Future Health Software

SmartCloud and SmartServer were created by a health care professional with the goal of improving patient care through dependable and innovative technology and high-quality documentation practices. Future Health Software designed SmartCloud and SmartServer to improve the way Chiropractic practices manage patient records, create patient notes, schedule appointments, and more.

The system is available as both a cloud-based and on-premise solution, to provide the maximum level of flexibility when it comes to implementation. SmartCloud and SmartServer can each be used as a tablet-based solution, so that chiropractors can actively take notes while in the office with a patient. This detailed note-taking maximizes the accuracy of patient records, and can ultimately be the key to improving patient care. In addition, a multitude of iPad-native applications provide a host of additional features, including web-based patient history and outcome assessments.

Chiropractic SOAP notes and exams are completely customizable, and can encompass multiple disciplines within the chiropractic specialty. This way, a single system can support multiple doctors, providing powerful tools for each member of a chiropractic practice. The Practice Management module improves patient tracking, and can effectively track the schedules of multiple doctors within a single practice. Appointment reminders can be texted to the patient, and individual appointments can be scheduled for specific dates, times, rooms, and even locations.

Future Health Software was recently voted by Black Book Rankings as the #1 vendor for Chiropractic EHR. We recommend these systems to Chiropractic practices of all sizes and specialties seeking a comprehensive EHR, practice management, and medical billing solution.

All-in-one chiropractic software that is worth the money. It is relatively easy to use and creating claims is very easy.

No customizable buttons, and no physical therapy module to document exercises and times

ACOM and Eclipse are some other options worth checking out if you are looking for an all-in-one system.

User friendly and easy to customize to your practice. I love the cloud based storage. I feel that they have good constumer support and feel that they are large enough to invest in the future and keeping the software updated.

The scheduler could be a little better. They recently made some changes to make it easier to have multiple providers. Being a single provider it made it a bit more diffficult for me.

Recommendations

I have had the experience of usuing another software system for 5 years prior to swithching to SmartCloud. I feel that my notes are more compliant and much more detailed than before. You have to like the fact that the company is working daily to keep you compliant and up to date with ever changing documentation regulations.

I already have recommended it to several colleagues. Only one did not have it already. It is simple it has all the bells and whistles that simplistically design a completed professional report with graphics.
Our rep was clearly a master of the program and the workings of it. Additionally he readily changed his schedule and was right there during a crunch time for us to get us up and running and being able to allow us to get a promotional discount. In a moment of frustration ironically a couple of office members reached out to him. Despite his travels he made sure he responded promptly stating he would provide the answers upon his arrival and he delivered.

Likes Least

The training being remote and having to go through the complete training. It has delayed us getting started.
Ideally having someone in for a half or whole day after a bit of independent study and saying here this is everything 1,2,3. Any decent practitioner can go back with staff and review videos. That has been tiring, tedious and frustrating.
As well having last year converted from PC to MAC and now having to go back was a waste of money for the computer expense. As well as the usual glitches have been occurring with PC. It almost had this office decline the product.

Recommendations

It has everything simplistically outlined that denotes a professional report, verbiage, graphics and thoroughly documented content and ability to customize easily. The ease is contrary to our last system and we are grateful.

Company merged with Chirotouch and we were told we would have to pay more money to get upgrade to Chirotouch. We received inadequate tech support and were never able to implement Smart Cloud. No refunds for items that never worked.

Recommendations

Don't use Smart Cloud. It would be throwing away money. You will have to switch to another company like we did.

It's easy once you get to know it, you need to put a lot of work into it by creating macros and inventory, but after the work is done its very easy!

Likes Least

It's hard to get to patients phone number, some information is not accessible and you need to go to different tabs.

Recommendations

Consider the amount of work and time you want to put into the new software and if you want to start using it right away or you have time to do the merge between your old system and the new one.

When they demo this software everything is already built in, the CPT codes, the exams, the macros. They make it look so easy to use, and it has that potential, but it's a lot of work setting things up.

Likes Least

It's very hard to set up and learn the system. I'm a visual learner and it was difficult for me to learn how to set it up by ready and changing back between screens. Billing reports are very limited.

Recommendations

Ask them about setting up, customer service, and billing reports.

