The ability to use Workforce Analytics in conjunction with a company's existing business intelligence applications only enhances users' visibility into the organization's workforce.
- Kronos announced two acquisitions in early 2012, starting with SaaShr--a leader in small and midsize business workforce management--in March 2012, followed by the acquisition of UK-based SMART Computer Holdings in April 2012. These moves will make its solutions more accessible to organizations based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
- To further broaden the company's reach, in November 2011 the company announced a cross-selling relationship with Saba to offer a more comprehensive workforce life-cycle solution for businesses within the retail, life sciences and manufacturing industries. By combining Saba's recruiting and talent management applications with Workforce Management and Kronos scheduling and time tracking modules, organizations can enhance employee onboarding, training and compliance.
2 Reviews of Kronos Workforce Central
We have been using Kronos Workforce Central for seven years after leaving legacy software. We implemented version 5 in a very quick five months, corresponding to a big bang ERP install. We have since upgraded to version 6. Kronos worked with us on both the install and the upgrade. We have high regards for the software and their implementation services, particularly in the area of writing pay rules. We have complete history of our employees' attendance since the beginning of our install period, something we did not have previously without maintaining separate spreadsheets and attendance forms.
We use Kronos clocks and find the functionality simple to use, along with controlling where employees clock.
In 2001 we purchased our first Kronos product which was the TKC 3A time clock system. It was to upgrade our clock system and only used to capture worked time to be exported to our HR/Payroll system. At this time payroll handled any employee issues in regard to their worked time. In 2005 we upgraded to WFC 5.0 with Bio-metric clocks. We also moved the time keeping responsibilities to the departments. Payroll trained them how to use the system and retained a support role.
About the same time our HR/Payroll vendor decided to move the accruals out of the payroll software and create a new product (additional cost) called Absence Management. We decided we should check out our options and looked at the Kronos Absence Management products. It made more sense to have the accruals, attendance and leave in the same system that already held the schedules and actual clock times. We purchased Kronos Absence Management in 2006. These products created accuracy and consistency in how attendance rules were applied across the company.
Now we had the employees taken care of and started to look for products that could increase our productivity. We upgraded to 6.0 and installed Analytics and Advanced Scheduler in 2008. This gave us the opportunity to schedule staff according to business need without having to use a file drawer of historical information.
In 2009 we were looking to advance our HR/Payroll capabilities. We wanted on-line applications through our web-site and self-service for employees and managers. The Kronos HR/Payroll products gave us the options we wanted at a better price than our current vendor could give. We implemented the HR/Payroll products with 6.0 in 2010 and upgraded to 6.2 in 2011.
Our implementations and upgrades have varied in length and intensity depending on what we were working with. The Advanced Scheduler and HR/Payroll implementation were the most demanding due to the options available in the scheduler and the amount of data being converted for HR/Payroll. We always use Kronos staff for implementations and have found them to be knowledgeable about their product, the area they cover (timekeeper, HR, etc.) and are customer-friendly. Once the project is complete we depend on our Plus Support team, who know us personally and are always responsive and know the products well.
We use the "train the trainer" method. Certain members on our staff learn the process and then teach the rest of the users. Since Kronos is so intuitive, it is an easy process for us.
