Canary AMS by TechCanary is a cloud-based Agency Management System that delivers solutions for insurance agencies and agents. Insurance policy workflows help users improve the internal process of sending tasks, emails and reports. The solution is built on a Salesforce platform and helps users automate quotes, carrier submissions, policy sales and renewals. Users can set-up automatic alerts, task reminders, emails and call logs.

The reporting tools provide agents visibility over retention, lead conversion and loss ratio. The solution provides data mining tools so that agents can dig into their records and find out what is working. Users can also customize reports, layouts, fields and dashboards.

Canary AMS supports all lines of business including property and casualty insurance, life insurance, health insurance and group benefits. It comes with built-in integrations to Google Apps and Outlook, as well as social media sites Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Horrible service, transfer, and promises

I purchased this system because I was promised that it would work for what we needed it for. Integrations, downloads, automation, and more. Nothing has been done.

Pros

Not much I like besides it is a Salesforce base. Problem is you have to pay more for the salesforce aspect. Again not told up front. Was promised I could use the Sales portion with in salesforce.

Cons

Everything else, We are 10 months in and still have to have our old system up and running for daily transactions. Accords don't work correctly, We just received the ability to look at our notes from over a year ago. Our Rater still isn't integrated which was promised. Any customization cost substantially more. Entering the same info in multiple places for reports to work correctly. I email them and it takes days to respond with an answer and even with that the answer is we are working on it. Ton of money wasted and already looking to move again.

Two years of none service

Pros

I wish I had one. The data transfer never took place. The CEO at the time didn’t want it. We never received a refund.

Cons

Nothing. Our company never got started with the data transfer. We got rushed into buying a contract, then left hanging.

User friendly interface and feature rich, which make it ideal for managing my agency.

Pros

There are a lot of features built in, and it is very customizable to my specific agency needs. Customer service is extraordinary, with a rapid response and resolution. Create Acords with ease. Friendly to benefits as well as P&C.

Cons

There are a couple of things I have on my "ideal" list that the developers are not yet able to integrate. Entering coverage information for policies is a bit cumbersome.

Lackluster. Disappointing and wouldn't recommend.

great forum to learn about other solutions and and open area to post our firms views for others. Thank you.

Pros

The ability to customize the system on an open Salesforce platform sounded amazing. Analytic potential is unlimited which is phenomenal. The promise of less data entry to capitalize on more employee time for cross selling and consultation was very attractive.

Cons

Oh, where to start? We've been in contract for over a year for migration. They finally migrated data last month but only partial data. Acord forms are lacking in ALL areas. 90% of the info does not populate. Only Acord 25"s allow for signature so all other documents have to be printed, signed & scanned like it's the year 1999. Auto ID Cards only allow the first auto to fill, not a solution for multi-vehicle & fleet policies. EOPI's only allow for 1 holder to populate. COI's only print or save pdf's one at a time. Not feasible for issuing multiple renewal COI's,. Their tech staff's solution is to "type over the information". WHAT? We haven't had downloads in over 45 days. Guess we just hope our direct bill accounts are in good standing & carriers are paying commissions correctly. They recommended a year ago to contract with Accounting Seed, Conga, Docusign and a few others. That was a waste of thousands of $"s as TechCanary has to be operational in order for the other systems to work. They have no implementation team. Tech Support and webinars are your training. Tech Support tries their best to train but there's no training schedule and the sessions are squeezed in between normal trouble shooting calls and their internal staffing issues. Basically if a Tech Support person is out sick or on vacation no other staff steps in to pick up the training. Running out of room to type more. We're looking for a new provider. This is not software as a solution...

There's nothing else like it

Pros

TechCanary has completely changed the agency management system landscape. Finally there's a cost-effective customizable solution that works for any size commercial and/or personal lines agency.

Cons

I've been using TechCanary for over a year and trust me, there's nothing not to like. Unlike an out-of-the-box system, if you don't like something - change it!

Great Agency Management System

CanaryAMS is really helping my small agency like no other agency management system. The things that would be difficult to do with other AMS, CanaryAMS does them with ease. I highly recommend them.. Their staff is top notch too. I truly enjoy working with them.

No More Guesswork

Pros

The customization can be as little or as great as you want. I'm able to make workflows for lines of coverage so that my staff doesn't have to guess what to do next. No more having it all up in your head or looking at a manual. This increases efficiency and reduces E&O.

The Tech support is OUTSTANDING. Very timely. They work incredibly hard to keep you working as efficiently as possible.

Cons

You do need to know Salesforce but the learning curve is very small. There are some requirements to manage workflow that is dictated by Salesforce (i.e. can't map between objects, can only be done through parent).

Pros

Best Agency Management System out there!

What you get for the cost is amazing! Salesforce license AND an agency management system for $100 a month, you can't beat it! Also, the capability and customization with Reid and his team is second to none.