I think Future Health is extremely user-friendly. It's visually pleasing to the eye, which counts for a lot when you have to spend most of your time looking at the system to do notes, scheduling, or billing. I like the way the SOAP notes are detail-oriented and visually set up when printed. They definitely help with collections from PI and WC cases. I have multiple MDs, nurses, and PAs that I regularly correspond with, and most of them have commented on the ease of reading and the detail in my notes, reports, etc.

Likes Least

The scheduling side of Future Health could have a few more bells and whistles. There isn't a great way to print off patient appointments for that day.

Recommendations

If you really want an all-inclusive EHR system, Future Health is where it's at. Remember you will be looking at this system all day, make sure it's something that's easy on the eyes and easy to navigate. I've used other competitors' systems in the past, and this one is by far the easiest to find things on and the easiest to use.

Future Health Smart Cloud EHR software has helped my office become practically paperless, more streamlined, and has produced excellent quality progress notes as well as successfully attest for meaningful use and the EHR incentive monies. Also, when my office flooded this summer and I was displaced, I was able to be up and seeing patients the very next day in a different location without a hitch. All I needed was my laptop and an internet connection. The cloud-based feature saved my business from going through a lot of hassle when the stress levels were incredibly high.

I have no complaints about the vendor. My complaints about the software have been rather trivial and involve issues that the customer service team readily addresses.

Recommendations

Spend some time with the demo and make sure you get a tour through all of the features of the software and understand how it works.

I like that it's web-based, and it functions very well for EHR, ledger, and billing. Any questions we have are quickly responded to; they have very good tech support. Their Meaningful Use webinars have been top-notch; I hope it continues!

There are small things that could be improved; for example, on the appointment scheduler, I would like to see just our office hours and not 12am-12am time slots for every day. There are a few other small things, but Future Health indicates improvements are on the way.

Recommendations

Demo at least four programs. Be sure to know the hardware required for any software you are thinking about. For example, does it work on iPad or Android devices? What windows version is needed? Ask those pertinent questions.

The patient care plan is very useful. Overall, the software and billing work well.

The pain diagram and drop down menus for the subjective section are far too cumbersome to use. Queries to technical support usually result in very little action and emails with answers that often don't help.

Recommendations

Carefully consider what style of notes that you like to take, and see if the software matches. Do your research on how reputable and stable the company is before you purchase.

There's nothing I dislike about the vendor. I scratch my head wondering how come there are no business statistic querying capabilities. The product is developed by an experienced DC and owner/operator of chiropractic practices, but there is no way to get basic information out of the product to drill down stats to set goals etc. to run a business. It's definitely the biggest weakness.

I have recently participated in the 2013 Future Health Meaningful Use Boot Camp. I found the experience to be extraordinary. The format literally walked me through the Meaningful Use process step-by-step. Every concern was addressed proactively, and there was availability for real-time questions to the presenter.

I think they have a great product and incredible training to help me navigate the software and Meaningful Use.

Recommendations

I recommend looking for a program that will help you attest for the Meaningful Use government incentive. I know a lot of software programs are government certified, but none can come close to the extensive Meaningful Use training Future Health has. The trainer was masterful in his concise and comprehensive explanation of each and every criteria that must be met. I no longer felt unsure about meeting the criteria; I knew exactly what I had to do and the best way to do it.

I really like the cloud-based data storage, the customer support, and training (which lived up to my expectation). I like the expandability and cost. My favorite feature is the EHR storage and the ability to scan documents into the system.

Recommendations

Look for a software program that can make you truly paperless. We no longer store patient documents in files on shelves, and we no longer use files to follow the patients around the office during their visits to document that visit. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and the support I have received. I have even been able to assist a neighboring chiropractor with recommending the program and the ways we have set it up for use in our clinic.

We've had Future Health for a several years now and couldn't be happier. The software really fits into our daily routines. All of our protocols are customized right into the software, and we deliver highly-detailed notes in less than a minute on 90% of our visits.

Likes Least

I really have nothing negative to say about the software or the company.

Recommendations

We did our homework when looking for software, and Future Health really stood out from the rest. When looking for software, I would recommend others ask every vendor what the installation process is like and ask to see what kind of notes the software creates. Future Health's installation team made getting started a breeze and their notes are by far the best in the chiropractic profession.
