February 2013. Our previous EMR left us suffering financially due to the ineffectiveness of their system and lack of support. In just a short amount of time I can honestly say that Prognocis has already made a difference in our practice. Prognocis EMR is very user friendly and the support staff is absolutely great. Originally I thought this would be a good system but have found it cumbersome and not easy to use. Purchased it to use on a cloud format and have problems with printing notes, referrals, and prescriptions - and wind up getting blank pages.

Also when trying to copy information from prior notes, I will get active x problem even though Internet settings are allowing active x. Have to log out and log back in again. I have tried customer support and their response time has been delayed.

Underwent a CMS audit for meaningful use, and they could not help us. They finally got back to us, after the deadline.

It's currently not offered as an intergerated system with practice management, which makes things difficult because sometimes charges come across correctly and other times it does not. I have had a lot of duplicate billing. Also, it will incorporate codes from prior visits that were not used on current visit, so my billers have to delete codes.

As far as flow, there are problems with it. The point and click system is slow and time consuming even though we use a cloud.

I have not benefitted from the system and even though i have met meaningful use I am switching EHR.

I have been using it for more than a year now. It's easy to use very friendly. We have it on the cloud and it's just when the weather interferes do we have minor issues. Sending prescriptions and refills is quite easy.

Best product available on the market, as it can be customized to your special needs.

We receive almost a 100 patients weekly, from Monday thru Friday and only from 8:00 to 4:00.

So it's a great product.

My name is Dr. Roberto E. Puente, DPM, I own and operate a small solo, but very busy, long-term care podiatry practice that has been using PrognoCIS since July 2011. All patient encounters take place at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, so when we decided to go paperless and started to shop around for an EMR system, it became very clear to us that a cloud or web-based system was the way to go. After reviewing many systems, and taking many demos, we decided to go with PrognoCIS because it seemed like a very user-friendly system, with adequate and knowledgeable support staff, and very affordable when compared with other systems in the market at that time. After over two years of using the system, let me tell you that it has been the single best decision that my practice has made! It has proven to be everything that we expected from an EMR and more!! Other colleagues opted for specialty-specific, much more expensive systems, only to find themselves abandoned after the company closed or sold, and were left without reliable tech support.

The training/implementation period went very well. We were very fortunate to get such a knowledgeable implementer that was very patient with my skeptical nature, and made sure we where all ready to use the system in all its capabilities before we went live. The system is very easy to customize to any practice scenario, we are able to fully document even complex patient encounters in a matter of minutes. The progress notes produced are clear, professional, and we constantly get compliments on our accurate and timely documentation from other medical professionals and nursing staff.

The electronic prescription module is extremely easy to use. The EMR/Billing interface has proven to be seamless and extremely accurate. We were able to do without our billing service and process all claims in-house after a few months. Communication with the clearinghouse has been flawless in all aspects. We actually just achieved the Gold Standard of Revenue Cycle for Medical Practices award from our clearinghouse (Gateway EDI), which means that 99% of claims submitted are error free!

The system has very nice tools that allow you to achieve meaningful use with ease and confidence. PrognoCIS has allowed my practice to grow, while allowing me more time to actually do what I like; treat patients instead of getting slowed down with repetitive documenting, billing and administrative chores.

I wish I could tell you more about my experiences with their tech support, but to tell you the truth, I haven't had to call them in over a year. I am very glad to see that Bizmatics has continuously grown over the last couple of years and are now consider a top EMR vendor/manufacturer. I don't want to make it seem like it was all peaches and cream, implementing and training for a new EMR is a stressful task for any practice, regardless of size and specialty. That is why is so important to make sure you have a strong, knowledgeable support team behind you. We did have our minor difficulties at the beginning, particularly with the fax application and some issues with the automated uploading of ERA's from the clearinghouse. Both these issues have been fixed long ago, and we have been able to fax in and out of the EMR without any issues for over a year. The same thing with the ERA uploading, it has worked flawlessly for almost two years. I am so glad that we chose PrognoCIS and also very thankful to Bizmatics for such a great product.

They do try to help make the program work for you, but such goal is unattainable because of how the program is constructed.

The vendor is great. The program, alas, needs to be gutted and rebuilt by programmers who can develop state-of-the-art architecture. This is an absolute need, because even when one becomes expert at navigating PrognoCIS, it still takes way too much time, thus distracting from doctor/patient time.

Recommendations

Tear the whole thing apart and start over.

I like the variety of layouts available depending on the type of user.

On the picklist option under past medical history of "add ailment or code", there should only be "code" options, since CMS requires that each diagnosis be linked to an ICD-9 or in the future an ICD-10 code.

Recommendations

Look very closely at CMS requriements. Depending on your patient load, the fact that Prognocis does not automatically load a new diagnosis into past medical history may take up time or slow down your office staff keeping track of this.
